Abstract

Corporate sustainability communication has intensified as firms seek legitimacy amid rising stakeholder pressure and global sustainability agendas. However, the rapid growth of environmental marketing claims has increased concerns regarding deceptive sustainability communication or greenwashing. This study investigates the linguistic mechanisms underlying greenwashing by decoding deceptive green signaling and linguistic obfuscation in environmental marketing claims using Natural Language Processing. Despite increasing regulatory attention, greenwashing detection remains largely reactive and subjective, relying mainly on qualitative assessments. This study examines whether linguistic patterns and institutional signals can be used to explore the feasibility of NLP- Based greenwashing classification in corporate marketing narratives. This research introduces the concept of linguistic biomarkers of greenwashing, shifting the literature from perception-based evaluation toward exploratory NLP framework for greenwashing screening while integrating Signaling Theory and Construal Level Theory. The study analyzes 91 corporate environmental marketing claims using Natural Language Processing to extract linguistic features such as lexical vagueness and sentiment. Statistical tests and a Random Forest model were applied to identify linguistic patterns and predict greenwashing probability. Basic linguistic indicators such as word count and sentiment do not significantly distinguish greenwashing from authentic claims. However, environmental certification functions as a strong costly signal separating credible sustainability communication. Greenwashing detection requires combining textual analysis with institutional credibility signals. The study provides a computational framework for detecting deceptive sustainability communication.

Abstract

Women's leadership is recognized as a strategic factor driving organizational success through the formation of effective and sustainable team collaboration. Beyond simply directing, women leaders build a conducive work climate where team members are valued, engaged, and have equal opportunities to contribute. Across various sectors, they demonstrate the ability to manage team dynamics with a participatory, collaborative approach, and a focus on healthy interpersonal relationships. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to describe the role, benefits, and challenges of women's leadership in human resource (HR) development. Twelve articles published between 2020 and 2024 were selected based on the PICOC framework to ensure academic validity. The study results indicate that women's leadership is synonymous with a participatory style, empathy, and open communication that encourages time commitment, the flow of ideas, innovation, and productivity. Women leaders create a psychologically safe work environment, value differences of opinion, and encourage cross-functional collaboration. Their role is increasingly important in the era of flexible work and digital transformation, where empathy and communication are key to maintaining team motivation and productivity. However, challenges such as gender stereotypes, structural barriers, and cultural resistance still limit the effectiveness of women's leadership, especially in strategic positions and high-level decision-making. In many cases, women leaders still have to work harder to gain legitimacy, even though they have the same or even higher qualifications than their male counterparts. Addressing this requires more inclusive organizational policies, gender-based leadership training programs, mentoring, and consistent advocacy for equality. Companies and public institutions must actively create an ecosystem that supports women's leadership development, including equal access to strategic career opportunities.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This study examines the integration of multimodal data fusion combining natural language processing (NLP) and financial ratio analysis to test the Obfuscation Hypothesis and detect financial statement fraud in Chinese listed companies. The topic is compelling, as information asymmetry between management and investors is exploited through linguistic manipulation. The study also seeks to improve the reliability of AI-assisted fraud detection by integrating textual narratives with quantitative financial indicators. Background Problems: Financial statement fraud becomes difficult to detect when accounting figures appear normal while accompanying narratives obscure underlying anomalies. This study therefore examines whether the discrepancy between optimistic narratives and deteriorating financial performance can serve as a useful indicator of fraud risk. Novelty: This paper introduces "Financial-Linguistic Dissonance" as a novel theoretical construct, empirically demonstrating the threshold at which rhetorical obfuscation fails to mask financial decay, unlike prior studies analyzing textual and numerical data separately. Research Methods: Employing FinBERT for textual analysis and deep learning for multimodal fusion, this study analyzes annual reports from emerging market companies, combining Fog Index, tone metrics, and profitability ratios. Finding/Results: Linguistic features account for nearly 80% of the predictive power, with Financial-Linguistic Dissonance accounting for 27.13%, demonstrating that narrative manipulation provides stronger fraud signals than financial ratios. Conclusion: The multimodal framework achieves 94.7% accuracy, suggesting its potential as an AI-assisted tool for fraud-risk screening. Corporate language can provide measurable signals as an instrument of potential financial statement fraud, with practical implications for regulators, auditors, investors, and corporate boards to strengthen fraud-risk assessment.
