Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of tournaments and games-based learning in improving students' motivation. The method used in this research is quasi experimental study (quasi-experiment). Shape design experiments is the one shot case study. Subjects in this study is graders X.1 MA Ahmad Yani Jabung using tournaments and games-based learning. Data collection techniques in this study using a closed questionnaire. The data analysis in this research is descriptive analysis and T test (t-test) using SPSS 16.0 software for windows. Based on the results of the study the average score of student motivation before using tournaments and games-based learning is 72.55. While the average score of students' motivation after the tournament and games-based learning is 74.35. Hypothesis test results showed that the number P-value for the t-test is 0.001. This means that 0.001 <0.05, it can be concluded that the tournaments and games-based learning significantly influence students' motivation to learn geography. Based on these results the researchers recommend tournaments and games-based learning can be applied in the classroom to the students, especially the subjects of geography.

Abstract

Molecular phylogeneticis a material which studied in Evolution Subject for undergraduete student in Biology Education Programm. This subject need contextual learning materials and allow in development and progress of science and technology developing. The general problem of student isthe low knowledge in molecular area. One solution for this problem is provide a research-based textbook based on molecular approach. The textbook was developed based on ADDIE development model. The product was validated by instructional media expert, subject matter expert, education practitioner and tested on small group (nine students). Validation results from instructional media expert, subject matter expert, education practitioner, and small group are respectively 87,14%, 91,00%, 75,78%, and 82,22% .

Abstract

The utilization of learning resources is the key of the rise of linstructional activities in schools. Generally, school only using the teacher as the main resource of learning. The more appropriate the learning resource, the more easy and rich the students’ knowledge. The purpose of this research and development are (1) to produce e-module of integrated social sciences for VII grade students’ of SMPK Mater Dei Probolinggo by using contextual approach and (2) to know the learning outcomes in social science subject at the VII grade students’ of SMPK Mater Dei that learned by using e-module of integrated social sciences. The model of develoment uses in this research is Lee & Owen Model. Based on the results of validation and test it could be concluded that the e-module developed valid and fit for use in learning and can improve student learning outcomes in social studies integrated.

Abstract

This aim of this research is to determine the contribution of self-regulated learning and social skills towards the achievement of vocational competence of vocational students packages machining engineering expertise in the city of Makassar. Type and data analysis of this study are included in the quantitative approach. The samples used as many as 150 students in class XI. Data collection techniques for the variable self-regulated learning and social skills using questionnaires while variable vocational competency achievement using tests and documentation. Data analysis included descriptive and regression. The results showed: (1) self-regulated learning contributes to the achievement of vocational competence of 7,67%; (2) social skills contribute to the achievement of vocational competence of 4,28%; and (3) contribution of self-regulated learning and social skills of students simultaneously towards the achievement of vocational competence of 40,5%.

Abstract

The focus of this research is local wisdom high school students of class IX, the short story collection classes. Local knowledge, the delivery of local knowledge, and local wisdom motif. This research is a qualitative descriptive study and study analys desciptive. Data such as the students' transcripts plus interview and quistionnaire footage. The results of this study, local wisdom is influenced by the environment students, delivery of most use of local knowledge I lyrical, and local knowledge to save cultural motifs.

Abstract

This research aimed to produce learning material in the form of Biotechnological subject support textbook based on research of techniques and steps to reveal Costus speciosus Smith. leaf extract potency to the mice spermatozoa motility and phosphorylation activity for university student taking Biotechnological subject. This research was developing research. The research and developing model used was ADDIE developing model. ADDIE model used five developing steps, included of analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The developing research data was textbook validity percentage from validation and opinion sheet obtained from tests result by material expert, media expert, and individual test by university student. The textbook validation result from test subject could be declared that it was very worthy and very valid so it was worthy to be used in Biotechnological subject.

Abstract

The material presented in Cell Biology course one of them is the Cell Aging (Aging). In these materials can be developed research in Silico to broaden the knowledge of students with innovative bioinformatics approach based learning with a reverse screening method. The method used is Dick and Carey (2009) Model Development. The results of research in the form textbook Cell Biology courses based in Silico which has been validated by subject matter experts, media, and small-scale trials. Results from subject matter experts by 91.43% for feasibility component contents, 77.33% for eligibility presentation and 72.72% for the use of language. For media experts obtained 89.70% and 93% for small-scale trials.

Abstract

CLIL has now become an alternative approach that many ESP English teachers could use in their classes to keep up with the current approach in language teaching. Apparently, there is still a question on what kind of attitudes ESP teachers have on the use of CLIL for teaching ESP. The present study aims at reporting research findings on teachers’ attitudes toward the use of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach in the teaching of English for specific purposes (ESP), in terms of teaching material, teaching method, teaching media, and assessment.

Abstract

A research and development was conducted to address the problem of teaching and learning argumentative course. The teaching of the course that implemented process writing approach took long time to conduct and required face to face meeting for guidance. An online media in form of website was developed enabling the teaching and learning to be conducted online. The website is specially designed to allow the five stages of process writing approach; planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing done online.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the transfer of Knowledge the skills of the local wisdom of traditional medicine sangkal putung massage (KPTPSP). Qualitative research approach with the types of case studies, the research took three shaman deny one as the subject of the case. Data unearthed by the method of interview and observation, as well as equipped with study documents. Data were analyzed through the stages of reduction data, display data, and conclusions. To get the keabsyahan data sources and triangulation methods do data mining. There are five major stages that must be traversed learners in Knowledge KPTPSP, i.e. stages melu, stage njajal praktek, stage laku, stage practice, and independent stages. Melu stage is the activity of prospective learners observe all activities related to KPTPSP. Phase njajal praktek are doing massage on some members of the body of the client in the supervision of Knowledge resource (tentor). Phase laku is doing the fast and read the verses of the Holy Qur'an. Stages of practice in the form of activity doing massage to patient fractures. Independent stage in which learners opens own Massage practice.
