Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of socialization, taxpayer compliance, and tax collection on Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) revenue in Regional Tax Sector I of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Batam City. The study used a descriptive, quantitative approach with a population of 323,830 PBB-P2 taxpayers and a sample of 100 respondents selected via simple random sampling. The instrument, in the form of a questionnaire, has been tested for validity and reliability, with all items demonstrating both. The results of the t-test show that socialization has a significant effect on PBB-P2 revenue (t count = 5.034; sig. = 0.000), taxpayer compliance has a considerable impact (t count = 8.191; sig. = 0.000), and tax collection also has a considerable effect (t count = 7.944; sig. = 0.000). Multiple linear regression analysis yields the equation Y = 5.163 + 0.090X₁ + 0.379X₂ + 0.981X₃, with a determination coefficient (R²) of 0.530, indicating that these three variables explain 53% of the variation in PBB-P2 revenue. The simultaneous F test shows a significant influence of the three independent variables on PBB-P2 revenue (F count = 98.537 > F table = 2.93; sig. = 0.000). This study emphasizes the importance of integrating socialization, compliance, and collection in increasing PBB-P2 revenue in Batam City.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of organizational support, job satisfaction, and employee engagement on employee performance at the Batam Kota District Office. In the context of increasing public service demands and administrative responsibilities, employee performance has become a critical factor in ensuring effective and efficient governance at the local government level. However, variations in employee performance indicate the presence of organizational and psychological factors that require empirical investigation. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population of this study consists of all employees working at the Batam Kota District Office, totaling 85 individuals, and the entire population was used as the research sample through a census technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to determine both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on employee performance. The findings reveal that organizational support, job satisfaction, and employee engagement simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Partially, each independent variable also shows a significant influence on performance, indicating that employees who perceive higher organizational support, experience greater job satisfaction, and demonstrate stronger engagement tend to exhibit better work performance. The coefficient of determination indicates that these three variables contribute 3.2% to employee performance, while the remaining 96.8% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The results highlight the importance of strengthening organizational support systems, improving job satisfaction through fair compensation and career development opportunities, and encouraging employee involvement in decision-making processes. These efforts are expected to enhance employee performance and support the achievement of high-quality public services. This study contributes to human resource management literature, particularly in the public sector, and provides practical insights for policymakers in improving employee performance within government institutions.

Abstract

The study purpose was to to analyze the effect of communication, work facilities, and service speed on community satisfaction at the Bengkong Sadai Village Office, Batam City. Public service institutions are expected to provide effective, responsive, and citizen-oriented services to ensure positive perceptions from the community. In the context of village administration services, the quality of communication between officers and citizens, the adequacy of work facilities, and the speed of service delivery become critical factors influencing public satisfaction. Understanding how these variables shape community perceptions is important for improving service quality and strengthening public trust in local government institutions. Materials and methods. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach with a survey method. The population consisted of 48,695 residents who had received services from the Bengkong Sadai Village Office. Using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error, a sample of 100 respondents was obtained. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. Prior to hypothesis testing, the research instrument was evaluated through validity and reliability tests to ensure measurement accuracy and internal consistency. Classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, were conducted to ensure the suitability of the regression model. Multiple linear regression analysis was then applied to test the research hypotheses using t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). Results. The findings reveal that communication (Sig.=0.029), work facilities (Sig.=0.032), and service speed (Sig.=0.041) each have a positive and significant effect on community satisfaction. These results indicate that clear information delivery, adequate service facilities, and efficient service processes contribute significantly to improving citizens’ satisfaction with public services. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influence community satisfaction (F-test Sig.=0.000). The regression model demonstrates a strong relationship (R=0.743) with an explanatory power of 55.2% (R²=0.552; Adjusted R²=0.538), indicating that more than half of the variation in community satisfaction can be explained by the variables examined in this study. Conclusions. Community satisfaction at the Bengkong Sadai Village Office is significantly influenced by the combined role of effective communication, adequate work facilities, and responsive service delivery. Improving these aspects in an integrated manner can strengthen the quality of public services and enhance citizens’ confidence in administrative institutions. Strengthening communication practices, improving service facilities, and ensuring efficient service procedures are therefore essential strategies for increasing public satisfaction and supporting sustainable improvements in local government service performance.
