Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of electronic marketplaces in Indonesia, coupled with government encouragement for businesses, necessitates a thorough understanding of sellers' adoption factors. This study investigates the influences on e-marketplace application adoption among active Indonesian sellers, incorporating gender, age, and experience as moderating variables. Employing SMARTPLS4 and PLS SEM analysis, the research identifies significant impacts of effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and price value on e-marketplace selling behavior. Contrarily, facilitating conditions and social influence show no effect. Age moderation significantly influences effort expectancy and price value, emphasizing the importance of tailored strategies for different age groups. Gender and experience, however, do not significantly moderate the results. Sellers' expectations emphasize the need for stakeholders to ensure fairness in online transactions, urging the government to establish appropriate e-marketplace regulations, aligning with sellers' needs for a thriving digital marketplace ecosystem.

Abstract

This research engaged in a comparative investigation of expatriate retirees' and younger expatriates' preferences in selecting healthcare facilities in Bali, applying a comprehensive analytical lens that integrated Maslow's needs theory, consumer behavior theories, and the theory of cultural acculturation.Data were gleaned through in-depth interviews from eight expatriates residing in the popular expat regions of Bali—Sanur, Ubud, and Nusa Dua—divided into retiree and younger age groups. The study found that expatriates' preferences, influenced by various personal, psychological, cultural, and social factors, are vital in their healthcare choices in a foreign land. Their ability to adapt to the local culture and healthcare system, coupled with a positive outlook and successful adjustment, plays a crucial role. It underscores the significance of comprehensive healthcare facilities and proactive government policies to meet the healthcare needs of expatriates locally. This study is distinct for using three theories: Maslow’s Need Theory, Cultural Acculturation, and Consumer Behavior, rarely combined in investigating expatriates' choice of health facilities in Bali. With well-executed strategies addressing expat needs, culture, marketing, staff training, and collaboration, healthcare providers in Southeast Asia can better serve expats, improving their satisfaction and well-being. This study's restricted participant count and qualitative approach can limit the extendibility of findings to a broader populace. The qualitative design's inherent subjectivity may introduce a measure of unintended bias during data interpretation. Moreover, the specific focus on Bali's expatriates might temper the relevance of the study's results to other geographical contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and examine SPBE Towards Bali Smart Island in the Provincial Government of Bali. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method with an inductive approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The results showed that SPBE towards Bali Smart Island has been going well and has implemented smart city development. However, ASN’s digital literacy and competence are still weak, post-pandemic regional budgets are not stable, cyberattacks, and the large number of application systems built by the center and each region are obstacles to implementing SPBE Towards Bali Smart Island. Strategies that can be implemented to overcome the obstacles encountered in implementing SPBE towards Bali Smart Island include: collaborating with pentahelix elements to hold local, national and global scale activities and events based on digital technology scale such as the Bali Digital Festival which is held every year; encouraging international investors to develop the digital technology industry in Bali so as to have a domino effect in developing smart city dimensions in realizing Bali Smart Island; forming an internal audit/assessor team to carry out periodic assessments related to SPBE development so as to create strong control and evaluation; optimizing the Cyber Lantern program using social media platforms in the form of providing training and sharing knowledge related to the use of digital technology, data security, technology ethics and so on as a medium for increasing digital literacy; forming the SPBE Forum throughout the Province of Bali to form integrated development of the Bali Smart Island program and hold training on the use of certified digital technology.

Abstract

This study explored the potential and barriers to implementing blockchain technology in Supply Chain Management (SCM). The purpose of the research was to determine the potential of implementing blockchain technology to enhance SCM performance, identify the challenges faced in implementing blockchain in SCM, and understand the constraints and obstacles that need to be overcome for successful implementation. The research method applied was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA protocol and the PICOC framework, with 73 papers collected from 2018 to June 2023. The study identified blockchain's potential to revolutionise SCM by enhancing traceability, transparency, efficiency, trust, and security. It also found that blockchain could support sustainability and anti-counterfeiting efforts. However, significant barriers exist, including technological challenges like immaturity, complexity, and scalability issues, as well as organisational and environmental hurdles such as lack of knowledge, high costs, and insufficient government regulation. To fully realise blockchain's benefits in SCM, stakeholders must address these barriers through targeted investments, fostering industry-wide collaboration, and establishing clear regulatory frameworks.
