Abstract

Bone implants are generally made of metal materials that have the strength and toughness to fuse broken or fractured bones, but they have the disadvantage of causing pain due to the metal's ability to absorb ambient temperatures and the relatively high cost of implant materials. Therefore, Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) reinforced with hemp fiber is needed. This study aims to analyze impact toughness and observations on fracture cross-sections. This study uses a composite of hemp fiber (SR) with a UHMWPE (UP) matrix, which will be made using the hot press method. The research method used is an experimental method to determine the effect of adding material mixtures by varying the volume fraction of the composite fiber. The volume fraction variations used included 3% SR: 97% UP, 5% SR: 95% UP, and 7% SR: 93% UP. The test specimens referred to the ASTM D5942 standard for impact testing. The impact test results showed that the highest impact toughness value was 0.0514 J/mm2 in the 3%SR : 97%UP variation and the lowest impact toughness value was 0.0478 J/mm2 in the 7%SR : 93%UP variation.  SEM observations of the fracture cross-section revealed failures caused by fiber pull-out, debonding, and matrix cracking.

Abstract

Serat rami dipilih karena memiliki sifat mekanik yang baik dan ramah lingkungan, sementara UHMWPE memiliki ketahanan yang tinggi terhadap abrasi dan benturan, serta sifat biokompatibilitas yang baik. Penggunaan kedua material ini diharapkan mampu menghasilkan komposit yang kuat, ringan, dan murah sebagai alternatif implan tulang. Penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi panjang serat rami yang diperkuat dengan matriks UHMWPE terhadap sifat mekanik dan fisik komposit sebagai potensi biomaterial untuk aplikasi bone implan. Material yang digunakan yaitu serat rami dan serbuk UHMWPE. Menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan perlakuan serat rami yang direndam dengan cairan natrium hidroksida 5% dengan waktu perndaman selama 1 jam dengam panjang serat rami 3 mm, 5 mm, dan 7 mm dan perbandingan komposisi yang digunkan serat rami 5% dan UHMWPE 95%. Komposit dibuat menggunakan proses hot press pada suhu 215°C dan tekanan 370 kgf. Pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi uji tarik dan foto makro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi panjang serat memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kekuatan tarik. Panjang serat 7 mm menyatakan nilai tegangan tarik tertinggi sebesar 17,53 Mpa, regangan tarik tertinggi sebesar 0,411, dan  Modulus elastisitas tertinggi diperoleh pada variasi panjang serat 3 mm sebesar 61,86 MPa. Dari pengamatan foto makro tersebut dapat diketahui kegagalan yang terjadi pada patahan uji tarik yaitu adanya serat yang terlepas (fiber pull out), terdapat retakan kecil yang di sebabkan tegangan rendah saat diuji tarik (microcracking), terdapat rongga yang di sebabkan adhesi antara serat dan matriks tidak cukup kuat sehingga komponen tersebut terpisah  (debonding).

Abstract

The IC Card (IC Card) manufacturing industry still widely relies on manual methods for firmware uploading into integrated circuits, a process that involves contract labor and basic tools. This method poses several limitations including low throughput, high labor dependency, and a significant risk of human error. These issues affect overall efficiency, product quality, and operational cost. The gap identified lies in the lack of automation in the firmware uploading process, especially within local industries. To address this, the present study aims to evaluate the impact of implementing an automated Firmware Uploading Machine with a capacity of 60 integrated circuits per minute. The research methodology includes a combination of engineering design and field performance testing. The proposed system employs servo motor technology, fiber optic sensors, and PLC-based control to replace manual handling. Experimental results indicate a six-fold increase in production capacity, substantial reductions in labor requirements, and improved operational efficiency. Furthermore, a Break-even point (BEP) analysis confirms that the return on investment can be achieved in a relatively short time. In conclusion, the automated firmware uploading system offers a practical solution for improving productivity, lowering operational costs, and enabling the industrial transition towards high-efficiency and smart manufacturing environments. Abstract

Occupational musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) often result from prolonged non-ergonomic postures, especially in educational and industrial bench work activities. This study presents an approach to classify ergonomic and non-ergonomic working postures using surface electromyography (sEMG) signals and machine learning. sEMG data were recorded from four upper limb muscles during simulated bench work conditions. Time-domain and frequency-domain features were extracted from segmented EMG signals using sliding windows. Dimensionality reduction was performed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and classification was carried out using logistic regression. The proposed system achieved an overall classification accuracy of 75% in distinguishing ergonomic and non-ergonomic postures. Visualization using PCA and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) showed clear class separation, validating the discriminatory power of the extracted features. While the small sample size and class imbalance were identified as limitations, the study demonstrates that a simple and interpretable model like Logistic Regression, when combined with proper feature engineering, can yield promising results.This work contributes to the development of low-cost, efficient, and interpretable ergonomic assessment tools. It is particularly relevant for vocational and educational environments where real-time posture monitoring and early prevention of MSDs are essential. Future research should focus on expanding the dataset, exploring deep learning methods, and implementing real-time wearable systems.

Abstract

An electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. One of its  important components is the armature which functions as the center of movement. Armature is paired with another component of electric motor. In order to achieve a good quality of electric motor, armature quality must be controlled through a standard experiment called balancing test. An adhesive material called putty will be added into armature if the balancing test result is not up to standard. This study conducted in one of automotive industry in Indonesia. The company face a problem in balancing test process. Putty addition carried by factory workers only based on their estimation, resulting in the mass of putty used not in accordance with predetermined standards and also inconsistent, so that the balancing process takes a long time. This research offer a solution for the problem, i.e. putty dispenser to replace the manual putty-picking process with a standardized semi-automatic one. The research objective is to analyze the quality and productivity of the putty dispenser tool design in the armature balancing process. Through 100 armature samples consist of type A and type B, this study examines the quality of the putty mass provided using the most frequently occurring value and uses the independent T-test method to examine the hypothesis that there is a real difference in cycle time before and after the putty dispenser tool. Frame strength testing was also carried out using Solidworks software simulation with 632 N loading. The results of the research on the putty dispenser tool are that the frame used is proven safe, a decrease in cycle time with a percentage of 34.16%, an increase in productivity of 34.13%, also improved quality through the aspects of %NG reduction of 42.29%, and a standardized and constant putty mass of 100 mg for armature type A and 200 mg for armature type B.

Abstract

A bionic leg with ergonomic functionality can increase the user’s independence. However, an ergonomic bionic leg can be challenged to be developed. One of its challenges is related to functionality, where the bionic leg motor can be rugged to adapt to the user. One of the solutions for the bionic leg challenge is the application of a motor driver controlled by the user’s muscle signal. EMG signal can be utilized as the user’s signal source. The EMG signal is then fed back into the motor device. EMG signals obtained during a natural walking environment can result in smooth and natural movement. This study classifies EMG signals into 8 classes: a controlled walking environment (treadmill walking with various speeds) and a natural walking environment (ground walking, upstairs and downstairs walking). This research aims to optimize the ANN method using transfer function variations. The best method will be used to train EMG-driven motors for future studies related to bionic legs. The best ANN parameter in this research using Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation as a training algorithm with transfer function pairing of the exponential function: Hyperbolic tangent sigmoid transfer function and SoftMax transfer function with 98.8% accuracy and 0.036 MSE value. The best method from the experiment and ANN classification can be used as a training method for a bionic leg in future research.

Abstract

Desa Candimulyo Kabupaten Wonosobo memiliki produk unggulan Gendar Jagung. Produk ini telah dikenal masyarakat luas dan jumlah permintaan produk semakin meningkat. Namun, pengelolaan usaha masih dilakukan secara konvensional baik dalam aspek produksi maupun manajemen. Urgensi dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah terselesaikannya permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat dengan pemberdayaan masyarakat mandiri ekonomi dan sosial agar tercipta ketentraman, dan kenyamanan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat serta meningkatkan keterampilan dalam bidang produksi dan pemasaran melalui penerapan IPTEKs. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian memberikan solusi kepada pelaku Usaha Gendar Jagung melalui perbaikan manajemen dan modernisasi sistem produksi sebagai strategi peningkatan produktivitas dan kapasitas produksi. (1) Penerapan TTG berupa 1 unit mesin pemecah dan penggiling gendar jagung, (2) Meningkatnya pelayanan mitra melalui penerapan 1 akun e-commerce, 1 akun sosial media, 1 logo produk, dan kemasan sebagai media pemasaran secara digital dan (3) Meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra menggunakan mesin penggiling dan pemecah jagung dan mitra mahir menggunakan aplikasi pemasaran digital. Metode yang digunakan: (1) Sosialisasi kagiatan, (2) Penerapan perbaikan manajemen dan modernisasi sistem produksi, meliputi: penerapan TTG berupa mesin pencetak gendar jagung dan penerapan aplikasi pemasaran digital, (3) Pelatihan dan pendampingan penggunaan mesin pecetak gendar jagung dan aplikasi pemasaran digital. Melalui serangkaian kegiatan PKM diharapkan mampu menciptakan masyarakat yang mandiri ekonomi serta meningkatkan taraf hidup dan kesejahteraan masyarakat Desa Candimulyo Kab. Wonosobo.

Abstract

Pemerintah Indonesia mencanangkan ekonomi hijau dan ekonomi digital sebagai Rencana Induk Riset Nasional (RIRN). UKM Rabersa yang telah malang melintang dalam pengembangan serat rami sebagai pengganti kapas untuk sustainability memberikan kontribusi ke dalam ekonomi hijau tersebut. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini memberikan urgensi berupa kontribusi dalam RIRN di bidang ekonomi hijau yaitu alat panen batang rami dan di bidang ekonomi digital yaitu manajemen alur supply chain produk serat rami berbasis website. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan solusi bagi mitra dalam hal proses panen batang rami melalui pengembangan mesin panen batang rami. Selain itu kegiatan pengabdian ini akan memberikan manajemen pendataan supply chain yang lebih modern bagi mitra dengan pengembangan manajemen supply chain berbasis website. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini antara lain: (1) Sosialisasi kegiatan, (2) Rancang bangun mesin panen batang rami, (3) Rancang bangun teknologi manajemen supply chain berbasis website, (4) Pelatihan dan pendampingan penggunaan mesin panen batang rami dan teknologi supply chain berbasis website, (5) Monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kontribusi dan kemandirian ekonomi mitra baik UKM Rami Rabersa dan mitra supply chain melalui penerapan ekonomi hijau dan digital ekonomi.

Abstract

Kabupaten Magelang merupakan wilayah yang cocok untuk kegiatan pertanian dan peternakan. Salah satu wilayah tersebut adalah Dusun Batur, Desa Purwosari, Kabupaten Magelang. Dusun Batur memiliki kelompok tani yang bergerak di bidang peternakan domba. Kelompok tani Dusun Batur memiliki kandang kelompok yang dikelola secara gotong royong oleh warga. Pengelolaan kandang kelompok Dusun Batur dilaksanakan secara konvensional dan manual, termasuk proses pemberian pakan domba. Pencacahan pakan domba yang dilakukan dengan tenaga manusia menggunakan sabit berdampak pada cacahan yang kurang lembut sehingga tidak termakan oleh domba dan menjadi limbah hijauan. Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut maka tim pengabdi bermaksud untuk mengimplementasikan teknologi tepat guna (TTG) mesin pencacah pakan dengan pisau putar horisontal melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini antara lain: (i) Identifikasi permasalahan, sosialisasi kepada pihak terkait, (ii) Rancang bangun dan penerapan TTG berupa mesin pencacah pakan hijauan, (iii) Pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada mitra terkait penggunaan dan perawatan mesin dan (iv) Monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan ini meliputi: Penerapan TTG berupa mesin pencacah pakan sebanyak 1 buah, peningkatan pengetahuan mitra mahir dalam penggunaan mesin, efisiensi waktu pencacahan (Berkurang sebesar 83%) dan pengurangan limbah hijauan yang tidak termakan oleh domba sebesar 95%. Rangkaian kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa implementasi TTG dapat menjadi salah satu solusi yang tepat untuk mengatasi permasalahan produktivitas di usaha peternakan.

Abstract

Seed inspection is crucial for plant nurseries and farmers as it ensures seed quality when growing seedlings. It is traditionally accomplished by expert inspectors filtering samples manually, but there are some challenges, such as cost, accuracy, and large numbers. Speed and accuracy were the main conditions for increasing agricultural productivity. Machine learning is a sub-science of Artificial Intelligence that can be applied in research on the classification of rice seed quality. The pipeline of a machine learning system is dataset collection, training, validation, and testing. Model making begins with taking data on the characteristics of rice seeds based on physical parameters in the form of seed shape and color. The dataset used is two thousand images divided into two categories, namely superior seeds and non-superior seeds. Training and Validation was conducted using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm with the concept of cross-validation on Google Collaboratory notebooks. The ratio split of train data and validation data in modeling from a dataset is 80:20. The result of the model formed is a model with the development of a Deep Convolutional Neural Network (Deep CNN) that can classify the digital image data of rice seeds from the results of data calls uploaded into the system. The results of the experiment conducted on 30 test data can be analyzed so that the system can classify superior and non-superior seeds with a precision value of 93% and a recall of 95%.
