Abstract

Sunkist oranges (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck have a high content of anthocyanins (95% of which are cyanidin-3-glucoside and cyanidine-3-6"-malonyl-glucoside), flavanone (hesperidin and narirutin), as well as hydroxynamic acid (caffeic acid, cumaric acid, cinnamic acid, and ferulic acid), carotenoids, sugars, minerals, and fiber, considered a good food source of bioactive substances with beneficial effects on health. This study aims to examine the potential for liver improvement in mice with a diabetes model after the administration of nanoparticle granules combining sunkist orange peel and lime peel. The design of this experimental research is Post Test Only Control Group Design. Twenty-five male rats of the wistar strain were used which were divided into 5 groups at random, namely the negative control group (aloxan), the positive control group (aquadest), Treatment 1 (aloxan + nanoparticle granules 50mg/kgBB), Treatment 2 (aloxan + nanoparticle granules 100mg/kgBB) Treatment 3 (aloxan + nanoparticle granules 200mg/kgBB). The liver organ was prepared for observation with 10x ocular magnification and 40x objective lens magnification. Liver improvement had an effect on the decrease of SGPT, SGOT, and Histopathological picture of the liver in diabetic model mice after the administration of nanoparticle granules combined with sunkist orange peel and lime peel at concentrations of 50 mg/KgBB, 100 mg/KgBB and 200 mg/KgBB showed significant differences. The best liver improvement is by administering nanoparticle granules a combination of sunkist orange peel and lime peel at a concentration of 200 mg/KgBB. Abstract

Sebelum pengobatan, tikus diberi dosis oral glukosa 40%.

Abstract

Natural treatment is plant extract nanoemulsion. Forming nanoemulsions with a specific method may help skin wound healing. Fruit cardamom (Amomum compactum Sol. Ex Maton) was used as an antimicrobial, but its wound-healing activity was unstudied. This study compares nanoemulsion from cardamom seed ethanol extract to cardamom extract in suppressing bacterial growth, wound healing, and determining component makeup. Research methods with Lab experiments involve sampling, processing, extracting, and UV-VIS spectrophotometer testing secondary metabolite chemicals, creating nanoemulsions, and characterizing them with HPLC, FTIR, UV-VIS, and PSA. TPC and disc diffusion for antibacterial and wound healing characterization and SPSS analysis. The research results found high quantities of gallic acid, catechin, and epigallocatechin were found in 20% (v/v) cardamom extract nanoemulsion, with HPLC analysis showing levels of 4590.10 µg/mL, 2128.95µg/mL, and 755.42µg/mL, respectively. FTIR and UV-Vis tests indicate a single peak around the phenol compound's absorption area and describe its group by absorbing functional groups in the IR spectrum. Nanoemulsion suppressed E. coli and S. aureus better than cardamom extract. At 1% (v/v), nanoemulsion heals wounds faster than cardamom extract and gentamicin sulfate. The particle size of 53.13 ± 1.25 nm and particle size distribution of 0.56 ± 0.02 nm contribute to the stability and high activity of the nanoemulsion.

Abstract

The papaya (Carica papaya L) flower contain flavonoids, tannins, and triterpenoid steroids which function as antidiabetic. This study was conducted to determine the antidiabetic effect of papaya (Carica papaya L) flower extract on sucrose-induced male mice. In this study, mice were made diabetic by inducing them with sucrose at a dose of 160 mg/kg BW. A total of 25 mice were grouped homogeneously into 5 groups, consisting of a negative control group (CMC 0.5%), a positive control group (no administration), a group with a dose of 200 mg/kg BW, a group with a dose of 400 mg/Kg. BW, and the group with a dose of 500 mg/Kg BW. Measurement of blood sugar levels of mice was carried out before administration of sucrose, after administration of sucrose and after administration of papaya flower extract. The results showed that the three doses had an antidiabetic effect, and the administration of papaya flower extract at a dose of 200 mg/Kg BW showed a better effect than the negative control.

Abstract

The Condition of high blood sugar levels in people with diabetets appears to trigger an increase in LDL and decrease HDL level where in people with diabetes the energy obtained by the body comes from the decomposition of fat and protein metabolism.”Sunkist orange peel (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) is reported to have antidiabetic, anti-hypercholesterolemia, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of Sunkist orange peel ethanol extract (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) on blood sugar levels at doses of 500, 750 and 1000 mg/kgBB. This study used the True Experimental Pre-Test and Post-Test Control Group as research design where sunkist orange peel was extracted by maceration method and was given orally for 14 days to streptozotocin induced wistar rat with hypercholesterolemia. Statistical test results showed that ethanol extract of Sunkist orange peel was able to lower blood sugar levels and cholesterol levels of h streptozotocin induced wistar rat with hypercholesterolemia (p<0.05). The most effective dose of Sunkist orange peel ethanol extract in lowering blood sugar levels and cholesterol levels of streptozotocin induced wistar rat with hypercholesterolemia is 1000mg/kgBB.
