Abstract

Potential for the development of the mangrove crab business in the coastal area of the city of Langsa, which has a fairly large mangrove forest area and produces abundant mangrove crab resources. However, some of the results of the study stated that the exploitation and the absence of restrictions on the size of the capture of mangrove crabs resulted in a decrease in the number of catchments by fishermen because the condition of crab stock in nature has decreased. The purpose of dedication is to provide education and training to fishermen about selling mangrove crabs, which is more prioritized than fattening results from direct catches from nature, and to increase the production of mud crabs by utilizing local materials. The next goal is the management of crab capture. Implementation of dedication is carried out through socialization and training for coastal communities and fishermen in Sungai Pauh Tanjung Village, Langsa City. The results of the implementation of community service activities contribute to increasing skills and added value, as well as increasing the production of mangrove crabs through the use of Samudra being cages and the use of local materials as potential feed for fattening mangrove crabs before being sold at the market.

Abstract

Chef carp (Carassius auratus) is a freshwater ornamental fish that is one of the ornamental fish that is widely cultivated because it has a diverse body shape and has a variety of colors. The problem often faced by carp suppliers in the process of distributing fish with a closed fish transportation system is low survival pass. The use of such anesthesia materials is quite effective in closed transport systems. One of the natural compounds that can be used as an anesthetic agent is rotenon. The roots of tubal plants contain rotenon, a powerful poison for fish and insects. The method used in this study is an experimental method, this study uses Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repeats. The dose of tubal root extract used was P1 (control), P2 (0.10 ml / L), P3 (0.15 ml / L), P4 (0.20 ml / L). The density of fish per plastic bag amounts to 10 heads with a transportation time of 9 hours. The parameters observed were length of intoxication time, survival rate, length of time recovered consciously, oxygen consumption rate and water quality. Giving doses of tubal root extract with different doses had a significant effect (P<0.05). The highest survival rate value in P2 treatment with a dose of 0.10 ml and saving the rate of oxygen consumption with the right dose is in P4 with a dose of 0.20 ml / L ranging from 0.039 mg O2 / minute.

Abstract

Koi fish (Cyprinus carpio) is a type of freshwater ornamental fish that is in great demand because it has an attractive color pattern. Seed transportation activities are generally carried out at high densities which can cause fish to become stressed to the point of death. Prior to transportation, it is necessary to have anesthetic activities to find out how long the fish survive with a certain dose. The use of natural anesthetic substances has been widely used, one of which is rubber seed extract (Havea brasiliensi). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of rubber seed extract on the success of koi fish seeds. The research was conducted in January 2023. The research method used a completely randomized design, consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The results of this study showed that the higher the concentration of rubber seed extract given, the faster the test fish fainted. Whereas for the survival of koi fish seeds in the highest anesthetic success test, P1 (control) was 100% because at P1 no treatment was given, and the lowest result was in treatment P4 (5ml/L) of 62%.Keywords: Anesthesia, Rubber seeds, koi fish, oxygen consumption rate
