Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional problem in Indonesia that is a cross-sectoral problem due to its complex and multifactor causal factors. The government has a role of involvement and capacity in stunting reduction interventions. One of the determinants of stunting in Aceh Singkil District is open defecation which is an indicator of WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) that contributes to the incidence of inflammatory diseases. This study aims to analyze the determinant of open defecation with stunting incidence in Aceh Singkil District. This study used a qualitative design with Focus Group Discussion data collection techniques for the regional working unit in Aceh Singkil District. The results showed that open defecation is still one of the causes of stunting in Aceh Singkil District where open defecation behavior still exists, such as digging landfills, flying toilets, and public bathing, washing, and toilet facilities in rivers. The problems related to this are the low level of proper drinking water facilities, the behavior of open defecation, and the lack of clean water sources. The conclusion is that there is a need for support from policymakers in improving specific interventions carried out by cross-sectors, especially the rules on Gampoeng for residents who are still doing defecation.

Abstract

Iron is one of the important minerals needed during pregnancy. Pregnant women who do not comply with taking Fe tablets may have the potential for anemia. This research aims to determine the factors that influence the compliance of pregnant women in consuming Fe tablets in Paya Peunaga Village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency. The type of research used is an analytical survey with quantitative methods, cross sectional design. The population of all pregnant women in this study was 71 people with a total sampling of 71 people. Data collection uses primary data by distributing questionnaires. The research results showed that there was no effect of age on the consumption of Fe tablets in pregnant women, p-value 0.307>α (0.05). There is an influence of education on the consumption of Fe tablets in pregnant women p-value 0.037<α (0.05). There is an influence of work on the consumption of Fe tablets in pregnant women p-value 0.023<α (0.05). There is an influence of knowledge on the consumption of Fe tablets in pregnant women p-value 0.002<α (0.05). There is no effect of parity on consumption of Fe tablets in pregnant women p-value 0.115> α (0.05). Maternal knowledge is the dominant factor influencing consumption of Fe tablets in pregnant women (p=0.012, OR=2.905). It is hoped that it can increase pregnant women's knowledge about the importance of consuming Fe tablets regularly so as to reduce the prevalence of anemia.

Abstract

Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM), was a condition in which pregnant women experience higher blood sugar levels than usual. This can affect the development of the fetus and the health of the newborn. The purpose of the reasearch was to analyze the gestational relationship of diabetes mellitus with the newborn's weight and height. The research method uses a quantitative method with cross sectional design, the sample represents a total population of 126 people, data analysis using a chi square test using the application of SPSS 21.0. The results of the study show that there was a relationship between GDM and weight with values (P Value =1,00 ≥ α :0,05 and RP = 1,00) and the length of the newborn with value (P value =0,695 ≥ alpha :0,05, RP = 2,00). An abnormal blood sugar level in the mother during pregnancy affects the nutrition received by the fetus so affecting the length of the baby. Important advice for mothers at the time of pregnancies to observe blood sugar levels at normal levels by paying attention to nutrition intake and stress management through regular consultation with the nearest health officials and health services on a regular basis during the pregnant, so that the baby is born healthy especially the length of the body.

Abstract

This study aims to see if there is a relationship between maternal parenting in toddler feeding and the incidence of stunting in Samatiga District, West Aceh Regency. Stunting is a condition of a person's height that is less than normal based on age and sex with a z-score value of less than -2 SD. Problem in this study is the high rate of stunting over the past three years, which is 23.7% of toddlers experiencing stunting from a total of 1,234 toddlers. This study used a cross-sectional survey design. Location and Duration of Research: this research was conducted in Samatiga sub-district in November 2023. Methods: this research is quantitative, with a population of all mothers who have toddlers 1,234 people. Sampling using the quota sampling method, where the pupolation was sampled as many as 93 respondents. Then the data was analyzed using univariate and bivariate and then tested with the Spearman Rank Correlation Model. Results: there is a relationship between feeding parenting patterns and the incidence of stunting in toddlers, namely with a value (Pvalue 0.000 <0.05). Conclusion: there is a relationship between parenting in feeding with the incidence of stunting, it can be proven by the correlation value r 0.567 which means there is a high closeness between parenting in feeding with the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Suggestion: It is hoped that the health center and other related parties will increase the motivation of mothers through education on the importance of good feeding parenting in fulfilling child nutritions
