Abstract

Arabic has considerable influence over the Indonesian language, namely in vocabulary or loan words.  This study aims to identify various forms of sound changes that occur in loanwords in the translation of the text Akidatul Awam. Using qualitative descriptive analysis, the researcher examined the data to discern the Arabic loan words in the text that take on an Indonesian phoneme. The results found 80 borrowed words in the translation of Akidatul Awam with various forms of sound changes in Crowley's theory; namely sound attenuation, sound reinforcement and sound addition. This research is expected to be able to increase knowledge in the field of linguistics, and assist language users in choosing and distinguishing loan words that are standard in Indonesian.

Learning Arabic today cannot be separated from digital media. One digital platform in the form of audio that is close to the lives of millennials and has principles of efficiency in learning is Anchor.fm. a digital media in the form of audio streaming that is used by students in accessing learning materials and at the same time functions as an assignment portfolio. This article aims to describe the use of the Anchor.fm application. in Arabic learning activities and student perceptions in using the Anchor.fm application. This study is classified as qualitative-descriptive. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, documentation, and observation. The data analysis refers to Miles & Huberman, including; data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings obtained in this study include (1) Anchor.fm. is the main supporting medium for students to understand MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) material, for example; vocabulary pronunciation, reading narrative texts and dialogues, and understanding Arabic grammar. (2) Anchor.fm. as an efficient learning medium, from the aspect of time, effort, and cost. Abstract

Most non-native students regard Nahwu as the most challenging subject. at Markaz Arabiyah, Nahwu teaching still applies a conventional method namely the lecture method and uses a few media. Therefore, the researcher offers an alternative method as a solution to solve the problems. In this case, this research aimed to know the influence of Brain Storming method based on Mathematical-Logical intelligence on student's competence in Nahwu subject. The method of this study is experimental with Quasi-Experimental Design which used Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population consisting of 30 students of which 14 students are from the control class and 16 students are from the experimental one. The strategy of data collection used in this study consisted of test. The data analysis used a t-test. The result of this study showed that independent data of the T-Test Sample, it could be known that the Significance Value (2-Tailed) is 0,021 < 0,05 which meant that there were significant differences between the average of the experimental class and the control one. The influence and effectivity level of that method is taken from the N Gain Score test which showed 45,19% for the experimental class and 29,73% for the control class. It meant that the Brain Storming method is effective enough, while the conventional one is not effective

Abstract

In the use of language, sometimes we find a difference between one speech and another speech with expressions that have one meaning. This phenomenon is also called by linguists with synonyms. Synonyms are two words that have one or more meanings, such as "death" and "died". This research aims to: 1. know the analysis of the word forms that are synonymous in Surah Al-Baqarah, 2. Analyze the meaning of rich words that are synonymous in Surah Al-Baqarah. The type of research used in this research is literature research with a qualitative approach. The primary data used are verses containing synonymous words in surah Al-Baqarah. And this research uses content analysis with the krippendorf data analysis model. The results of this research are: there are three forms of synonymous words which include: 1. synonyms inletter form , 2. synonyms in formname, and synonyms in the formfi'il. Adapum means 1. for synonyms inletter formamong them said  "from"can meanli ibtida ghayyah (to begin the purpose), li tab'idh (part),liziyadatil taukid(for amplifier), while the word "on  " can meanthat of (Because), min (from) 2. Tosynonyms in formnameamong them the words "the other daywhich is used to mention the end of world life, while the wordDoomsdayused for the mention of after the end of life in the world, and 3. Forsynonyms in formfi'il for example saidcreationwhich is used for the creation from nothing to exist, while the wordmake  used from there then made into something new. In this study there is something new in that the division of synonym forms is different from the usual types of synonyms, namely: the synonym form consists of isim, fi'il, and letters while the synonym type consists ofat-taraduf al kamil, syibhut taraduf, at-taqaruf ad-dalali, at-tafawuf (fil 'umum, fil special, fil quwwah, Fil malamih)

Abstract

This article explores the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing the teaching of balaghah (Arabic rhetoric) among undergraduate students. The study examines how PBL encourages active student engagement and fosters critical thinking through collaborative tasks, particularly in the design of multiple-choice questions. By shifting students from passive receivers of information to active creators of knowledge, PBL facilitates deeper comprehension of balaghah concepts. The research findings align with previous studies, demonstrating that PBL not only improves understanding but also increases retention of complex rhetorical principles. The article also discusses challenges encountered, such as varying levels of student comprehension, and proposes solutions like incorporating cooperative learning strategies. The results highlight the importance of pedagogical innovation, showing that PBL offers an effective approach to modernizing the teaching of classical disciplines such as balaghah.

Abstract

The relationship between adad (numbers) and madud (counted nouns) in Arabic is governed by complex and strict grammatical rules. Inaccuracies in applying these rules, such as gender agreement (masculine or feminine), numerical forms, and sentence structure (i‘rab), can affect meaning and communication accuracy, especially in formal or religious texts. Google Translate, as one of the most popular automated translation tools, faces significant challenges in handling grammatical structures like adad-madud. Its limitations lie in recognizing broader contexts and applying deep grammatical rules. This study aims to explore how Google Translate can improve translation accuracy in the context of adad-madud and understand the weaknesses that impact its translations. The research focuses on identifying errors, such as gender mismatches between numbers and nouns, incorrect numerical forms, and errors in sentence structure application. As an initial step, this study compares Google Translate's outputs with the grammatical rules established in Arabic. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, using data collection techniques through translation trials. Various combinations of numbers and nouns in Arabic were input into Google Translate to analyze the results. The research results indicate that Google Translate still frequently makes errors in translating adad-madud, particularly in determining gender, numerical forms, and the grammatical position of adad and madud in the context of the sentence. This research addresses a gap in previous studies, which focused more on general, idiomatic, or religious text translations. By specifically examining adad-madud, this study provides new insights into the challenges and limitations of automated translation tools and offers recommendations for developing more accurate translation algorithms in the future.
