Abstract

The problem of students who tend to have negative narratives about themselves is a challenge in character development. This community service activity aims to create a visual campaign strategy and positive narrative to strengthen the character of students in elementary schools in Mataram. The methods used include workshops on creating positive narratives and visualizations, teacher training, and collaboration with parents. The results show that students are starting to be able to describe themselves as honest, disciplined and caring individuals. Teachers and parents also make significant contributions in supporting program implementation. The impact can be seen in changes in students' mindsets that are more positive and increased collaboration between the school and families. This activity provides a strategic model to be applied in various other educational institutions.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dari semen beku sapi Simmental dengan materi berupa semen segar yang kualitas semen segarnya telah dilakukan pengujian. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) masing-masing perlakuan ditambahkan trehalosa dengan dosis yang berbeda-beda mulai dari 0%, 0,5%, 1%, dan 1,5% dengan variabel terdiri dari motilitas, persentase hidup spermatozoa, membran plasma utuh, tudung akrosom utuh dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Penelitian menunjukkan hasil dari penambahan trehalosa memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap motilitas, persentase hidup spermatozoa, MPU, TAU dan abnormalitas, memberikan hasil terbaik pada dosis penambahan trehalosa 0,5%, dimana ditemukan motilitas 76,77%, persentase hidup spermatozoa 59,62%, MPU 59,50%, TAU 62,00% dan abnormalitas 12,37%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini penambahan trehalosa dapat meningkatkan kualitas semen beku sapi Simmental.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara umur dan libido pejantan terhadap kualitas semen sapi Simmental. Penelitian ini menggunakan 13 ekor pejantan sapi Simmental yang berumur 3-7 tahun di UPTD BPTSD Tuah Sakato. Variabel penelitian ini meliputi skor libido pejantan dan kualitas semen (motilitas, viabilitas, konsentrasi, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa). Data penelitian dianalisis dengan analisis regresi menggunakan aplikasi IBM SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang signifikan (P<0,05) antara umur pejantan dengan motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa, tetapi tidak berkorelasi signifikan (P>0,05) dengan libido pejantan dan konsentrasi semen. Terdapat korelasi yang signifikan (P<0,05) antara libido pejantan dengan konsentrasi dan viabilitas semen. Libido dan kualitas semen terbaik ditemukan pada pejantan yang berumur 6 tahun yaitu libido 4,50±0,55, konsentrasi semen 1.555,50±535,82 x 106/ml, motilitas 86,67±0,82%, viabilitas 83,65±6,37%, dan abnormalitas 6,64±0,75%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah umur pejantan memiliki korelasi dengan motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa sapi Simmental dan skor libido pejantan memiliki korelasi dengan konsentrasi dan viabilitas semen.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of vitamin E supplementation on tris-egg yolk diluent using different quality fresh semen. The research material was ejaculated from six Simmental bulls and then classified into standard quality (SQ) and low quality (LQ) according to progressive motility. The research method was experimental with a randomized factorial design (2X5), with the group by fresh semen with 3 replications. The first factor was the quality of fresh semen, while the second factor was the level of vitamin E addition (B0: 0mg/ml; B1: 0.5 mg/ml; B2: 1 mg/ml; B3: 1.5 mg/ml; and B4: 2 mg/ml). After thawing, the observation parameters were motility, viability, abnormality, plasma membrane integrity, and MDA levels.  The result shows that the quality of fresh semen has a very significant effect (p<0.01) on the motility of frozen semen (66.28±8.66%) and a significant impact (p<0.05) on the plasma membrane integrity (91.31±2.87%). The use of vitamin E at 1 mg/ml showed the best results on motility (66.11±7.64%), viability (70.19±12.13), abnormality (12.00±3.13), and MDA (2.11±0.77). This study concludes that adding vitamin E to the diluent can increase motility, viability, and plasma membrane integrity while reducing abnormality and MDA levels. Low-quality fresh semen can be processed into frozen semen after adding vitamin E. The best level of vitamin E addition is 1 mg/ml.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different vitamin C concentrations (0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 g/100 mL) in egg yolk citrate extender and storage time (0, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours) on the quality of Bangkok rooster semen stored at 5°C. Using a split-plot-in-time design with four replications, semen quality was assessed for motility, viability, abnormality, intact plasma membrane (IPM), and longevity. Results showed a significant interaction (P<0.01) between vitamin C concentration and storage time on motility, and significant effects (P<0.05) on viability, abnormality, and IPM. The 0.2 g vitamin C dose preserved >40% motility and >50% viability for 96 hours and extended sperm longevity up to 11.25±0.95 days. These findings suggest that 0.2 g/100 mL vitamin C is the optimal concentration for preserving rooster semen quality during short-term cold storage.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the impacts of cryopreservation on semen quality and sperm protein profile in Pesisir bulls. Semen samples were collected from three bulls and analyzed in fresh and post-thaw conditions. The sperm motility and kinematic variables were assessed using Computer-Assisted Sperm Analysis (CASA), while sperm viability and plasma membrane integrity (PMI) were evaluated through eosin-nigrosin staining and the hypoosmotic swelling test (HOST), respectively. Subsequently, the total protein concentration (PC) and profile were examined using SDS-PAGE. The results showed that there was a significant decrease in semen quality after thawing, with sperm motility reducing from 81.10% to 70.22%, viability reducing fom 87.47% to 77.27%, and PMI reducing from 85.09% to 71.32% (p<0.05). Kinematic variables such as velocity, straightness, and beat cross frequency also decreased significantly. Protein analysis showed a reduction in total concentration from 1.78 mg/mL to 1.19 mg/mL and alterations in protein band distribution, with the loss of specific high- and low-molecular weight after freezing. These results suggested that cryopreservation negatively impacts semen quality and sperm protein integrity, potentially impairing fertility. Moreover, further studies were recommended to optimize cryopreservation protocols and mitigate adverse effects.

Abstract

Abstract: The demand for beef in Indonesia continues to rise, while beef production remains below this demand. This study aims to evaluate the estrus response, the onset of estrus, and the intensity of estrus in Simmental and Limousin cattle experiencing repeat breeding after the administration of the PGF2? hormone. A total of 24 cattle, consisting of 11 Simmental and 13 Limousin that met the research criteria, were injected with PGF2? hormone. The results showed that both cattle breeds exhibited a 100% estrus response and a high onset of estrus, particularly within the 73-96 hour interval after injection. Statistical analysis indicated no significant differences in the onset and intensity of estrus between the two breeds after hormone administration. These findings suggest that the application of estrus synchronization with PGF2? is effective in enhancing reproductive efficiency. Further research is recommended to explore other factors that may influence reproductive outcomes, such as nutrition and feed management. Keyword: PGF2?, Simmental, Limousin, Estrus Synchronization.Abstrak: Kebutuhan akan daging sapi di Indonesia terus meningkat, sementara produksi daging sapi masih berada di bawah permintaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi respon berahi, kecepatan munculnya berahi, dan intensitas berahi pada sapi Simmental dan Limousin yang mengalami repeat breeding setelah pemberian hormon PGF2?. Sebanyak 24 ekor sapi yang terdiri dari 11 ekor Simmental dan 13 ekor Limousin yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian disuntik dengan hormon PGF2?. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua ras sapi memiliki respon berahi 100% serta kecepatan muncul berahi yang tinggi, terutama pada interval 73-96 jam setelah penyuntikan. Analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dalam kecepatan dan intensitas berahi antara kedua ras setelah pemberian hormon. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sinkronisasi berahi dengan PGF2? efektif untuk meningkatkan efisiensi reproduksi. Penelitian lebih lanjut dianjurkan untuk mengeksplorasi faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil reproduksi, seperti nutrisi dan manajemen pakan.Kata kunci: PGF2?, Simmental, Limousin, Sinkronisasi Berahi.

Abstract

Kabupaten Dharmasraya adalah daerah yang menjadi bagian dari pusat pengembangan ternak sapi di wilayah Sumatera Barat, berbagai kegiatan penyuluhan sudah banyak di lakukan dalam diseminasi inovasi peternakan, terutama pada peternakan sapi potong. Realitasnya usaha ini tidak berkembang, justru mengalami penurunan populasi hingga 9,1% dalam kurun satu tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kualifikasi penyuluh dan mendeskripsikan pelaksanan penyuluhan pada peternakan sapi potong. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dan didukung dengan observasi langsung di lapangan. Penetapan sampel penelitian dilakukan secara  purposive sampling dan didapatkan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 peternak yang berasal dari lima kelompok peternak sapi potong dan mewakili lima wilayah transmigrasi dan telah mengikuti penyuluhan secara intensif. Teknik analisis data adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, berupa skor dan persentase. Hasil penelitian adalah kualifikasi penyuluh sudah tergolong pada kategori baik, dengan rata rata persentase adalah 87,86% dan pelaksanaan penyuluhan tergolong  kategori sedang dengan rata rata persentase adalah 78,19%. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah meskipun kualifikasi penyuluh sudah pada kualifikasi baik, namun belum tentu  dapat menjamin pelaksanaan penyuluhan berjalan secara baik pula, terbukti pelaksanaan penyuluhan hanya kategori sedang, sehingga hasil riset ini berguna dalam memberikan masukan pada Dinas terkait untuk perbaikan pelaksanaan penyuluhan pada peternak sapi potong di daerah Kabupaten Dharmasraya Provinsi Sumatera Barat pada masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to know the quality of Boer liquid semen during storage by adding sweet orange essential oil and gentamicin into the tris yolkextender.The semenlongevity test was carried out by storing semen in a closed tube at room temperature and refrigerator, and evaluated motility and Viability every 3 hours at room temperature and 12 hours in refrigerator. The results showed that the characteristics of the liquid semen, with the addition of 1% of essential oils showed percentage of motility and Viability significantly higher than 0.5% and without the addition of essential oil, either stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator. This may be related to the content of essential oils of sweet orange peel containing flavonoids and antibacterials that are capable of maintaining liquid semen quality of Boer Goat.In addition, gentamicin contains antibacterials capable of suppressing the growth of bacteria which can damage and durabilitythe spermatozoa.Keywords: Boer Goat,Gentamicin, Liquid semen, Sweet orange
