Abstract

Generation Z is a digital consumer group that has a significant influence on market direction, especially in the beauty and skincare industry. Their characteristics of being closely connected to social media, responsive to trends, and having a preference for social values and personalization, demand more adaptive marketing strategies. Influencer marketing and customer experience are two strategies frequently used to reach this group. However, the relative effectiveness of each strategy remains an open question, especially in a local context such as Medan City. Therefore, this study is important to provide a data-based understanding of the influence of these two factors on skincare purchasing decisions, while identifying the most dominant variables. This study aims to: (1) analyze the influence of influencer marketing on skincare purchasing decisions among Generation Z in Medan City; (2) analyze the influence of customer experience on purchasing decisions; and (3) examine the dominant factors that influence these decisions. The method used is a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique, through the distribution of closed questionnaires. The collected data will be analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS software because the variables studied are latent variables. The research results can be concluded that: (a) Influencer marketing has been shown to have a significant influence on skincare purchases among Gen-Z, and (b) Customer experience also has a significant influence on purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The beauty sector demonstrates ongoing expansion and ingenuity annually. The beauty industry is presently expanding rapidly, with a steady influx of new brands emerging and evolving; beauty products within Indonesia encounter rivalry not just from local companies but also from global entities. Sociolla. id exists to offer an easier way for Indonesian consumers to acquire beauty products, but it faces difficulties due to insufficient financial technology services that could benefit customers and a need for more modern marketing tactics, like influencer marketing. This research focused on Sociolla. id customers, utilizing a sample size of 110 individuals. The findings reveal that financial technology has some effect on how well people know the Sociolla. id brand. The research also found that influencer marketing has a partial impact on how well people know the Sociolla. id brand. The study's data indicates that financial technology has a combined impact on the recognition of the Sociolla. id brand. The R Square (R2) statistic, or coefficient of determination, indicates that financial technology and influencer marketing together account for 79.7% of the variability, while the remaining 21.3% is impacted by other variables not included in the research model, such as cost, product attributes, and perceived worth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of influencer marketing and consumer trust simultaneously or partially on the repurchase intention of local fashion products in Medan Helvetia District. The method used was descriptive quantitative with a questionnaire survey distributed to 100 consumer respondents aged 18-35 years in the research area. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS software through instrument validity and reliability tests, normality, multicollinearity, and multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis showed that influencer marketing had a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention with a regression coefficient of 0.427 (t = 4.844, p < 0.05), as well as consumer confidence which made a significant positive contribution with a coefficient of 0.466 (t = 4.817, p < 0.05). Simultaneously, the two variables were able to explain 60.8% variation in repurchase intent (F = 75,145, p < 0.05), while the rest were influenced by other factors outside of this study. These findings provide empirical evidence for local fashion businesses to prioritize long-term collaboration strategies with influencers as well as efforts to strengthen consumer trust to increase loyalty and sustainable sales growth.
