Abstract

This study investigates the effect of using sea sand as fine aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete. The experimental research involved preparing concrete samples with varying proportions of sea sand, comparing their performance against conventional river sand. Compressive strength tests were conducted on the samples at 14 days, revealing that samples containing river sand exhibited significantly higher compressive strength than those with sea sand. The average compressive strength for concrete with 100% river sand was found to be 18.23 N/mm², while the presence of chlorides in sea sand, despite washing, adversely affected the strength. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference in strength between the control and sea sand mixtures. While sea sand presents an environmentally sustainable alternative, particularly in coastal regions, its use requires careful consideration of chloride content to prevent corrosion of steel reinforcement. This study concludes that sea sand can be a viable option for non-load-bearing or temporary structures, provided that appropriate measures are taken to mitigate potential risks.

Abstract

Digital transformation driven by the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has changed the way MSMEs in Indonesia operate and compete in the market. The application of technologies such as e-commerce, big data, and analytics enables MSMEs to improve operational efficiency as well as expand their market reach. This research discusses the impact of the digital economy on MSME growth, as well as the challenges faced, such as a lack of digital literacy and limited infrastructure in rural areas. On the other hand, the Indonesian government has been working to encourage digital transformation through programs such as the National Movement for MSMEs to Go Digital, which provides access to training and technology support. In addition, collaboration between the public and private sectors plays an important role in accelerating technology adoption by MSMEs. The findings show that while the digitalization of MSMEs offers great opportunities to improve productivity and competitiveness, the adoption of these technologies is still constrained by various internal and external factors. Therefore, a holistic and collaborative approach is needed to support MSMEs in the digital transformation process. With comprehensive support, MSMEs are expected to contribute more significantly to the national economy and open up access to global markets. This conclusion shows the importance of a sustainable strategy to facilitate and support the adoption of digitalization in the MSME sector in Indonesia in order to realize inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Kelas Inspirasi is a movement aimed at inspiring students by inviting professionals to share stories about their professions. Kelas Inspirasi Seruyan, in collaboration with Pendidik Jahitan and professionals, aims to increase students' interest and knowledge about the profession of lecturers at SDN 1 Jahitan, Desa Jahitan. This program uses an initial survey method to identify students' levels of knowledge and interest, followed by the preparation of introduction materials about the lecturer profession tailored to the understanding level of elementary school students. The activities are conducted using various interactive methods such as presentations, interactive discussions, and simulations. The results of the program showed a significant increase in students' interest and understanding of the lecturer profession, with interest rising from 20% to 85% after the program. Interactive methods proved to be more effective than traditional lectures in increasing students' interest and understanding. These findings indicate that introducing professions through direct interaction with practitioners can be effectively implemented in various elementary schools, motivating students to aim higher and providing them with a strong reason to stay in school. Therefore, the author feels successful in carrying out the Community Service Program at SDN 1 Jahitan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the soil conditions at the construction site of the BNKP Hosiana Church by conducting cone penetration tests (CPT) as a basis for designing a safe and efficient foundation system. The CPT was performed to obtain cone resistance (qc), sleeve friction (fs), and friction ratio (Rf) across various soil depths. The results indicate the presence of three main soil layers: a soft clay layer at depths of 0–2 meters with low bearing capacity, a silt or stiff clay layer at 2–6 meters with moderate bearing capacity, and a dense sand or hard layer below 6 meters characterized by high bearing capacity. Analysis based on the Robertson approach suggests that shallow foundations are not recommended due to the weak surface soil conditions. Deep foundations, such as driven piles or bored piles, are considered the most suitable option to reach the competent hard layer capable of supporting the structural load effectively. Therefore, the cone penetration test proves to be an essential tool for strengthening the planning of the BNKP Hosiana Church building project, particularly in ensuring the long-term safety and structural stability of the facility.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technologies and advanced material innovations has transformed the field of modern civil engineering. This study examines the integration of smart infrastructure systems with innovative construction materials to enhance structural performance, sustainability, and resilience. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines expert interviews, case studies, and quantitative data from 30 infrastructure projects implemented between 2018 and 2024. The results indicate that smart infrastructure equipped with real-time monitoring, IoT sensors, and AI-based predictive analytics significantly reduces maintenance frequency by up to 40% and improves reliability through early detection of structural anomalies. Meanwhile, innovative materials such as self-healing concrete, fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP), and geopolymer composites demonstrate substantial improvements in durability, mechanical strength, and carbon footprint reduction—achieving up to 70% lower CO₂ emissions compared to traditional materials. Life cycle assessments further confirm the long-term economic benefits of implementing smart and sustainable systems, despite higher initial investment costs. The study concludes that the integration of intelligent technologies and next-generation materials constitutes a paradigm shift that supports global sustainability goals, enhances infrastructure resilience, and drives the transition toward smarter, greener urban environments.
