Abstract

In the agricultural industry today, a lot of tools with automatic transmission have become primary needs for many people. To be able to operate a rice threshing machine, one that can support the running of the tool is the pulley and V-belt on the driving machine. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the pulley and V-belt on the rice thresher with the Matari MGX-390 gasoline engine so that it meets the required criteria and applicable standards. Due to the important role of the V-belt and pulley components, this study will discuss calculations in the design of V-belt and pulley components for a rice thresher with a Matari MGX-390 gasoline engine. The method used is direct observation, to see directly the shape and specifications of the rice thresher machine as well as the Matari MGX-390 gasoline engine used, also to record the dimensions of the pulley and V-belt so that further analysis is carried out on these components, and it can be seen whether the pulley and the V-belt used can be declared safe. Then calculations are carried out to determine the type of V-belt used, V-belt length, maximum voltage, demand voltage, and service life on the V-belt used. Based on the results of the research and calculations that have been carried out, it shows that the V-belt used by the rice thresher with the Matari MGX-390 machine can be declared safe with the type of V-belt used as type A, with a length of 1,649.74 mm, a maximum tension of 138.8 N, voltage requirement 121 N, service life 14,055 working hours.

Abstract

The gears in the transmission system only get a twisting moment, there is teeth contact between the pinion and gear. Contact between rough teeth can causing non-uniform contact forces between teeth and other teeth, caused when planning is not thorough. The design of the helical gear includes calculating the dimensions, safety factor, and stresses that occur on the machine elements. This must be considered in designing helical gears so that they can be used properly. The results of the design of the helical gear pair use a 1.5mm module, a pinion head diameter of 27.2 mm while the gear is 75.4mm, the torque that occurs is 0.84 kgf, and the stress that occurs on the pinion gear is 8.33 kgf/mm2 then the gear 21,08 kgf/mm2.

Abstract

Saat ini kebutuhan bahan papan terus mengalami peningkatan. Biasanya bahan papan ini merupakan bahan yang diperoleh dari kayu-kayu yang berasal dari hutan. Meningkatnya pemakaian kebutuhan akan papan ini dapat memberikan pengaruh yang kurang baik, yaitu hasil hutan terutama bahan kayu lama kelamaan akan semakin berkurang. Ketergantungan akan bahan kayu harus segera ditanggulangi, agar tidak mengurangi hasil hutan. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggantikan kayu dengan material lain untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kayu pada bidang perumahan. Material lain yang digunakan ini tentunya harus mempunyai kualitas yang lebih unggul atau tidak kalah dengan produk kayu hutan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh temperatur terhadap pembuatan papan komposit sekam padi berbasis limbah HDPE menggunakan metode hot press. Uji fisis dilakukan dengan pengujian foto makro sedangkan uji mekanik dilakukan dengan pengujian tarik yang mengacu pada standar ASTM D 638-01. Hasil penelitian struktur makro papan komposit menunjukan bahwa pada temperatur 210oC, papan komposit memiliki rongga lebih sedikit dibandingkan dengan temperatur dibawahnya, maka kenaikan temperatur berpengaruh terhadap kondisi struktur papan komposit. Nilai kekuatan tarik cenderung menurun dengan bertambahnya temperatur, kekuatan tarik tertinggi pada temperatur 170oC sebesar 11,630 MPa dan terendah pada temperatur 185oC sebesar 8,835 MPa.

Abstract

Material komposit merupakan material yang tersusun dari dua gabungan atau lebih material, yang mana menghasilkan suatu material baru dengan sifat-sifat material yang lebih baik dari material dasar sebelumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat mekanis dan sifat fisis serat sabut kelapa serat bambu matriks epoxy sebagai material bumper mobil. Komposit dibuat menggunakan lima variasi fraksi volume yaitu 5% serat sabut kelapa: 15% serat bambu: 80% matriks, 10% serat sabut kelapa: 10% serat bambu: 80% matriks, 15% serat sabut kelapa: 5% serat bambu: 80% matriks, 0% serat sabut kelapa : 20% serat bambu : 80% matriks dan 20% serat Sabut kelapa: 0% serat bambu: 80% matriks dan karakteristik sifat fisis meliputi data densitas, swelling, dan serapan air. Hasil pengujian sifat fisis komposit pada swelling, dan serapan air menunjukkan bahwa komposit yang dibuat telah memenuhi klasifikasi JIS A5908, sedangkan densitas komposit masih belum memenuhi klasifikasi JIS A5908. Hasil pengujian tarik pada komposit menunjukkan bahwa nilai kekuatan tarik maksimal yang paling besar diperoleh pada fraksi 20% serat bambu : 0% serat Sabut kelapa : 80% matriks dengan nilai 95,578 MPa, yang mana diikuti penurunan kekuatan tarik pada fraksi volume 5% serat sabut kelapa: 15% serat bambu: 80% matriks, 10% serat sabut kelapa: 10% serat bambu: 80% matriks, 15% serat sabut kelapa: 5% serat bambu: 80% matriks, dan 20% serat sabut kelapa: 0% serat bambu: 80% matriks Komposit yang dianalisis masih layak digunakan sebagai material pembuat bumber mobil karena kekuatan tariknya tidak kurang dari standar bumper mobil yaitu 8,09 MPa.

Abstract

Penggunaan perahu sering terjadi banyak insiden kecelakaan yang disebabkan oleh cuaca, ombak yang tinggi, maupun perahu yang tidak memenuhi standar keselamatan. Selain itu, faktor teknologi pendukung keselamatan dan kenyamanan juga menyebabkan kapal tenggelam dan terguling. Sehingga dapat mengakibatkan korban jiwa, perlu adanya solusi terkait penanganan masalah perahu yang terbalik akibat gulungan ombak. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah penambahan komponen berupa gyroscope stabilizer yang berfungsi untuk menstabilkan sudut kemiringan akibat gelombang yang bergulung. Metode ini dibagi menjadi 2 tahap utama yaitu perancangan fisik-elektronika, dan pengujian menggunakan faktorial lengkap. Pengujian menggunakan variabel dependent berupa sudut kemiringan perahu, sedangkan variabel independent berupa tinggi ombak yang diuji dan kecepatan flywheel dari gyroscope stabilizer yang diaplikasikan dengan masing-masing tiga level dan tiga pengulangan. Hasil pengujian dilakukan analisis variansi dengan hasil yang dicapai yaitu tingkat kemiringan terbesar pada kecepatan flywheel 0 rpm, dengan tinggi gelombang 10 cm menghasilkan sudut kemiringan 3-4 derajat. sedangkan variasi parameter yang sesuai untuk menstabilkan perahu yaitu 2500 rpm dengan rentang sudut kemiringan perahu yang dihasilkan antara 0,55-1 derajat kemiringan. Kesimpulannya adalah semakin tinggi ombak membutuhkan semakin tinggi kecepatan flywheel sehingga semakin kecil sudut kemiringan perahu yang dihasilkan, namun apabila terlalu tinggi kecepatan flywheel mengakibatkan tidak optimal kinerja gyroscope stabilizer.

Abstract

The ability of an industrial company to produce a product will certainly depend on the ability of the machine used as a tool to produce every part of the product. Over time, increased market demand must be accompanied by an increase in production rates. Where this requires industrial companies to have high productivity, especially in the machining parts used in the production process. We can measure this effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, which is often used to measure the productivity of the machine or equipment used. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the average value of Overall Equipment Effectivities (OEE) on a stamping machine is 39.9%.

Abstract

Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) is a facility development project to increase the capacity of oil refineries, one of which is by building Pipe Rack. When making Pipe Rack with steel structure, time estimation is needed so that the fabrication process flow can run according to the planned time. One of the fabrication processes is the process of cutting profile steel using a Bandsaw machine. The estimated time of cutting profiled steel using a Bandsaw machine can be determined by the values that affect the cutting process so that initial data such as the value of cutting speed, feeding motion, sawblade type, and the type and dimensions of profiled steel to be cut are required. After knowing the initial data, the calculation of the estimated cutting time can be known with several equations. In the initial data, the feed motion is 5 mm / rotation with a sawblade length of 7600 mm and the dimensions of the profile steel to be cut are 400x200 mm. The machining time is 21.14 minutes with a cutting speed of 15,099.34 mm / minute. After obtaining the cutting speed value on the bandsaw machine, the estimated machining time of several variations of profile steel dimensions and different bandsaw machine feed motions can be determined. From the simulation results of several variation values of cutting speed and feeding motion, the longest cutting time is 21.28 minutes with a cutting speed of 15000 mm/minute and 47 minutes with a feeding motion of 2 mm/rotation. Meanwhile, the fastest cutting time is 10.64 minutes with a cutting speed of 30000 mm/min and 10.43 minutes with a feeding motion of 9 mm/rotation.

Abstract

AbstrakRoda gigi pada sistem transmisi hanya mendapatkan momen puntir, terdapat kontak gigi antara pinion dan gear. Kontak antar gigi yang kasar dapat menyebabkan ketidakseragaman gaya kontak antar gigi dengan gigi yang lainnya, disebabkan karena ketika melakukan perancangan tidak teliti. Perancangan roda gigi miring meliputi menghitung dimensi, faktor keamanan, dan tegangan yang terjadi pada elemen mesin tersebut. Hal tersebut yang harus diperhatikan dalam melakukan perancangan roda gigi miring agar dapat dipakai dengan baik. Hasil perancangan pasangan roda gigi miring diperoleh modul 1,5mm, diameter kepala pinion 27,2mm sedangkan gear 75,4mm, torsi yang terjadi sebesar 0,84 kgf, dan tegangan yang terjadi rodagigi pinion sebesar 8,33 kgf/mm2 lalu roda gigi gear 21,08 kgf/mm2. Kata Kunci : Roda Gigi MiringAbstractThe gears in the transmission system only get a twisting moment, there is teeth contact between the pinion and gear. Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company consisting of several departments, one of which is machining and assembly. The ongoing industrial developments make companies compete to innovate the best in order to survive and compete with similar companies. Consumers will have morechoices in choosing products because there is more competition in the business world. Therefore, in order to remain competitive and be able to survive longer than competition with other products. The purpose of this research is to determine various types of defects, the causes of defects, and provide replacement suggestions for improvement. The research results show that there are types of defects in the trunnion parts on the assembly line. Based on the fishbone diagram, the factors that cause product defects are human, machine and method factors. The proposal given in this research is to make parts or make tools such as the Go Nogo Jig Dummy Spring on a conveyor machine that is attached.

Abstract

Coconut trees are plants that are easily found in tropical areas such as Indonesia; therefore, natural products are abundant, but the use of waste from coconuts has not been processed into technological products. The aim of this study was to determine the differences in the variations in the volume fraction of fibers during tensile and impact strength testing. The variations in the volume fraction used were 5%, 10%, and 15% fiber, and the chemical treatment of the fiber was alkalized using 20% ethanol for 3h of soaking. Composite manufacturing uses a hand layup method with random fiber orientation. The results of the research on variations in volume fraction of 5%, 10% and 15% obtained test values, in tensile testing such as maximum load obtained 32,844 kgf, 106.44 kgf and 105.59 kgf, maximum stress 6.0510 N/mm2, 16,893 N/ mm2 and 17.249 N/mm2, elongation breaking strain 0.8150, 0.3275 and 0.2617, breaking strain 1.4818 %, 0.5955 % and 0.4758 %, for the tensile test value the impact energy value was found tobe 1.6 kgf, 2.3 kgf and 3.3 kgf and impact prices of 1.84 kJ/m2 , 2.45 kJ/m2 and 3.45 kJ/m2 . The high tensile and impact test results were due to mixing coconut fiber which had gone through ethanol alkalizing treatment with coconut charcoal powder to obtain high impact and tensile values
