Abstract

This research is aimed at revealing the existence of new alternatives in translation teaching media. Translation teaching media is still strongly suspected to be dominated by the use of dictionaries, both in print such as Munawir, Munjid, Mahmud Yunus, and digital dictionaries like al-Maany, Google Translate, and other applications. The alternative media offered is social media such as Twitter (X). Social media usually used in public communication can be utilized as an alternative for translation learning. How to utilize social media such as Twitter in translation learning? How accurate is social media in teaching Arabic-Indonesian or Indonesian-Arabic translation? This research falls under the category of qualitative research when viewed from the source of text data used. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative method. The researcher will systematically present examples of using social media (Twitter) in translation learning. The data source in this study is tweets in Arabic language on Twitter. The results of this study indicate that Twitter can be an alternative translation teaching media. The auto-translate system available on Twitter provides several advantages in translation teaching, such as access to authentic and contemporary materials, development of translation speed and accuracy, exercise in finding equivalent words that are currently trending in the Arab world. However, the translations displayed by the auto-translate system on Twitter still need to be considered because there are various contexts that machine translators cannot read.

Abstract

The development of science and technology demands educators to continually enhance innovation and creativity in teaching and learning activities. Proficiency in language, particularly Arabic, is crucial to facilitate communication, understand the Quran and Hadith, and broaden perspectives. The learning of the Arabic language can be facilitated through the use of applications and platforms available over time. An analysis of the content on the Instagram account @alazharcenterpare was conducted to identify various features and content that can be utilized as a learning medium in the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this research will illustrate Instagram as one of the widely used applications for learning media due to its various attractive features such as stories, reels, and feeds. The stories feature is a suitable choice for conducting quizzes, polls, and Q&A sessions to assess the extent of students' proficiency in understanding the Arabic language. Thus, this research indicates that Instagram, with its diverse and contemporary features, can enhance the enthusiasm and motivation of individuals in learning the Arabic language.

Abstract

The focus of this Research aims to obtain a picture of learning outcomes at the S1 level, especially in the faculty of education in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Learning outcomes are designed to face the era of the global market (MEA). Learning outcomes are a set of learning outcomes aimed at improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Learning Outcomes consists of education and training. The sub focus of this research is to find out whether learning outcomes are applied according to market needs, or there are still learning outcomes that need to be recommended for the IQF curriculum in Indonesia. This research method is qualitative and quantitative. Data obtained from curriculum documents and laws in force in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Data collection techniques by observation, interview and documentation. The results of the study showed that there were similarities in learning outcomes in the aspects of curriculum objectives, namely to equip students with life skills. The difference is in terms of character building and independence and responsibility.

Abstract

This research, of significant importance, aims to investigate the prevailing themes and research methods employed in master's theses in Arabic Language Education in Indonesia from 2011 to 2021. The study also seeks to identify the factors influencing the selection of specific themes and methods. A descriptive qualitative approach is utilized, with the researcher acting as the main instrument for mapping based on a predetermined grid. The primary data for this study consists of 1083 archived theses from Master of Arabic Language Education students at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, and UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, accessible through the e-repositories of each university. The findings, of great significance, indicate that the predominant theme in these master's theses is the study of Arabic teaching materials, accounting for 308 titles or 28.44% of the total. The second central theme is learning design research, with 143 titles (13.20%), followed by Arabic teaching methods with 85 titles (7.85%). Regarding research methods, the research and development (R&D) method dominates the master's theses in Arabic Education, comprising 379 titles (35.05%). Descriptive methods rank second with 319 titles (29.48%), followed by case studies with 190 titles (17.56%). Less commonly used research methods include character studies, which have only six titles (0.55%), and survey methods with three titles (0.28%). The dominance of specific themes and research methods in Arabic education indicates a preference for practical field research with socio-educational relevance and intellectual-conceptual approaches. Most of the mentioned research is conducted at UIN Malang, which may be attributed to the program's orientation towards product-based research and its willingness to accept thesis titles based on students' capabilities, unlike other study programs.

Abstract

This research is aimed at examining the BIPA teaching book "Language Friendly Volume 1" published by Antasari Banjarmasin State Islamic University from several aspects: First, a review of the suitability of the material with the Graduate Competency Standards (SKL) stipulated in the Permendikbub from its accuracy and cultural content. Second, this research is aimed at examining the suitability of material for Arabic speakers, this refers to the fact that Arabs often dominate BIPA participants at UIN Antasari. This study uses a qualitative approach because the data are in the form of narratives or text. The method used by researchers is content analysis. The indicators used in analyzing the book's content were adopted from Muslich, and the rating interval was adopted from the scale developed by Nurgiyantoro. The results of this study revealed that the BIPA textbook "Language Friendly Volume 1" designed for the A1 level of need, was still "not appropriate" with a percentage of 50%. The drawback is that the author is inconsistent in presenting the material, narrative, dialogue, and Indonesian insights. There is also material content that is not yet time to be delivered at the A1 level. This BIPA textbook is considered not suitable for use by Arabic speakers or even other foreign speakers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether YouTube can be a good alternative in learning muhadatsah which is part of Maharah Kalam. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation to students of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Department of Arabic Language Education. This research found that using YouTube both audio and visual as a muhadatsah learning media is an easy and effective way to understand the material. Even though there are some shortcomings, this can be overcome with good cooperation between teachers, students, and student guardians. This strategy is carried out as an effort to improve students' muhadatsah abilities so that muhadatsah learning objectives are achieved. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengungkapkan apakah youtube bisa menjadi alternatif yang baik dalam pembelajaran muhadatsah bahasa Arab yang merupakan bagian Maharah Kalam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi kepada mahasiswa UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab. Adapun penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil bahwa penggunaan youtube secara audio maupun visual sebagai media pembelajaran muhadatsah adalah cara yang mudah dan efektif dalam memahami materi tersebut. Walau ada beberapa kekurangan, tetapi hal itu bisa diatasi dengan adanya kerja sama yang baik antara guru, murid, dan wali murid. Strategi ini dilakukan sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan muhadatsah siswa sehingga tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran muhadatsah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang mengetahui apa saja yang menjadi faktor yang meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa Arab mahasiswa, terutama yang bukan dari pondok pesantren dan upaya apa yang harus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa Arab. Subjek pada penelitian kali ini, yaitu para informan yang terdiri dari 10 mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab yang bukan berasal dari pondok pesantren. Dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tahapan wawancara. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan kepada mahasiswa bahasa Arab non pondok pesantren dengan menggunakan penelitian pendekatan kualitatif. Yang mana hasilnya dapat dikelompokkan menjadi dua kategori yaitu termotivasi dan tidak termotivasi serta menentukan motivasi Intristik atau motivasi ekstrinsik. Motivasi belajar dikatakan ekstrinsik apabila mahasiswa meletakan tujuan belajarnya di luar faktor-faktor belajar, adapun faktor eksternal itu adalah: a) mahasiswa termotivasi karena faktor dorongan dari dari orangtua atau keluarga, b) mahasiswa termotivasi karena faktor dorongan dari teman atau kerabat yang memiliki kemampuan bahasa Arab yang lebih dari mereka, sedangkan mereka berasal dari sekolah yang sama. Dan upaya yang dilakukan mahasiswa ketika menghadapi kesulitan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab yaitu: 1) Bertanya kepada guru atau teman yang lebih memahami bahasa Arab, 2) membuka kamus untuk menemukan jawab. Adapun reaksi mahasiswa yang tidak termotivasi ketika menghadapi kesulitan yaitu: 1) berbicara ketika guru sedang menjelaskan, 2) tidak mengerjakan tugas yang telah diberikan oleh guru, 3) tidak hadir saat perkuliahan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the textbook “Semangat Belajar Bahasa Arab untuk MI Kelas VI by A. Saehudin” based on W.F. Mackey's theory, which includes the criteria of selection, gradation, presentation, and repetition of materials. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with the main sources being content analysis of the Erlangga Kurikulum Merdeka Grade VI textbook and an evaluation of its alignment with W.F. Mackey's theory. The results of the study indicate that the textbook fulfills the selection criteria, with materials relevant to learning objectives, students' proficiency levels, learning time duration, the type of language being studied, and the feasibility of the materials being learned. In terms of gradation, the material is organized in a logical sequence from basic to complex skills. The presentation of the material is contextual but shows weaknesses in its visual aspects. The repetition aspect is sufficiently effective, as evidenced by repetitive exercises and supporting media such as audio materials. The conclusion of the study confirms that this textbook can support Arabic language learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Recommendations are provided to improve the visual quality and diversify the material presentation to make it more engaging and relevant for students.

Abstract

Since the emergence of the covid-19 outbreak, the learning system which was originally face-to-face in schools, now has to be done remotely (online).  This applies to all levels of education, both schools and universities.  Therefore, now there are many application designers to carry out and facilitate distance learning (online), one of which is by using the Quizizz application.  quizizz is considered as an innovative medium because it contains interesting features so that distance learning does not feel boring. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach in which the researcher describes the definitions and mechanisms for using the Quizizz application as a medium to support distance learning. The things that will be discussed in this study include: 1.) what features can I use in istima learning? 2.) what are the steps for using quizizz in istima learning? 3.) what are the advantages of the Quizizz application in istima learning? 4.) and what are the problems encountered in learning istima' using Quizizz?
