Abstract

The purpose of this study is to enhance of mathematics undergraduate students’ pedagogic competency by providing assistance in the development of learning media in mathematics. The research method is action research which includes four stages: pre-research analysis, reflection, preparation and implementation of actions, and evaluation. The instrument is questionnaire of validation by media experts (content / material) and practitioner in education. The research was conducted in 2019/2020 with 15 students of mathematics education study program who have computer skills. The results shows that an assistance for undergraduate students is effective to improving their competences specially in pedagogy integrated to technology mobile learning. Based on expert judgments the nine learning media based smartphone in mathematics was produced in this study showed the "feasible" category. The implication of this research is needed to assistance widely, such as for teachers.

Abstract

Research on blending relevance based asynchronous and synchronous learning across the cognitive result of 5th grade elementary school students. The aim is to determine the impact of online learning on cognitive students. In this research, the control class and the experimental class received the same learning media, asynchronous learning using the Google Classroom application so that students could send materials, collect assignments and communicate indirectly with the teacher. Meanwhile, synchronous learning uses a zoom application, where students can interact and communicate with teachers and friends directly. The control class did not use relevant-based learning with a total of 24 children and the experimental class, which used relevant-based learning, amounted to 44 children. The results showed that the average pretest for the control class was 54.38 and the experimental class was 55.94. On the other hand, the average posttest for the control class was 63.54 and the experimental class was 83.50. These results show a significant difference, then continued with statistical tests to the correlation test stage and obtained significant results of 0.743 and 0.000 sig. The contribution of relevant-based learning is 55.1% to students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

The rapid development of ICT, on the one hand, provides many conveniences, but on the other hand, it often causes many problems. Furthermore, the development of science and technology also requires humans to be lifelong learners. Therefore, students must have the ability to use ICT (Technology Literate) and the ability to solve problems creatively. For this reason, a learning model is needed that integrates problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and mastery of technology. The integration of the flipped classroom model with problem-based learning reinforced with DO IT techniques is one of the alternative models to be developed. Based on these needs, this research will develop a learning model that integrates a problem-based learning model with a flipped classroom learning model, which is strengthened by applying to DO IT techniques. The learning model is called the Problem-Based Flipped Learning Model (PBFL Model). In realizing this model, research was conducted using the Gall and Borg development research model. Currently, development research is up to the revision stage based on the results of a learning expert review.

Abstract

The development of science, technology, and art requires learning innovations in elementary schools that are more connected to the real world and able to hone 21st century learning skills. One of the innovations that can be done is to introduce new media and approaches for students to learn in a more integrated manner through learning STEAM based. The purpose of this research; 1) evaluate students' experiences in learning using the STEAM approach by building temples out of folded paper; 2) observing students' activities in learning using the STEAM approach by building temples from folding paper related to 21st century learning skills; and 3) reviewing the relationship between the activities of building temples out of folded paper and the STEAM discipline. This research is an exploratory study using a qualitative approach combined with the Engineering Design Process (EDP) which was attended by 25 elementary school students. The results showed that students had a pleasant experience from the activity of making temples using folded paper, the activity of making temples encouraged students especially to express creativity and critical thinking, and the activity of making temples seemed to have a relationship with all STEAM disciplines. Making temples from folding paper as a medium for STEAM learning can be adapted and continuously improved by using digital technology so that students can more dynamically compose and explore the shape of the temple.

Abstract

Development of E-Module Geography based on Spatial Thinking For Senior High School Students of XI grade is purposed to produce spatial thinking e-module with good validity. The research uses research and development oriented by multimedia product, e-module. This research uses the Lee & Owen model which has five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Validation results got very good condition with an average score of 90,78 percent. Materials aspects were 82,4 percent, Media aspects were 92 percent and Educational Design aspect was 98,2 percent. Based on users’ response gave an average score of 89,3 percent and Geographic teachers gave a score of 90 percent, its mean the module had very good criteria to use as a companion book for student.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the high number of wrong majors experienced by students in Indonesia. Along with the development of technology and because the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the “New Normal” in the field of education, it has now Edtech reached the stage of helping students in choosing a major according to their potential and talent interests. To improve the accuracy and ease of students finding majors according to their potential and talent interests, we would find out the factors that influence the acceptance of EdTech applications in selecting majors with a case study of the Aku Pintar application. However, there were various unknown factors regarding the level of achievement and acceptance of Majoring Test users in the Aku Pintar application. Based on this, this study wanted to identify the factors of acceptance of the major’s selection test in the Aku Pintar application. This study used the information success model which had been modified by adding variables from previous research recommendations. The variables used are information quality, system quality, service quality, user satisfaction, intention to use, and net benefit. The data collection method used an online survey via Google Forms. This research used a data analysis method from smartPLS. The results of the analysis showed that the factors that influence the success of the implementation of the major selection test in the Aku Pintar application were information quality, service quality, intention to use, user satisfaction, and net benefits.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effects of the application of heutagogy-based flipped classroom and self-efficacy on Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for PAK Semester V students in the lesson planning course. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a two-by-two factorial design. The sample consisted of 48 students, consisting of the experimental and control groups. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure self-efficacy and a test to measure higher thinking skills. Data analysis used two-way ANOVA, and all parametric assumption tests were performed at a significance value of 5%. The results of the study showed 1) there were differences in HOTS learning outcomes between groups of students with the heutagogy approach and students with andragogy approaches, 2) there were differences in HOTS learning outcomes between groups of students based on the level of self-efficacy, and 3) there was no interaction between Flipped Classroom with the heutagogy approach and self-efficacy on HOTS learning outcomes.

Abstract

Problem-Based Learning model through a metacognitive approach is one thing that is assumed to be appropriate during the Covid-19 Pandemic. One of the online learning methods is flipped learning. In this study, the application of PBM through a metacognitive approach is integrated with the implementation of flipped learning. This study aims to describe the implementation of an integrated problem-based learning model with a metacognitive approach through flipped learning in science learning lectures. This research is a development research using the Borg and Gall model with the research subjects being PGSD students of the Faculty of Education, State University of Gorontalo who actively participate in science learning lectures. Based on the results of the study, it can be described that the PBL model integrated with the metacognitive approach through flipped learning can provide a new learning experience for students. Flipped learning requires students to study basic material before the lecture takes place so that during lectures, students can spend their time applying the material through active learning and problem solving. The integration of the problem-based learning model integrated with the metacognitive approach through flipped learning restructures the lecturer-centered learning approach and makes students the center of learning.

Abstract

The Freedom Learning - Freedom Campus (MBKM) Policy is a form of learning in higher education that is autonomous and flexible. However, in implementing the program several challenges and opportunities were encountered. This study aims to describe the challenges and opportunities faced in the implementation of MBKM program in the Primary School Education Department, especially in the student exchange program. The research approach used is qualitative research with a case study research design. Sources of research data are lecturers and students at partner universities as subjects who carry out student exchanges. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and anecdotal notes. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis (data condensation, data display, and verification). The results showed that most of the students experienced challenges related to socio-cultural factors. The use of regional languages during lectures makes students need time to adjust. Regarding opportunities, differences in an academic culture that affect the learning process (course assignments, teaching methods, and use of technology) provide opportunities for each university to be able to adapt an academic culture that has a positive impact. So, more technical guidelines are needed in the implementation of the MBKM student exchange program.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the influence of design in interactive Powerpoint media on student learning interest and how the influence of interactive Powerpoint media on student learning interest. The purpose of this study is based on the frequency of use of Powerpoint media in the learning process. Based on the author's hypothesis, there is an influence of interactive Powerpoint media on students' interest in learning. This influence is positive, meaning that interactive Powerpoint media can increase student interest in learning. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with data collection techniques using online questionnaires that are distributed to predetermined targets. The target of this research is active students from various universities in Indonesia. There are a total of 40 respondents in this research. The results of this research indicate that the difference in design of interactive PowerPoint media can increase students' learning interest.
