Abstract

Banyu Urip Mangrove Center (BMC) is one of the Mangrove tourist areas, which also has green mussel cultivation around it. Green mussels in this area tend not to be processed into preserved food products, but are only traded fresh. The price of fresh green mussels is very cheap, therefore it is necessary to increase knowledge regarding the diversification of processed green mussels to increase the added value of green mussels and the knowledge of mothers in the BMC area, Ujung Pangkah District, Gresik Regency. To solve this problem, the role of higher education is needed, including carrying out community service through outreach to mothers in the area. The purpose of this activity is to educate mothers about processed diversification and handling of green mussels. The method of implementing this activity consists of 3 stages, namely: preparation, implementation of counseling, and evaluation. The result of this activity was an increase in the knowledge of mothers about the variety of diversification of processed green mussels including: Green Mussel Shell Flour, Green Mussel Crackers, Condiment Pasta (Such as Oyster Sauce), Green Scallop Meatballs, Green Scallop Nuggets, and Chitosan. The mothers looked very enthusiastic about participating in this activity as shown by the very interactive questions and answers and discussions, as did the participants who remained in place until the end of the event.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : self awareness, mitigasi, bencana  AbstractMount erupt becomes a danger because it can harm both physically and non physically and the victims are not minimum. Self awareness becomes an indispensable attitude to building a community that is resilient and sensitive to disaster. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that most influence the self awareness of the community in conducting disaster mitigation. This research uses descriptive analytic design between variables with cross sectional approach. Population and sample in this research are All Population in Dusun Cemaralawang, Desa Ngadisari, Kec.Sukapura, Probolinggo A total of 673 with sampe simpe random technique, so get 250 respondents. Data collection using questionnaire. Based on the results of multivariate test, it can be seen that from 4 categories of factors that meet the criteria of logistic regression test, the factors that most influence self awareness from the biggest to the smallest is income factor with the strength of relationship (OR = 0.351), age (OR = 0.268) and education (OR = 0.044). Therefore, people with large incomes will have better preparation than people with low incomes. This is because with a large income they can use the funds they have for disaster mitigation efforts or in other words prevent the occurrence of disasters by doing good development. Thus the risk of disaster can be minimized. Keywords: self awareness, mitigation, disaster

Abstract

Kata kunci: support system, ketoasidosis diabetik, diabetes mellitus tipe 1  AbstractDiabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is an acute complication of type 1 diabetes mellitus which is characterized by dehydration, loss of electrolytes, acidosis and is caused by excessive ketone formation. This situation is the most serious and life-threatening metabolic disorder. However, the incidence of DKA can be prevented in several ways, one of them is correctly diabetic management. The study aims to identify family support in preventing diabetic ketoacidosis. A qualitative research design was used in this study with a phenomenology approach. Data was collected using unstructured interview techniques and then analyzed with Van Manen techniques. The results showed that family support system are by bringing food or drink supplies to the activities outside the home, communicating children's illnesses to other parties outside the home (school, neighbors, relatives), injecting insulin, supervising diet, and regular visits to hospital. Children with type 1 diabetes are at a very young age so that in case of diabetes care and management aredepent on parents as the responsible person in child care. Parental support to the children with type 1 DM are greatly affects to the prevention of complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis. Keywords: support system, ketoacidosis diabetic, diabetes mellitus type 1

Abstract

The blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) is a high-value fishery commodity that is extensively exploited by fishers in the coastal waters of Jumiang Beach, Pamekasan Regency, using collapsible traps (bubu lipat) as the main fishing gear, which belong to the trap category. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different bait types used in bubu lipat traps on blue swimming crab catches. An experimental method was employed with three bait treatments: A: pepetek fish (Leiognathus sp.), B: chicken intestines, and C: snails. Catch data were analyzed using an F-test. The results showed that pepetek fish bait yielded 25 crabs with a total weight of 2.115 kg, chicken intestine bait yielded 26 crabs with a total weight of 2.054 kg, and snail bait yielded 28 crabs with a total weight of 1.986 kg. Based on the F-test for catch numbers (individuals), a significance value of 0.147 (> 0.05) was obtained, while for catch weight (kg), the significance value was 0.072 (> 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that differences in bait type in the operation of bubu lipat traps did not have a significant effect on the number of blue swimming crab catches, either in terms of individuals or weight. These findings indicate that the choice among the three bait types used does not constitute a key differentiating factor in optimizing blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) catches with bubu lipat traps in the coastal waters of Jumiang Beach.

Abstract

Background: Death on Arrival (DOA) refers to patients who arrive at the hospital with no signs of life and are declared dead without resuscitation because death has already occurred. Many DOA cases are potentially preventable through timely and appropriate prehospital emergency care. This study aimed to identify determinants associated with DOA among patients presenting to the Emergency Department of Waluyo Jati General Hospital, Kraksaan, Probolinggo, Indonesia. Methods: A quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using secondary data from medical records of 70 DOA patients admitted between January and December 2024. Total sampling was employed to include all eligible cases. Independent variables comprised prehospital care, first responder capability, and type of initial case. Multivariable logistic regression was performed to determine factors independently associated with DOA, with results reported as odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: Inappropriate prehospital care was identified in 95.7% of cases, while 92.8% of patients did not receive assistance from a competent first responder. Multivariable logistic regression demonstrated that inappropriate prehospital management was the only independent predictor significantly associated with DOA (OR = 3.50, 95% CI = 1.29–9.48, p = 0.014). First responder capability and type of initial case were not independently associated with DOA after adjustment. Conclusion: Inadequate prehospital management is the principal determinant associated with DOA. Strengthening prehospital emergency medical services, improving response time and treatment quality, and enhancing first responder competency are critical strategies to reduce preventable prehospital mortality and improve emergency care outcomes
