Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the initial reading ability of the lontarak script of class III students at SDN NO. 204 Balang Presidential Instruction, Takalar Regency. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of quantitative descriptive. The population in this study were all class III students at SDN NO. 204 Inpres Balang, totaling 19 people, is only in 1 class. The sample determined was 19 students, using a saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a test technique, namely an oral test. The data collected will be analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that the ability to read the beginning of the lontarak script of class III students at SDN No. 204 Balang Presidential Instruction Takalar Regency is declared incapable. This can be seen from the percentage of students who obtained a score ≥ 75 in the capable category that did not reach the set criteria, namely 75%, but only achieved 42.1%.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is the form of code switching and code mixing between sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district. This research aims to describe the forms of code switching and code mixing from Makassar language to Bugis language of sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district. This type of research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research design. The subjects in this research were sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district. The data in this research is in the form of oral data in the form of words, clauses and sentences containing code switching and code mixing from Makassar language to Bugis language sourced from sources, namely sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district, which was taken while the conversation process was in progress. Data collection was carried out using recording, listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this research show that there are three forms of code switching at the Bantaeng district fish auction, namely inter-sentence consisting of three data, intra-sentence consisting of three data, and code switching in tags consisting of three data. There are two forms of code mixing, namely the insertion of elements in the form of words consisting of three data and the insertion of elements in the form of phrases consisting of three data.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to write narrative essays in Makassar language using learning video media for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency. This type of research is a type of quantitative research. The population of this study were all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency, totaling 141 students. Determining the sample in this research used Krejcie Morgan's theory with a sample of 103 students. Data collection in this research was carried out using test techniques on research samples. All the data obtained was analyzed through several stages: 1) making a list of raw scores, 2) making frequency distributions and raw scores, 3) calculating the scores obtained by students, 4) calculating the average value of students, 5) classifying students' skills based on the references provided determined. The results of this research show that class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency are categorized as capable in learning to write narrative essays in Makassar language using learning video media as seen from the grades and percentage of students who got a score of 75-100, namely 79 people (77%) from 103 samples and has reached the specified criteria, namely 75% of the sample getting 75 and above is categorized as capable.
