Abstract

This study aims to investigate the efficacy aspects of Central Kalimantan Arabic teachers, such as level, strength, and generality to become a driving teacher. This study used a mixed method by combining qualitative and quantitative designs (concurrent triangulation) by recruiting 19 (nineteen) Arabic teachers at Madrasah Aliyah level from several districts/cities in Central Kalimantan province, Indonesia. The results of this study indicated that the three aspects of the Arabic teachers already have high self-efficacy to become a driving teacher with an average score of 3.79. This is based on their enthusiasm to learn how to use IT in the teaching process and their ability to instill character education and be able to be flexible in dealing with diverse student behavior. However, some difficulties arise from aspects of strength such as difficulties in reflecting and evaluating student-centered learning outcomes and involving the students’ parents.

Abstract

This study explores the utilization of poetry in Ibn Katsir's tafsir riwayah and its instructional methods at Miftahul Huda Manonjaya Islamic boarding school in Tasikmalaya. Employing a qualitative approach, precisely the analytical descriptive research method, the research delves into integrating poetry in Ibn Katsir's exegesis and its pedagogical implementation in the mentioned Islamic boarding school. The findings reveal that Ibn Katsir employed poetry to interpret one hundred and eleven verses, highlighting the substantial role of poetic expression in his approach to tafsir riwayah. The study categorizes Tafsir learning at the pesantren into formal and non-formal learning. Seven formal learning methods are identified: lecture, question and answer sessions, demonstration, drill, problem-solving activities, recitation, and discussions. Simultaneously, non-formal learning comprises five methods: wetonan (traditional Javanese calendar-based activities), sorogan (group recitation), muhawarah (dialogue), mudzakarah (group discussion), and majlis ta'lim (religious study sessions). In conclusion, this study contributes to understanding poetry's role in Ibn Katsir's tafsir riwayah. It elucidates the diverse instructional methods applied in Tafsir learning at Miftahul Huda Manonjaya Islamic boarding school. Integrating formal and non-formal methods underscores the comprehensive educational approaches to impart Islamic knowledge in the pesantren environment. Recommendations for future research include exploring the impact of specific poetic elements on students' learning outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of integrating technology into Tafsir teaching at Islamic boarding schools.

Data was collected using the content analysis method. The content analysis method is used to look at the constancy of the text content and the meaning of the contents of the Arabic Maharah al-Qira’ah textbooks at MA. The findings of this study indicate that the Arabic Qira’ah textbooks at MA contain religious moderation values including; national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and accommodation of local culture. The implications of this study are first, as an auto-corrective for Arabic textbook writers, and second, so that Arabic teachers can reinforce the values of religious moderation to students, both in the form of illustrations and by giving concrete examples in daily behavior.

Abstract

Teachers' low utilization of technology in learning Arabic has become a common phenomenon in the education area in Indonesia. The findings of researchers at different schools show the same happening, which is supported by similar studies in various regions of Indonesia. The minimal utilization of technology is undoubtedly out of step with this era and with the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, which is socialized through the Independent Curriculum. However, the findings of these studies do not provide a remedy, namely how to persuade Arabic language teachers to adapt to technology. Therefore, this research aims to provide an example of making a learning video by utilizing an application that is easy to use and can be obtained for free through the website. This research uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which makes multimedia from the concept stage to distribution. The result of this research is an Arabic learning video about gender. This gender material was chosen randomly among a variety of other Arabic language materials. This is intended as an example and it is hoped that Arabic language teachers at any level of education can follow the example of making this learning video by changing the material according to the curriculum at the level they teach.
