Abstract

The lack of positive attitude may be caused by the weak implementation of environment education. One of the ways to solve the problem is by preparing prospective early childhood teachers to have the ability to instill environment concern to their students as early as possible so that the students grow up becoming people who care about the environment. The purpose of this research is to develop training scenarios on environmental education using Science, Technology, Society, Environment (STSE) model integrated into scientific thematic lessons, particularly for prospective early childhood teachers. This research is kind of development research. There were three aspects assessed by these experts namely usability, accuracy, and feasibility employing quantitative and qualitative data analyses. User judgment came from the prospective teachers done through interviews, and the data from these interviews were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results involved three expert assessments in the field of early childhood, environmental education, and educational technology, although further analysis is required. Subsequent investigation conducted on the subject user group, indicating a positive value of 83.3%, in support of the product. Therefore, the efficiency test results showed the training on environmental education using the Environmental Education Training with STSE model and integrated with scientific thematic lessons, were known to enhance 32.44% of all aspects of the prospective teacher's positive attitudes on the environment.

Abstract

Learning Indonesian speaking skills in news texts with a reporting strategy as a role model is implemented to solve the problem of students' lack of speaking and presenting skills. The purpose of this study was conducted to analyze the implementation of the reportage-based speaking skill learning method in SMK. The type of approach to this research is descriptive qualitative, as a research method based on postpositivism philosophy with objects of natural conditions (the opposite of this research is experimentation). The research was conducted by interviewing, observing, and taking notes for data collection. Research subjects are researchers and their partners. Data analysis activities are carried out by explaining the technique of planning, implementing, and evaluating learning as a strategy for learning speaking skills. The findings in this study showed that students experienced an increase in their speaking skills and demonstrated in public schools with a score of 71 out of 21 instrument indicators regarding the method of applying reportage-based students' speaking skills in Vocational High Schools. Abstract

Microteaching is one such teacher training technique which helps the teacher trainee to master the teaching skills and develop teaching strategies. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has made microteaching courses conducted online. This study aims to analyze the microteaching experience of Performing Arts Education students in a microteaching course during the COVID-19 pandemic. The microteaching session is divided into two sessions: online theory-based microteaching sessions and offline practice-based microteaching session. This study used a qualitative research. The research design used is the author's point of view. The author has direct contact with the people, situations, and phenomena being investigated. Data analysis techniques are carried out by systematically observing and recording the symptoms that appear in the object of research. In this microteaching setting, the author observes how students develop their own teaching and learning processes by planning, teaching, observing, evaluating, and reflecting on learning. The findings of this study indicated that the implementation of online and offline microteaching during the COVID-19 pandemic has its own advantages and disadvantages. In addition, the technical side also needs attention. The students still have not shown maturity in mastering the principles of teaching in the classroom. This study is used as a means to improve student teaching to become future educators in unexpected situations.

Abstract

Scientific writing is an essential skill as an indicator to determine the ability to analyze and reflect on the results of thinking. However, students often experience difficulties in developing writing skills. This study tried a solution by applying inquiry learning by assisting with scaffolding prompting questions. The aims of this study is to analyze the effect of the scaffolding prompting questions in guided inquiry learning on scientific writing skills. The type of this research is a quasi-experiment conducted in senior high school. Science learning is conducted in two classes; experiment and control class with different treatments. The experiment class implemented guided inquiry learning assisted by a scaffolding prompting question, while the control class was taught with guided inquiry learning without scaffolding. Scientific writing skills are obtained from the evaluation of practicum reports that students have done after being trained for three lessons. The results of statistical tests on scientific writing skills using the independent sample t-test showed that the scientific writing skills of the experimental class students differed from the control class. Then, it can be concluded that the scaffolding prompting question in guided inquiry learning significantly influences scientific writing skills.

Abstract

The usage of games, which have been around for a very long time and have been the focus of research for a number of years, is a component of mathematical education. The usage of games in mathematics classrooms is far higher than in any other subject. Furthermore, teachers agree that video games are an excellent medium for teaching mathematics in middle school. This raises the question of whether students in the secondary grades change their mathematical identities as a result of participating in an inquiry-based teaching unit with Minecraft. The information whether students in the secondary grades change their mathematical identities as a result of participating in an inquiry-based teaching unit with Minecraft remains unclear. The aims of this study is to analyze information regarding the benefits of using Minecraft as a teaching tool, the challenges that come with it, the viewpoints of students on the game, and the educational benefits it provides. The current study was based on a Minecraft-based teaching unit that was carried out in a class with a total of 22 high school students. This study use semi-structured interviews in our qualitative research endeavor. This study project's findings researcherre put into three themes, they are 1) students of mathematics; 2) Minecraft gamer of mathematics students; and 3) repositioned as students of mathematics.

Abstract

The use of teaching strategies that interesting for all students by teachers is still lacking, especially for students who have indicators of slow learning. This study aims to develop a thematic learning model using role-playing techniques in inclusive schools. The Hannafin & Peck development model is adopted in this study along with the research and development methodology. The development phases are carried out starting with the needs analysis, design, development, and implementation stages. Processes for review and revision will be used in these three levels. Material and design experts have given developing thematic learning models utilizing the role-playing approach in the Merdeka curriculum in inclusive schools excellent marks for viability. Average material expert scores result in a score of 97.36%, whereas average design expert scores result in a score of 92.10%. The efficacy test results were then collected from 14 students, with an average score of 74.90% on the pretest. The posttest results, in comparison, had an average value of 85.14%. The development that has been done can be used by teachers at the inclusive schools to carry out teaching activities to students regarding thematic learning using the role-playing method in the Merdeka curriculum. This will ensure that the effectiveness test that was carried out was successful by getting an excellent. Abstract

Students' interactions in school-based activities across subject areas and linguistic groups have been the focus of study on the relationship between identity and learning. Likewise with what happened in the bilingual class which is very interesting to be studied further. Therefore the current study aims to analyze the positionality of students considering the voices of students, subject teachers, and school administrators influenced by school language policies. This study uses case study research. The data were collected out of 102 students that participated in the initial interview, four focal participants were chosen. Two of the students were female, and two were male. Semi-structured interviews and observations were performed. The qualitative content analysis utilizes the gathered data to produce unique representations of the transcripts, such as what is being discussed at a specific time. The findings of this study share students' positive and negative voices toward the implemented language policy at the school. They position themselves as passive and active English users in recognizing their identity positionality. This study may be of relevance to those active in secondary or higher education research, decision-making and advocacy in the non-profit and public sectors, school leadership and governance, and teaching and learning.

Abstract

School management is the most basic part of education management. The application of education management in school organizations is a nationally applicable education system component. This study aims to analyze how to detect school management diseases so that health or prevention efforts can be identified. The chosen research method is descriptive in the form of research and development. The research subjects were school principals, teachers, and administration. The school categories were selected from public and private junior high schools. The data collection instrument was developed as a questionnaire instrument to test the correctness and suitability of health indicators in the organization of school resources by practitioners in schools. Based on the results of the calculation of the Weight Mean Score (WMS) as a whole, the dimensions are included in the very healthy category with an average score of 3.42, and when converted on a scale of 1-100, the resulting score is 85.48. From these data, it can be concluded that Public and Private Junior High Schools are ready to organize school resources so that these school organizations can remain disease-free.
