Abstract

This study aims to analyze the support and role of parents in the literacy learning of elementary school children. The study examines various forms of parental support, including the provision of a conducive reading environment, active involvement in literacy activities, and collaboration with teachers. Through a systematic literature review method analyzing several articles, it was found that parental support significantly contributes to the development of children's literacy skills. Parents who are actively involved in their children's literacy learning can enhance their reading interest, reading skills, and self-confidence. The findings of this study highlight the importance of parental roles in supporting literacy education at home and suggest strategies that can be implemented to increase parental involvement in their children's learning process.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are an important aspect in teaching social studies to elementary school students. In the era of globalization and Industry 4.0, these skills are key in managing complex change. This article discusses the importance of developing critical thinking skills in elementary school students in the context of social studies learning. Critical thinking involves interpreting, analyzing, and evaluating information and experiences. This research uses literature research methods to analyze several journals that discuss critical thinking skills, student characteristics, and social studies learning in elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of using ice breaking in increasing students' learning motivation in primary schools. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach that focuses on learning motivation. Identification of literature sources is done through literature searches in academic databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and digital libraries. The results of the analysis show that the application of ice breaking in primary school learning has a positive and significant impact on students' learning motivation. Ice breaking can restore students' concentration and make them more active, enthusiastic, and focused in learning, so that it can improve their learning outcomes. Learning motivation is an important factor in learning, because it can affect various abilities and student learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers need to understand and foster learning motivation in students through ice breaking in the learning process so that students can succeed in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the Discovery Learning model in Class VA. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with four stages: planning, implementing, observing and reflecting using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects were teachers and VA class students, totalling 27 students, there were 17 female students and 10 male students. From the results of the RPP research in cycle I obtained qualifications (B) then in cycle II obtained qualifications (SB). In the first cycle, the assessment of teacher activity obtained qualifications (B) increased in cycle II (SB). In cycle I, the evaluation of student activity qualifications (B) increased in cycle II with qualifications (SB). assessment of student learning outcomes in cycle I obtained predicate (C) and cycle II obtained predicate (B). It can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model can improve student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning in grade V Elementary School.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' reading comprehension skills through the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was carried out in two cycles with the research subject of grade V students of UPTD SDN 03 Simalanggang, which consisted of 20 students. The results of the research conducted showed an increase in cycle I to cycle II, namely the percentage of average assessment of teaching modules in cycle I meeting 1 was 82%, cycle I meeting 2 increased to 89%, and in cycle II it increased to 96%. The average assessment percentage of teacher aspects in cycle I meeting 1 was 75%, cycle I meeting 2 increased to 83%, and in cycle II it increased to 96%. The average assessment percentage of student aspects in the first cycle of meeting 1 was 82%, the first cycle of meeting 2 increased to 85%, and in the second cycle it increased to 96%. The average assessment of students' reading comprehension skills in the first cycle of meeting 1 was 70.75, the first cycle of meeting 2 increased to 80.32, and in the second cycle it increased to 90.2. Thus, the implementation of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy can improve students' reading comprehension skills in elementary schools

Abstract

This research aims to improve procedural text writing skills using the Somatic Auditory Visual Intelectual (SAVI) learning model in grade IV of SD Negeri 01 Sungai Beremas, West Pasaman Regency. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research and is carried out in two cycles with the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were grade IV students of SD Negeri 01 Sungai Beremas, with data collected through test and non-test techniques, while research instruments were through test sheets and non-tests. Data analysis was carried out in a descriptive manner. The results show that the use of the SAVI model can significantly improve procedural text writing skills. First, in the first cycle, the average score in the aspect of the Teaching Module 90 with qualification (A) increased, which increased in cycle II, namely obtaining an average of 95 with qualification (A). The results of the observation of the teacher aspect and the student aspect of the first cycle of the first meeting obtained the same score, namely 83.33 with good qualifications (B) and increased in the first cycle of the second meeting to 87.5 in the aspect of teachers and students. The average score for teacher and student activities in the first cycle of meetings I and II was 85.41 with Good (B) qualifications. In the second cycle, scores for teacher activities were obtained of 95.83 and student activities of 95.83 with very good qualifications (A).
