Abstract

The utilization of Artificial Intelligence has become an increasingly popular phenomenon among educators and learners including in Arabic language learning. Considering the wide accessibility and time efficiency, many individuals prefer to use AI as a learning resource without paying attention to the quality and validity of the data obtained. Based on this situation, this study aims to examine the accuracy of Arabic syntax rules (nahwu), especially in the maf'ūl bih chapter sourced from ChatGPT and compare it with the book Jāmi' ad-Durūs al-'Arabiyyah by Musthafā al-Galāyainī. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection method is done through literature study based on Klaus Kripendorff's content analysis technique. The analysis shows that ChatGPT is not only able to provide material about maf'ūl bih theoretically, but also includes interpretations in the form of perfect sentences. However, the AI chatbot has limitations in terms of the completeness and accuracy of the data presented. in general, the information sourced from ChatGPT is less detailed. In addition, the validity of the data generated is only found in the basic theory, namely in the sub-chapter on the definition of maf'ūl bih. Meanwhile, in a more in-depth discussion, namely the division and law of maf'ūl bih, the explanation presented by ChatGPT is not entirely accurate. This research is expected to contribute in opening a broader perspective on the importance of critical evaluation of the information generated by CHatGPT in nahwu learning, especially in the chapter of maf'ūl bih and provide new insights into the potential and limitations of AI technology in the context of Arabic l anguage education.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze interpretation of i’rāb in both ism and fi'il within the context of naẓam Alfiyah. Specifically, it explores how this uncertainty is influenced by the arrangement of jumlah ismiyah (nominal sentences) and jumlah fiʿliyah (verbal sentences) in naẓam Alfiyah. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach grounded in classical Arabic grammar analysis, the methodology involves data collection, classification, and subsequent analysis. The theoretical framework for this analysis is based on the concept of الجملة الاسمية تفيد بأصل وضعها ثبوت شيء لشيء ليس غير، وأمّا الجملة الفعلية فموضوعة أصلا لإفادة الحدوث في زمن معيّن. The findings of this study demonstrate that naẓam Alfiyah employs the structure of jumlah fi'liyah when explaining the sign of i’rāb in ism. This indicates that the sign of i’rāb in ism is not permanent and may change. The reasons for these changes in the i’rāb sign include: 1) the adjustment based on the type of ism, 2) the presence of additional huruf at the end of the ism, and 3) under certain conditions, the i’rāb sign may change even if the ism remains of the same type. In contrast to ism, naẓam Alfiyah utilizes two distinct structures for explaining fi'il. Jumlah ismiyah is used when discussing fi'il māḍi and fi'il amar, while jumlah fi'liyah is employed to explain fi'il muḍāri’. The reasons for naẓam Alfiyah applying the structure of jumlah fi'liyah to fi'il muḍāri’ are as follows: 1) in addition to possessing the mu'rab rule, fi'il muḍāri’ also follows the mabnī rule; 2) the sign of i’rāb is not determined by the type of fi'il, but rather by the additional huruf that follow fi'il muḍāri’; 3) The sign of i’rāb on fi'il muḍāri’ is influenced by the āmil that precedes it; 4) a fi'il muḍāri’ that is governed by the mabnī rule can revert to mu'rab when separated by alif taṡniyah, wāw jama', or ya' mukhāṭabah from nũn taukīd.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interpretasi hukum i’rāb ism dan fi’il dalam naẓam Alfiyah. Secara khusus, penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana ketidakpastian i’rāb ism dan fi’il terkait dengan susunan jumlah ismiyah (kalimat nominal) dan jumlah fiʿliyah (kalimat verbal) dalam naẓam Alfiyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang berakar pada analisis tata bahasa Arab klasik. Langkah metodologis meliputi pengumpulan data, klasifikasi, dan analisis data. Teori yang digunakan sebagai pisau analisis adalah الجملة الاسمية تفيد بأصل وضعها ثبوت شيء لشيء ليس غير، وأمّا الجملة الفعلية فموضوعة أصلا لإفادة الحدوث في زمن معيّن. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa naẓam Alfiyah menggunakan susunan jumlah fiʿliyah saat menjelaskan tanda i’rāb pada ism. Artinya, tanda i’rāb pada ism tidak bersifat tetap dan dapat berubah. Alasan tanda i’rāb pada ism dapat berubah, antara lain: 1) menyesuaikan jenis ism, 2) terdapat huruf tambahan di akhir ism, dan 3) pada kondisi tertentu, tanda i’rāb dapat berubah meski dari jenis ism yang sama. Berbeda dengan ism, naẓam Alfiyah menggunakan dua jumlah ketika menjelaskan fi’il. Jumlah ismiyah digunakan saat menjelaskan fi’il māḍi dan fi’il amar, sementara jumlah fi’liyah digunakan untuk menerangkan fi’il muḍāri’. Alasan naẓam Alfiyah menerapkan susunan jumlah fiʿliyah pada fi’il muḍāri’ adalah: 1) selain memiliki hukum mu’rab, fi’il muḍāri’ juga memiliki hukum mabnī, 2) tanda i’rāb tidak berhubungan dengan jenis fi’il, melainkan berkaitan dengan huruf tambahan yang terletak setelah fi’il muḍāri’, 3) tanda i’rāb pada fi’il muḍāri’ juga dipengaruhi oleh āmil yang terletak sebelumnya, dan 4) fi’il muḍāri’ yang berhukum mabnī dapat kembali menjadi mu’rab ketika terdapat alif taṡniyah, wāw jama’, dan ya’ mukhāṭabah yang memisahkan antara fi’il muḍāri’ dan nũn taukīd.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the effectiveness of learning media iSpring Suite android bassed in Nahwu Shorof lesson to increase student’s learning outcomes of VII (Female) class MTsN 2 Rejoso. The research method uses Research and Development (RnD) of 4D Thiagarajan. The research instrument uses observation, interview, and questionnares. The analysis data of pretest posttest uses a avarage value and Wilcoxon Test meanwhile questionnares uses a Likert scale. The questionnares percentage results from Nahwu Shorof learning with the teacher was 52,27% is categorized enough, meanwhile the interestsity for iSpring Suite learning media was 91,35% is categorized very good. The posttest average value 85,90 has better from pretest that has 44,49, Wilcoxon Test of pretest and post test is 0,000<0,05 indicates that the hypothesis is accepted. Bassed on the research results it can be said that the learning media iSpring Suite android bassed to increase student’s learning outcomes was effectived.  ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas media pembelajaran iSpring Suite berbasis android pada mata pelajaran Nahwu Shorof untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswi kelas VII (Putri) MTsN 2 Rejoso. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research and Development (RnD) jenis 4D Thiagarajan. Instrumen penelitian memakai observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Data penelitian berupa data pretest posttest dianalisis menggunakan nilai rata-rata dan Uji Wilcoxon sedangkan angket dianalisis menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil persentase angket mencakup efektivitas pembelajaran Nahwu Shorof bersama guru sebesar 52,27% masuk kategori cukup, sementara minat terhadap media pembelajaran iSpring Suite sebesar 91,35% masuk kategori sangat baik. Rata-rata posttest 85,90 menunjukkan lebih baik daripada pretest yang hanya sebesar 44,49, Uji Wilcoxon pada pretest posttest mendapatkan hasil 0,000<0,05 menujukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa media pembelajaran iSpring Suite berbasis android efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar. ملخّص البحثهدف البحث لتعريف فعالية الوسيلة التعليمية iSpring Suite  على أساس أندرويد في مادّة النحو والصرف لارتفاع إنجاز التعلم للتلميذات في الفصل الأول بالمدرسة المتوسطة الإسلامية الحكومية ٢ رجوسو. واستخدمت الباحثة طريقة البحث والتطوير (Research and Development)  في 4د تياغرجان. أدوات البحث ملاحظة ومقابلة واستفتاء. وتحليل البيانات من  والإختبار القبليّ (pretest)  والإختبار البعديّ (posttest)  بقدر المتوسط و Wilcoxon Test و الاستفتاء بمقياس ليكر (Likert).  أظهرت النسبة المثوية في استفتاء لفعالية دراسة النحو والصرف مع المدرس 52,27% دلّت على الكفاية بينما الاحتياجة على الوسيلة التعليمية iSpring Suite 91,35% دلت على جيد جدا. والقدر المتوسط في الإختبار البعديّ (posttest) 85,90 أحسن من الإختبار القبليّ (pretest) 44,49 و WilcoxonTest يعني 0,000<0,05 أظهرت الفرضية مقبولة. وقيل أنّ الوسيلة التعليمية iSpring Suite  على أساس أندرويد فعالية لارتفاع إنجاز التعلم.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence is a convenience and problem for students and educators. The purpose of the study was to provide an overview of Artificial Intelligence misinterpretation of Arabic language. This research is descriptive qualitative. The primary source is ChatGPT and the secondary source is Arabic books. The data collection of this research is document and data analysis by means of content analysis. The results showed that Artificial Intelligence can correctly describe theories related to Arabic. But in terms of interpretation, many errors were found. This finding is different from how Artificial Intelligence can interpret other languages more accurately. Therefore, the study of Arabic sourced from Arabic linguists remains the main source. This is due to the unique characteristics of Arabic that are difficult for Artificial Intelligence to detect. The results of this study can be used as a consideration of the use of Artificial Intelligence as a reference in explaining Arabic.

Abstract

The application of Artificial Intelligence technology has demonstrated significant potential in various fields, including Arabic language education. Despite the growing popularity of AI chatbots, studies on the accuracy of the content they provide remain limited. This research aims to assess the accuracy of the interpretation of Arabic syntactic rules (naḥwu), particularly the chapter on maf’ūl bih, as presented by Chatsonic, and to compare it with the explanation in the book Jāmi’ ad-Durus al-Arabiyyah by Muṣṭafā al-Galāyainī. This qualitative research employs a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through literature review, and data analysis followed the qualitative content analysis procedure as outlined by Klaus Krippendorff. The findings indicate that some theories regarding maf’ūl bih presented by Chatsonic align with Jāmi’ ad-Durus al-Arabiyyah, particularly in terms of definition, examples of maf’ūl bih in sentences, and certain general rules regarding the prioritization (taqdīm) and delay (ta’khīr) of maf’ūl bih. However, on more complex rules, such as the legal judgments concerning maf’ūl bih, its classifications, and the omission of maf’ūl bih from verbs of perception (af’ālul qulūb), inaccuracies were found. Additionally, discrepancies were identified in several aspects of taqdīm and ta’khīr, including a contradictory statement about the obligatory precedence of the subject (fā’il) over maf’ūl bih. These findings are expected to provide deeper insights into the effectiveness and accuracy of Chatsonic in Arabic syntactic rules, particularly in understanding the concept of maf’ūl bih.

Abstract

Chatsonic is an advanced Artificial Intelligence technology that has been widely utilized by students and educators to facilitate learning processes. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of Chatsonic in interpreting the concept of Ṭahārah based on the text Fatḥ al-Qarīb, analysing its strengths and weaknesses. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected from documents and analysed using the qualitative content analysis procedure developed by Philipp Mayring. The results show that while Chatsonic can explain certain aspects of Ṭahārah, there are several inaccuracies in its interpretation. For example, Chatsonic defines muṭlaq water as "pure water without any salt content", musyammas water as "water mixed with soil or dust", and musta’mal water as "water that can be reused for ablution". These definitions differ from the interpretation in Fatḥ al-Qarīb, where muṭlaq water is described as pure and purifying, without prohibition for use, musyammas water is pure and purifying but disliked for ritual purification, and musta’mal water is pure but cannot purify as it has already been used for ablution. This study provides further insight into the limitations of using AI technologies like Chatsonic to understand Islamic jurisprudence concepts, particularly in the context of Ṭahārah.

Abstract

Isu pengembangan program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab telah mendapatkan perhatian oleh para ketua/ koordinator program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab se-Indonesia. Beberapa agenda pun dicanangkan dalam rangka menyatukan langkah menuju perbaikan program secaran nasional. Salah satunya adalah kegiatan Rakernas dan Semiloka PPPBA Indonesia yang berlangsung di Malang pada tanggal 24-26 Agustus 2022. pada kegiatan tersebut dibahas tentang Best practice kurikulum PBA berbasis MBKM, Bedah instrumen akreditasi prodi dan Akreditasi internasional (Aqas). Di sisi lain, para ketua prodi PBA se-Indonesia saling bertukar program pengembangan yang dibuktikan dengan penandatangan MoU masing-masing Pengelola program studi. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa program studi PBA dari perguruan tinggi Islam se-Indonesia, terus bergerak dan bersinergi dalam rangka mengembangkan program sesuai dengan tuntutan zaman. Program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab IAIN Ternate sebelumnya juga terus berbenah dengan berusaha menciptakan bi’ah lughawiyah melalui kegiatan daurah arabiyah, rihlah ilmiah dan program stimulasi metode pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan library research sebagai bentuk kajiannya. pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif Seluruh data dan informasi yag diperoleh baik dari penelusuran literature terkait maupun hasil wawancara dan observasi, diolah dengan menggunakana analisi deskristif kualitatif melalui kerangka acuan deduktif. Kerangka acuan deduktif yang dimaksud adalah dengan menjabarkan informasi sekompleks mungkin kemudian diambil sebuah kesimpulan akhir yang mencakup keseluruhan data dan informasi terkait analisa pengembangan program studi pendidikan bahasa Arab di IAIN Ternate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bukti adanya upaya yang dilakukan oleh pengelola dalam mengembangkan program studi pendidikan bahasa Arab di IAIN Ternate. Program tersebut jika secara kontinu dilakukan, maka tentu akan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan menyenangkan bagi para mahasiswa PBA IAIN Ternate. Dengan terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, maka bukan tidak mungkin PBA IAIN Ternate sebagai satu-satunya penyelanggara Pendidikan Bahasa Arab di Provinsi Maluku Utara, akan menjadi salah program studi yang diminati di masa yang akan datang

Abstract

This study seeks to uncover the challenges of nahwu educators through an exploration of the difficulties faced by beginner learner students towards nahwu and an exploration of their expectations for nahwu educators. This type of research is a mixed method by combining qualitative and quantitative sequentially and is descriptive. Data collection by observation, open interviews, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis with 3 stages of Miles & Huberman while quantitative data analysis uses percentages. The results of the exploration of difficulties showed: 1] do not know the basics in nahwu (10%), 2] distinguish the names contained in nahwu (5%), 3] understand nahwu because there is too much material in one explanation (5%), 4] understand nahwu because explanations are not sequential (5%), 5] remember Arabic vocabulary (7%), 6] remember the rules in nahwu (39%), 7] apply nahwu to examples (29%). The results of the exploration of expectations showed: 1] explained repeatedly (14%), 2] after explaining the rules and giving examples (20%), 3] then applying them to Arabic texts or scriptures (22%), 4] explanations delivered more slowly and in a relaxed atmosphere (10%), 5] using the help of audio-visual media (20%), 6] using more interactive methods in explaining nahwu (12%), 7] adding naẓam/syi'ir nahwu then sung together, Easy to understand Nahwu references (2%). This research can be used as a foundation for nahwu educators to choose approaches, methods, and strategies in teaching nahwu for students with the same characteristics and students with different characteristics. This research is also the basis for nahwu educators to improve professional competence.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to reveal seven sections, namely the definition of nahwu, the identification of the term nahwu, its implications and section, the time of the development of the science of nahwu, and its status was purely Arab or influenced by other cultures of nations other than the Arabs, and the author of the first nahwu, and the reason for the emergence of nahwu, and the role of nahwu and its history in the development of Arabic language education. The model in this paper is explanatory. Its approach is qualitative. Data collection techniques are documents. The data analysis in this research followed four steps from Miles and Huberman. This research concludes that the definition of nahwu is the intention. It has nine other meanings. Defining the term nahwu is the change that follows the end of the word. As for the status of nahwu, there are two different opinions, and they are in the first version of Islam and nahwu is in the Arabs older than the first version of Islam. Scientists went on to develop the science of nahwu. First, they agree that the status of nahwu is purely Arabic. Second, they see nahwu as a transfer from the Greek language. Third, they believe nahwu was initially purely Arabic and later influenced by Greek philosophy. As for the first author of the science of nahwu, most scholars agree that the first author of the science of nahwu is Abu Al-Aswad Al-Du'ali by order of Ali bin Abi Talib. The reason for the emergence of nahwu is the distortion of the melody and the corruption of tongues after the spread of Islam and the mixing of Arabs with other nations that embraced Islam. As for the role of nahwu and its history in the development of Arabic language teaching, there are two opinions. The first mixed in the research of nahwu, derivation and morphology, or derivation and morphology. The second was in Arabic sciences three sciences. They are nahwu or grammar, derivation, and morphology. These three sciences are still taught and taught under one name, nahwu.

Abstract

In order to make continuous improvements and build a culture of quality in universities, especially in the implementation and development of study programs, each university should develop a strategy for developing study programs. Program development strategy is an important factor in the review or assessment of study program accreditation to determine the development of study programs that are in accordance with the National Higher Education Standards. (SN Dikti).  The method used in this study is a situation analysis using a SWOT analysis based on the performance indicators of the Study Program Management Unit or UPPS, which in this case is the Tarbiyah Faculty of IAIN Curup and the indicators of the study program, namely the IAIN Curup Arabic Language Education study program.  Data analysis is presented in the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) matrices.  The purpose of this study is to measure the position of the existence of the study program on the External Internal (IE) matrix, so that it can be used as a basis in formulating strategies for the development of the IAIN Curup Arabic language education study program. The results of the IE matrix measurement show that the IAIN Curup Arabic language education study program is in a growth position, with an IFE result of 3.2 and an EFE matrix of 3,045.  The development strategy of the IAIN Curup Arabic language education study program based on the results of the analysis focuses on 4 activities, namely: Study program development, Study program penetration, Product Integration and Development.
