Learning is an essential foundation in the development of a nation so that the curriculum has a crucial position in ensuring the quality of education. Unfortunately, the curriculum that is often used tends to be uniform and lacks attention to the local wisdom of a region. On the other hand, literary works reflect local wisdom and can be a rich and interesting source of education. The purpose of this research is to narrate efforts to improve the quality of the independent curriculum through literature-based local wisdom. This research uses a qualitative model with an exploratory literature research approach. The results of this study show that local wisdom based on literary works applied in the education process makes the younger generation more able to master, appreciate, and defend cultural values, and protect local wisdom and strengthen national identity. Thus, through the Merdeka Curriculum, which seeks to apply and apply local wisdom based on literary works, it can develop humans who have in-depth knowledge of local wisdom, maintain cultural values, and build a strong personality for the future.

This research aims to analyze the heroic values in Malay heroic pantun and its relevance to the contemporary era through a stylistic approach. Pantun, as a form of traditional Malay oral literature, contains many cultural and moral values that can be used as references in understanding the concept of heroism in the context of Malay history and culture. This study uses a stylistic analysis method to identify and interpret the language style, structure, and symbols that reflect heroic values in the pantun. The results show that heroic pantun not only describes the courage and sacrifice of the warriors, but also highlights the importance of integrity, wisdom, and collective spirit in facing the challenges of the times. These values remain relevant and can be adapted in the context of the contemporary era, providing inspiration for the younger generation to appreciate and apply the principles of heroism in everyday life.

Poetry is an important record and translation of human experience, transformed into an important and interesting structure. One type of writing that is important to a wide range of people and ages in the public eye is poetry. There are certain people who are fond of composing poetry, not just understanding it. The language of poetry is usually free and not represented by rules. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the significance of a beautiful poem because of the many metaphorical dialects used. The focal point of this study is the poem “Sendiri” by Chairil Anwar. The problem centered by the author is limited to the importance of the words in the poem. By utilizing semantic studies that highlight grammatical meaning, lexical meaning, non-literal or figurative meaning and referential meaning, this exploration is expected to be able to understand the important meaning contained in the poem “Sendiri”. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. From the analysis conducted, the poem “Alone” can be examined using semantic examination. This poem talks about the feeling of isolation and silence.

Leila S. Chudori's novel Pulang recounts the characters' experiences reconciling their identities after returning from political exile abroad. This research aims to analyze the process of post-exile identity reconciliation experienced by the characters in the novel. This research employs a narrative analysis method, incorporating a postcolonial study approach. Data were obtained from the text of the Pulang novel and analyzed qualitatively. The results show that the process of reconciling the post-exilic identity experienced by the characters in the novel Pulang includes three main aspects: (1) acceptance of the dual identity formed during exile, (2) negotiation of local and global identities, and (3) efforts to rediscover cultural roots and personal history. The post-exile identity reconciliation process depicted in Pulang reflects the complexity of individuals' experiences and inner struggles during political exile. We expect the results of this study to offer fresh perspectives on identity dynamics and the effects of political exile within the framework of post-New Order Indonesian society. The findings can also contribute to a broader discussion on the impact of historical events on the formation of individual and collective identities.

Background of the problem: During the colonial period, the struggle for independence in Indonesia encompassed sacrifices, warfare, and diplomatic efforts. Despite the traditional and localized nature of early 18th-century women's resistance movements, this study scrutinizes the significant influence of individual pioneers on the wider struggle. Purpose: This research aims to elucidate the character values and fighting spirit embodied by Cut Nyak Dien, an iconic pioneer of women's resistance in Indonesia. Historically, regional fighters in the archipelago primarily resisted 18th-century colonialism to defend religion and state sovereignty. Method: Employing a historical research methodology with a library study approach, this study reveals that Cut Nyak Dien's fierce loyalty, indomitable spirit, and steadfast faith profoundly reflect the inherent kindness and courage of her people. Result: Her struggle exemplifies a relentless, unyielding resolve against colonial rule, inspiring subsequent generations of Acehnese and other Indonesian women to continue the resistance. Implication: The findings underscore Cut Nyak Dien's critical role in shaping the trajectory of women's involvement in the Indonesian independence movement, establishing a powerful legacy of resilience and leadership against colonial oppression.
