Abstract

Perkembangan pendidikan kejuruan menuntut adanya inovasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Gambar Teknik melalui penerapan model Project Based Learning di kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan SMK Dhuafa Padang. Penelitian menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model John Elliot yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 14 siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes, kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan capaian kompetensi siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 72,31 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 57,1% (8 siswa tuntas). Pada siklus II meningkat menjadi rata-rata 81,85 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 92,86% (13 siswa tuntas). Penerapan Project Based Learning terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Gambar Teknik. Model pembelajaran ini mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif dan kreatif dalam menghasilkan produk gambar teknik yang berkualitas.

Abstract

Permintaan energi global terus meningkat, didorong oleh pertumbuhan populasi, pembangunan ekonomi, dan pola konsumsi energi. Namun, bahan bakar fosil merupakan sumber daya yang ketersediaannya terbatas. Energi terbarukan memainkan peran penting dalam mencapai ketahanan energi. Indonesia memiliki potensi energi terbarukan yang cukup besar. Energi angin cukup menonjol sebagai salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang signifikan. Salah satu cara untuk memanfaatkan energi angin adalah dengan menggunakan turbin angin. Turbin angin secara umum dibagi menjadi dua jenis, berdasarkan pada sumbu putarannya turbin angin sumbu horizontal dan turbin angin sumbu vertikal. Turbin angin crossflow merupakan salah satu jenis turbin angin sumbu vertical. Keunggulan turbin ini adalah torsinya yang tinggi memungkinkannya berputar pada kecepatan angin rendah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental. Variasi jumlah blade yang digunakan pada penelitian yaitu 6, 10, dan 14 buah. Pengujian dilakukan dengan bantuan fan sebagai penggerak turbin dengan kecepatan yang berbeda yaitu 5m/s, 5,5m/s, 6m/s, 6,5m/s, dan7 m/s. Dari pengujian di dapat hasil daya generator tertinggi diperoleh turbin angin dengan variasi sudu 14 yaitu 3,01 watt saat kecepatan angin 7m/s. Nilai TSR tertinggi diperoleh dari turbin angin dengan variasi sudu 14 saat kecepatan angin 7m/s. Efisiensi tertinggi diperoleh dari dari turbin angin dengan variasi sudu 14 dengan nilai 11,41% saat kecepatan angin 7 m/s. Turbin yang paling baik dan optimal pada penelitian ini turbin angin dengan variasi sudu 14. Karena dari seluruh aspek hampir mengungguli turbin dengan variasi jumlah sudu lainnya.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed human behavior, including education. Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang is one of those who feel the impact of the pandemic. Adjustments to education management are made to improve and ensure learning can occur properly. Online learning is not new, but the pandemic has made digital learning directly used as a solution to overcome this. Using a case study approach, this paper presents our experience in organizing online education at the Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang. The results showed that although online learning can be used in teaching and learning activities during the pandemic, it has not been able to replace practical learning. As the COVID-19 pandemic declines in Indonesia, the author wants to create one that can contribute to learning in the future. Using learning recordings with simulators, practicum recordings, and theoretical learning recordings is expected to help to learn.

Abstract

An analysis of the operational parameters of a small-scale electrical generation facility that uses the thermal energy contained in the flue gases from rubbish waste incineration is the goal of this study. To assess this system, the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) thermodynamic system was used. Since the organic fluid has a lower boiling point than water and can be evaporated with less thermal energy, it was chosen as a heat transfer medium instead of water. Aspen Hysys was utilized as a simulation tool, while R11 was used as the working fluid. To maximize the amount of available electrical output power, the plant's operational temperature, working fluid flow rate, and pressure are all maximized. According to the simulation's findings, flue gas may generate electric power between the ranges of 3.12 – 29.71 kW at working pressures between 2.5 and 3.5 bar and working fluid flow rates between 3.600 and 7200 kg/h when the temperature is between 50 and 95 oC. The system reaches a thermal efficiency of about 8.30 at 350 kPa of working fluid pressure.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the case method for improving student learning outcomes in the SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) subject. This research employs classroom action research. The subjects of this study are 11th-grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at State Vocational High School 1 Silaut, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Data collection techniques include observation sheets to assess teacher and student activities, tests to evaluate students’ knowledge, and documentation to support the research. The study results indicate that implementing the case method teaching model effectively improves student learning outcomes because students are engaged and interested in learning. This is evident in the learning outcomes in cycle 1, where 64.29% of students achieved passing grades, with nine passing, while 35.71% did not pass, with five students falling short. In cycle 2, student learning outcomes improved to 78.57%, with 11 students passing, while 21.43% did not pass, with three students not meeting the passing criteria. In conclusion, the case method teaching model effectively enhances student learning outcomes in the SMAW subject.

Abstract

The tradition of prohibiting the playing of talempong when rice plants are bearing grain is a form of local wisdom that continues to be maintained by the community of Nagari Unggan, Sumpur Kudus Subdistrict, Sijunjung Regency, and is believed to be associated with belief in orang bunian, who are thought to cause the rice to become ampo (empty grain) if talempong is played during critical growth phases. This study aimed to describe this tradition and analyse the social, spiritual, and ecological meanings embedded within it. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation during the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) community service program conducted from 17 June to 17 July 2025 in Nagari Unggan. Data were analysed using the Miles and Huberman model to organise, reduce, and present the findings systematically. The results show that the prohibition on playing talempong functions as a mechanism of social control, a form of respect for nature and ancestors, and an effort to protect rice crops during critical growth stages. This tradition also contains educational value for younger generations and remains relevant to be preserved amidst modernisation as part of strengthening local cultural identity and the community’s ecological ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the understanding of milling machining theory and work facilities on the practical performance of eleventh-grade students in the Machining Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 Lembah Melintang. The method used in this study is quantitative with a correlational approach. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and the distribution of questionnaires, then analyzed using simple regression and multiple regression. The results indicate a positive relationship between the understanding of milling machining theory and practical performance in milling machining, with a correlation coefficient of 0.357. Work facilities also show a positive relationship with practical performance, with a correlation coefficient of 0.242. Additionally, the results of the multiple regression analysis indicate that the understanding of milling machining theory and work facilities together positively relate to practical performance in milling machining, with a correlation coefficient of 0.402. The effective contribution of both variables to practical performance is 16%, with a relative contribution of understanding theory at 11.5% and work facilities at 4.5%. These findings suggest that improving theoretical understanding and providing adequate work facilities can enhance students' practical performance in milling.

Abstract

Vocational education is designed to develop skills, abilities, understanding, teamwork attitudes and an appreciation that includes the knowledge and information needed by a worker to enter and make progress in a useful and productive job. Factors that support the creation of quality graduates are found in the subjects of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship. This study aims to analyze the Implementation of the Project Based Learning Model on Learning Outcomes in Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKK) Subjects in Class XI of the Machining Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 2 Dumai. This research is a class action research (PTK) or often also called classroom action research. This Jhon Elliot model classroom action research consists of pre-cycle, first cycle and second cycle to achieve the desired results. This study uses an instrument in the form of an assessment rubric that is used to see student learning outcomes in creative product and entrepreneurship subjects with the application of project-based learning models referring to the results of projects made by students. Based on the results of research and discussion, class action research on the subject of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship in class XI Machining Engineering SMK N 2 Dumai can be concluded as follows. 1) Efforts to improve learning outcomes using project-based learning models in class XI TP in the subject of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship have been successfully implemented and are able to improve student learning outcomes at SMK Negeri 2 Dumai. 2) With the project-based learning model, teachers have other choices in determining learning models so that it can be a solution in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Blended learning using Google Classroom is a combination of face-to-face and online learning that utilizes the Google Classroom platform to facilitate interactions between students and teachers outside the classroom. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of implementing blended learning using Google Classroom. The study employs a quantitative method with a descriptive research design. It involves 27 students from the Grade XI Industrial Mechanical Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires and documentation The questionnaire in this study assessed five aspects: the use of Google Classroom, interaction in learning, technological accessibility, comfort and satisfaction, and the effectiveness of blended learning. The analysis results for each assessed aspect were as follows: the use of Google Classroom at 76.66%, interaction in learning at 71.29%, technological accessibility at 75.37%, comfort and satisfaction at 70.74%, and the effectiveness of blended learning at 68.51%. This indicates that students’ overall response to the effectiveness of blended learning using Google Classroom was 73.19%, categorized as effective.
