Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fertilization time and different incubation systems on fertilization level by in-vitro. The mature of ovaries from indigenous cow and fresh cement from Holstein Frisian cows (FH), 0.9 % NaCl physiological PBS, Nissui Japan, l,TCM-199, HEPES 30 μM, 20 mL Heparin, 10% goat serum, 250 g/ml FSH BO medium, mediumgentamisain 50 mB-O, mineral oil, alcohol, aquabidest, and 1% aceto orcein were materials and reagents. The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in factorial pattern was used. Results shown no significant effect on the percentage of fertilized oocytes and level of development of pronuclei (2PN and> 2PN) by different timing of fertilization and incubation system. The development of pronucleus (1PN) showed significant (P <0.05) on 12 hours (37.60 %), but no significant effect on different incubation system. It concluded, the system of incubation and time of fertilization has no effect on oocyte fertilization rate. Oocytes fertilization time can be performed at 6 hours, 12 hours, and 18 hours, while the extension of the period of fertilization until 18 hours did not increase the level of fertilization.

Abstract

This research aim to know the influence of depth veneering time of spermatozoa at media of TALP which was supplemented by 4% BSA to embryo gender in in- vitro and to get the time dissociation of spermatozoa which have the best chromosome Y. This research represent attempt of exsperiment in RBT by 4 time veneering of spermatozoa as treatment, times intake of semen of epididymis to groups. Variables measure are: 1). mortality of spermatozoa, 2). number of in vitro fertilzation, 3. masculine gender embryo ratio. Result shown, the veneering of cow spermatozoa during 90 minute in media of TALP which was supplemented by 4% bovine serum albumin (BSA) can dissociate spermatozoa which have chromosome Y with percentage of highest male sex (90.00±24.49), and highest percentage of mortality and fertility were obtained at veneering during 60 minute with scoring 73.33 ± 5.16 and 53.92±18.79 respectively.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of adding hormone FSH and PMSG in vitro oocyte maturation medium on maturation rate and hormone progeiterone. In this experiment,  oocyte derived from ovaries of slaughtered cattle at the slaughterhouse. Maturation medium using TCM-199 supplemented serum 10%, gentamicin 50ug/ml, FSH I0g/mlor PMSG 10 g/ml and the culture of granulosa cells lxl05 cells/ml. In each treatment unit is used 20 oocyt quality A and B in 100 mL of maturation medium. Randomized Blok Design in factorial (2x2x4) was used in this experiment. The Factor A culture (without cells and granulosa cell), B factor hormones (PMSG andFSH). Variables measured were the number maturation and progesterone hormone level in maturation medium by using RIA techniques. The results shown, there is no interaction of hormone addition in granulosa cell numbers on maturation level and progesterone concentration in maturation medium. Granulosa cell in maturation medium significantly (P<0.05) increased the number of oocyte maturation in vitro. The highest maturation was obtained from media with granulosa cells and FSH of 71.25%, while the highest progesterone obtained from media with granulosa cells and PMSG 1.40 ng / ml.

Abstract

The present research was conducted to investigate the potency and viabitity of oocytes of Simmental cattle for production of embryo in in-vitro method. Oacytes were collected from the ovaries of slaughtered Simmental cattle. At first, the ovaries were cleaned and measured for weigh, length, diameter and thickness. The ovaries were then sliced to collect oocyte follicles. The collected oocytes which were devided into 3 groups based on length size (<2, 2-6 and >6 mm) were kept in ringer solution (0,9 % Nacl) by temperature of 35oC. By using microscope the physical performances of the oocytes were observed and then classified into 3 different qualities of A, B and C/D. The oocytes of A ond B quality were kept in TCM-199 medium for maturity process. Their viability was described as percentage af oocytes which reach metaphase II (M-II). stage during the proces of maturity. The data was statistically analyzed by t-test. Results of the experiment showed that the physical measurement af ovaries were found significant diferent (P>0,05) between the left and right sides, but the potency of follicles from the both sides were not significant different (P>0,05). The percentage of oocytes reach the metaphase II stage was about 51,28 s/d 13,65 %. It was concluded that Simmental has a high the potency and viability oocytes for embryos production in vitro.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of extender and cooling rate on the quality of frozen thawed semen of Bali bull (Bos sondaicus). The experiment was conducted at Laboratory of Animal Biotechnology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University. A completely randomized design of factorial 2 x 3, 2 different extenders and 3 cooling rates with 3 bulls as the replicate. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The first factors was extender such as tris citrate egg yolk (TCEY) and tris citrate soy milk (TCSM). The second factors was the cooling rate such as: 15ºC/min, 10ºC/min and 5ºC/min. Variables were: motility, viability, abnormality, and membrane integrity. The results of treatment of TCEY extender on the average of motility 42.67±5.17%, viability of 53.78±3.79%, abnormality of 18.89±1.07%, and membrane integrity of 35.44±3.01%. The effect of cooling rate of 10°C /min has the highest semen motility of 44.35±5.28%, viability of 57.17±1.18%, abnormality of 17.84 ± 0.23 % and membrane integrity of 36.83±2.12%. The interaction between extender and cooling rate was founded significant different (P<0.05). Otherwise of extender and cooling rate on post-thawed of motility, viability and membrane integrity, had no difference (P>0.05) on semen abnormality. It can be concluded that tris-citrate egg yolk (TCEY) extender with cooling rate of 10ºC / min were the best semen motility, viability, and membrane integrity of spermatozoa.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan pada usaha peternakan sapi potong di kelompok Taruko Saiyo, Kelurahan Cupak Tangah, Kecamatan Pauh Kota Padang. Permasalahan dikelompok sasaran adalah adopsi inovasi oleh peternakan rendah karena kurang mendapat penyuluhan dan motivasi usaha anggota kelompok menurun. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah 1) Introduksi inovasi peternakan dan 2) Meningkatkan motivasi angota kelompok Taruko Saiyo dalam menjalankan usaha peternakan sapi Potong. Transfer pengetahuan pada kelompok sasaran di lakukan dengan menggunakan metode penyuluhan melalui pendekatan ceramah dan sosialisasi. Hasil dari kegiatan adalah terjadi perubahan perilaku sasaran terutama pada aspek koqnitif, yaitu perubahan pengetahuan anggota kelompok Taruko Saiyo dari tidak mengetahui jenis jenis inovasi peternakan menjadi tahu, baik itu inovasi pada aspek pakan, aspek reproduksi maupun inovasi dalam bentuk program dan kebijakan pemerintah. Terjadi peningkatan motivasi anggota kelompok sasaran yang tergambar dari bergabungnya kembali anggota kelompok yang sebelumnya sudah tidak aktif dari keanggotaan dan terpilihnya kepengurusan baru di kelompok Taruko Saiyo. Kata Kunci: Introduksi Inovasi, Inovasi Peternakan, Motivasi Usaha, Perbaikan Usaha, Usaha Peternakan ABSTRACT This community service activity is carried out in the beef cattle business in the Taruko Saiyo group, Cupak Tangah Village, Pauh District, Padang City. The problem in the target group is the low adoption of innovation by farms due to lack of counseling and decreased business motivation of group members. The objectives of this activity are 1) Introducing livestock innovations and 2) Increasing the motivation of the Taruko Saiyo group members in running a beef cattle business. Transfer of knowledge to target groups is carried out using extension methods through lecture and socialization approaches. The result of the activity is that there is a change in target behavior, especially in the competitive aspect, namely a change in the knowledge of the Taruko Saiyo group members from not knowing the types of livestock innovations to knowing, both innovations in the aspects of feed, aspects of reproduction and innovation in the form of government programs and policies. There was an increase in the motivation of target group members as reflected in the rejoining of group members who had previously been inactive from membership and the election of new management in the Taruko Saiyo group. Abstract

Kegiatan penyuluhan secara tidak langsung merupakan bagian dari upaya untuk mendukung pembangunan peternakan, melalui transfer ilmu dan teknologi diharapkan terjadi adopsi inovasi sehingga terjadi perubahan perilaku pada peternak, baik itu perubahan pengetahuan (koqnitif), perubahan sikap (afektif) maupun perubahan keterampilan (pisikomotor). Ilmu dan teknologi yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan penyuluhan ini adalah penguatan kelembagaan, motivasi usaha, reproduksi ternak, pemanfaatan limbah pertanian kakao sebagai pakan ternak dan pemanfaatan limbah kotoran ternak. Metoda yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode Penyuluhan melalui pendekatan ceramah/pidato, kunjungan rumah dan usahatani serta pendekatan demonstrasi, setelah dilakukan penyuluhan dilakukan pembinaan dan evaluasi terhadap kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi peternak, meningkatkan pengetahuan (koqnitif) dan keterampilan peternak (psykomotorik) dalam menerapkan suatu inovasi serta peternak mau dan mampu menerapkan inovasi (afektif) yang ditawarkan oleh oleh narasumber, sehingga pada gilirannya usaha peternakan sapi yang digeluti oleh peternak mampu meningkatkan pendapatan sehingga mampu memperbaiki perekonomian rumah tangga peternak. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menghasilakn beberapa perubahan pada peternak sasaran, seperti muncul keinginan untuk membuat kelompok baru dan mendaftarkan kelompok tersebut pada instansi terkait untuk mendapatkan legalitas keberadaan kelompok. Peternak sasaran kegiatan mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan terutama tentang tanda tanda birahi pada ternak sapi, pemanfaatan limbah pertanian kakao sebagai pakan ternak serta pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan limbah kotoran ternak untuk dijadikan suatu produk yang bernilai ekonomi.Kata Kunci: Penyuluhan, Inovasi, Perubahan Perilaku, Peternak sapi ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY OF CATCHERS IN THE AREA OF TRANSMIGRATION OF LUBUK AUR SITIUNG I DISTRICT DHARMASRAYAABSTRACT: Indirect counseling activities are part of efforts to support livestock development, through the transfer of science and technology is expected to occur the adoption of innovation so that there is a change of behavior in the breeders, whether it changes knowledge (koqnitif), attitude changes (affective) and skills changes (psykomotorik). The science and technology offered in this extension activity is institutional strengthening, business motivation, livestock reproduction, utilization of cocoa farm waste as animal feed and utilization of cattle dung waste. The method used in this devotional activity is the method of counseling through the approach of lectures / speeches, home visits and farming and demonstration approaches, after the counseling done coaching and evaluation of activities that have been done. This activity is expected to increase the motivation of farmers, improve the knowledge (koqnitif) and skills of farmers (psykomotorik) in applying an innovation and breeders willing and able to apply innovation (affective) offered by the speakers, so in turn cattle breeding business that is cultivated by farmers are able Increase the income so as to improve the household economy of farmers. The implementation of these activities resulted in some changes to the target farmers, such as the desire to create new groups and register the group with relevant agencies to obtain the legality of group existence. Target farmers experience increased knowledge, especially about the signs of lust in cattle, the use of agricultural waste cocoa as animal feed and knowledge of the use of cattle manure waste to be a product of economic value.Keywords: Counseling, Innovation, Behavior Change, Cattle ranchers

Abstract

Generally new students and new visitors in a building often experience difficulties when searching for a space, especially a building that has a lot of space. As well as having a complex space, both classrooms and staff workspaces. Usually visitors who have just entered the building's environment ask the security information parties or other visitors to provide information on classrooms or staff workspace sought. Another way for visitors to find information on conventional building space is available, but the alternative method requires a lot of time. For this reason, this study was made in the campus building, using NetBeans IDE software applying the closest path search algorithm based on the pixel index value on the map image. The system will display the closest landing map and information on the lecturer room staff room and lecture classrooms and search for lecturer data information. Likewise the search for staff and lecturers by writing their names in the search panel on the touch screen monitor. then pressing the "take me there" button, the system will show the direction to the workspace and provide staff information. To view announcement information, users simply select the announcement menu, then choose the announcement category. With this system, visitors are expected to have no difficulties in finding space and staff and campus information. The purpose of this study is to be able to provide a map of the direction of the building on campus from the position of the system to the classroom and the staff room and lecturer room. Besides that, it can also provide information about campus activities, announcements and even events to students and visitors, designed with an attractive interface that is easy to use. Abstract

Ipteks bagi masyarakat (IbM) pada kelompok ternak kerbau ini bertujuan untuk : 1) penguatan kelembagaan kelompok, 2) merubah perilaku peternak pada aspek koqnitif, afektif maupun pysikomotor tentang reproduksi ternak kerbau 3) introduksi teknologi pakan Urea Mineral Block (UMB), 4) pembuatan bak penampungan kotoran ternak kerbau dan gudang pupuk, dan 5) Motivasi semangat kewirausahaan peternak mitra. Sasaran program Ipteks bagi Masyarakat (Ibm) adalah peternak kerbau yang tergabung dalam dua mitra, yaitu kelompok ternak kerbau Antrada dan kelompok ternak kerbau Bungo Tanjuang Kabupaten Dharmasraya Sumatera Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penyuluhan dengan pendekatan ceramah, demonstrasi dan percontohan, dimana untuk kegiatan penguatan kelembagaan kelompok dilakukan dengan pendekatan ceramah, merubah perilaku peternak tentang reproduksi dan teknologi pakan dilakukan dengan pendekatan ceramah dan demonstrasi, sedangkan pembuatan bak penampungan kotoran dan gudang pupuk melalui percontohan. Hasil dari kegiatan program Ipteks bagi Masyarakat (IbM) ini adalah : 1) kelembagaan kelompok dapat diperbaiki terutama menyangkut legalitas kelompok dengan cara mendaftarkan kelompok ke instansi terkait dengan melengkapi persyaratan yang dibutuhkan seperti potocopy KTP anggota, susunan kepengurusan, jenis dan alamat usaha, selain itu juga disusun kembali pembagian jadwal untuk menggembalakan ternak setiap harinya serta konsekuensi yang harus diterima jika berhalangan hadir. 2) anggota kelompok mitra sudah mengetahui beberapa hal terkait dengan performace reproduksi seperti tanda tanda birahi, penentuan ciri pejantan unggul, induk unggul, cara mempersingkat jarak kelahiran, bioteknologi reproduksi. 3) bertambahnya keterampilan peternak dalam adopsi teknologi pakan seperti Urea Mineral Block (UMB) setelah dilakukan demonstrasi cara pembuatan dan demonstrasi pemberian UMB yang sudah dihasilkan dan. 4) berdiri sebuah bagunan baru berukuran 4 x 6 M yang akan dipergunakan untuk menampung kotoran seluas 4 x 4 m dan untuk gudang pupuk seluas 2 x 4 m, dan 5) Motivasi usaha peternak belum mengalami perubahan secara significant dan perlu bimbingan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Program IbIKK merupakan salah kegiatan pengabdian yang ditujukan melakukan impementasi sumber daya perguruan tinggi baik dalam bentuk ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, sumber daya manusia maupun prasarana dan sarana untuk mengembangkan semangat kewirausaahan. Salah satu bentuk kegiatan ini dilingkungan Universitas Andalas adalah kegiatan IbIKK pembibitan sapi potong. Program IbIKK pembibitan sapi potong dimulai pada tahun 2014 sampai 2016 dengan bantuan sumber dana Dikti dan bantuan dana dari Universitas Andalas. Dengan memanfaatkan pendanaan tersebut pada tahun pertama dimulai dengan memelihara sembilan ekor sapi induk lokal Pesisir dan melahirkan anak sebanyak 4 ekor dimana 1 ekor mati, disamping itu pada tahun 1 juga terdapat induk mati 2 ekor. Pada tahun kedua dilakukan peningkatan populasi sehingga jumlah induk yang dipelihara menjadi 16 ekor dimana satu induk mengalami kematian dan 2 induk mengalami potong paksa karena distokia, sehingga populasi induk menjadi 13 ekor. Jumlah total anak yang lahir pada tahun ini sebanyak 8 ekor dari 18 ekor induk (45 %) dan yang hidup 6 ekor. Pada tahun ini juga dilakukan penjualan anak sapi dan pupuk kandang dengan total pemasukan sebanyak Rp. 27.000.000,-. Pada tahun ke tiga dilakukan penambahan induk sapi sehingga populasi menjadi 19 ekor. Jumlah kelahiran anak pada tahun ketiga sebanyak 10 ekor dari 15 ekor induk (65%) dan yang berhasil hidup sebanyak 7 ekor. Perkiraan pendapatan tahun 3 adalah 3 ekor anak sapi layak jual seharga Rp. 27.000.000,- harga sapi potong paksa Rp. 5.000.000,- dan pupuk Rp. 6.000.000,- dengan total Rp. 39.000.000,-. Aset kegiatan program IbIKK saat ini tercatat induk sapi sebanyak 19 ekor dan anak sapi 13 ekor. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peluang untuk dikembangkan sebagai usaha yang dapat memberikan income generating bagi institusi, namun hasil yang diperoleh belum sesuai dengan proyeksi yang diharapkan. Konstribusi akademik dari kegiatan ini antara lain adalah sebagai sarana praktikum, Farm Experience dan penelitian.
