The study focuses on using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluations) development model in the process of developing the assessment instrument. The objectives of this research are to evaluate the levels of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the assessment instrument. The research findings indicate that the developed portfolio assessment instrument meets the validity criteria with a score of 70, making it a valid instrument. Furthermore, it also meets the practicality criteria with an average score of 82.7, indicating that the instrument is highly practical in the teaching context. Moreover, the instrument is proven to be effective with an average score of 78, demonstrating its effectiveness in measuring students' abilities in writing explanatory texts. This research produces a portfolio assessment instrument that can be used in teaching the writing of explanatory texts for 8th-grade students at SMPN 34 Pekanbaru. The instrument is considered valid, practical, and effective in measuring students' writing abilities and can serve as a valuable guide for educators to enhance student writing instruction.

Abstract

Learning to read comprehension is considered very important. This is due to the fact that learning to read does not only play a role in improving children's language skills, but more than that, namely in improving students' abilities in studying other subjects. However, in fact, reading learning is still carried out for purely practical purposes, namely that students can answer questions based on the content of the reading text. The low effective reading ability of students at school is an illustration of the failure of reading learning carried out at school. This failure was caused by the various topics discussed in reading not being accompanied by reading strategies that could be used to approach the discourse. Therefore, there is a need to implement an authentic HOTS-based assessment model as a strengthening of reading comprehension learning. Authentic assessment guides learning through the creation of various learning activities carried out by students during learning process. HOTS-based authentic assessment provides a real picture of students' ability to read and provides a measure of achievement.

The data is analyzed by using Statistical Analysis Version 20. The results of research on the relationship of linguistic intelligence with the language skills of class X students in SMA Negeri 15 Kota Pekanbaru. Validity and reliability test results obtained 0.882> 0.6 and 0.903> 0.6 This means the instrument used reliable. The conclusion that Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient between two variables are linguistic intelligence variable (X) and language ability variable (Y). The obtained probability value Sig (2-tailed) is smaller than 0.05 ie 0,000 <0.05, then Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant relationship between linguistic intelligence with the language skills of learners. So the relationship between linguistic intelligence with language skills of class X students in SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru is 0.790. Abstract

The purpose of this article was to explore student involvement in teaching and learning, focusing on the experiences of third-year students in the Indonesian Islamic Education Study Program teacher program. Student involvement was defined as having three aspects: students exhibit active classroom participation, students influence the curriculum design, and students feel they are part of the community. The findings were reported based on interview studies and process analysis, the involvement of learning methods, and the motivation for student involvement. The findings revealed that students had multiple understandings of student involvement and that the level of involvement depended on student and lecturer involvement, expectations, and responsibilities. Student lecturers also linked student involvement to the use of teaching methods, learning, and their future professions as teachers of Islamic religious education. Students mainly discussed intrinsic motivation (beneficial for learning) for student involvement, but traces of altruistic motivation (civics learning) were also observed. Extrinsic motivation (university benefits), however, was absent. Voices of resistance to student involvement were also present; these students preferred lecturer-led education and were unaccustomed to high levels of involvement. Student understanding of engagement challenges the lecturer–student role in the education of teachers in Islamic religious education specifically, and in Islamic higher education in general. Acknowledging students’ diverse understanding of student involvement is important. Overall, based on student experience, involvement creates participation and the motivation to study here and now and for future professions. Studies show that student involvement has inherent value beyond the benefits of measurable outcomes, in which the use of teaching, engagement, and learning methods for future professions is promoted.

Abstract

Songs can be a means of communication that singers and songwriters want to convey to listeners about what they feel. In songs, there are song lyrics which are part of literary works which contain outpourings of personal feelings, emotions, and expressions of soul experiences in the form of an arrangement of words. One of them is the song lyrics on the album Naura & Genk Juara. The lyrics on the album contain many implied meanings, so analysis is needed using Schleimacher's Hermeneutics theory which is used to understand the meaning of the song from the psychology of the song writer. The aim of the research is to describe, analyze and interpret the psychology of the song lyrics on the album Naura & Genk Juara. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include (1) listening to the song carefully, (2) noting the song lyrics carefully, (3) understanding the psychological aspects of the song. Data analysis uses Schleirmacher's hermeneutical approach. The results of the research show that Schleilmacher's psychological interpretation on the album song Naura & Genk Juara describes enthusiasm and never giving up on being a champion, parents' anxiety about their children, preserving nature, annoyance with friends, motivation for having dreams, regrets for children who don't listen to their parents' advice, optimism about being a winner, and friendship.  At the psychological interpretation stage, it can be seen that the lyrics he wrote were created from phenomena that were occurring at that time, many Indonesian children were not mentally strong enough to face challenges in achieving their dreams, so lyrics emerged that provided motivation, besides that, many Indonesian children who do not want to listen to advice from their parents, causing regret.
