Abstract

Utilizing secondary data gathered on a monthly basis spanning 2014–2024 sourced from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Bank Indonesia, the World Gold Council, and the Geopolitical Risk Index, this investigation employs a quantitative framework. The analytical procedure involved multiple linear regression estimated via Ordinary Least Squares, preceded by stationarity assessments, classical assumption checks, and heteroskedasticity correction through robust standard errors. The objective was to scrutinize the influences of inflation, exchange rates, global gold prices, and geopolitical risk on the Jakarta Islamic Index. Findings reveal that inflation and geopolitical risk exert no statistically significant impact on the index. In contrast, the exchange rate demonstrates a negative and significant effect at the 5% level, whereas global gold prices exhibit a positive and significant effect at the 10% level. Collectively, these four determinants significantly influence the Jakarta Islamic Index. The model's coefficient of determination shows that 10.97% of the index's variability is accounted for, with the remainder attributable to factors beyond the model. These outcomes offer valuable insights for investors making decisions in the Islamic capital market by considering macroeconomic conditions and global risk.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of pocket money and Islamic financial literacy on student consumption behavior at SMAS AL-KAHFI Islamic Boarding School. The research background is based on the importance of students' understanding of personal financial management, especially in the context of pesantren based education that integrates sharia values. The research method used was quantitative with a multiple linear regression approach to test the relationship between free variables (sharia allowance and financial literacy) and bound variables (consumption behavior). The population in this study is all students of SMAS AL-KAHFI which is 675 people. A sample of 60 students was selected using the Hair et al. formula, with data collection techniques through questionnaires as primary data sources and literature studies as secondary data. Data analysis is carried out with the help of statistical software to test the validity, reliability, and significance of relationships between variables. The results of the study show that simultaneously, pocket money and Islamic financial literacy have a significant influence on students' consumption behavior. Partially, allowances have a positive and significant effect, showing that the larger the allowance received, the higher the tendency of students to consume. Meanwhile, Islamic financial literacy has a positive but insignificant effect, which indicates that understanding of Islamic finance principles has not fully affected students' consumption patterns in real terms. A determination coefficient of 85.5% indicates that both independent variables are able to explain most of the variation in students' consumption behavior, while the rest are influenced by other factors outside the model. This research contributes to the development of Islamic finance education in the pesantren based school environment and becomes the basis for wiser management of pocket money among students.

Abstract

Abstract

Investment in various financial instrumens such as stocks, gold, and cryptocurrency continues to grow in line with changes in global market conditions. One crucial aspect of investment is understanding return volatility, as high volatility can indicate greater risk for investors. The ARCH/GARCH model has become a widely used method in volatility analysis to capture fluctuations in financial asset prices. This study aims to examine whether the ARCH/GARCH model can explain and predict the return volatility of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), gold, and Bitcoin. This research employs a mixed-method approach, where the quantitative method applies the ARCH/GARCH model to analyze the volatility of these three investment instrumens, while the qualitative method involves documentation studies to analyze the opportunities and challenges of cryptocurrency as a halal asset. The findings indicate that the ARCH/GARCH model can explain the return volatility patterns of JII and gold. However, Bitcoin was not included in the ARCH/GARCH modeling. JII exhibits the highest volatility compared to the other two instrumens, whereas gold demonstrates characteristics of a safe-haven asset with lower volatility.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of the BAZNAS Microfinance Desa (BMD) program on the economic welfare and religiosity of Female Heads of Households (PEKKA) in West Java. Using a mixed-method approach with SEM-PLS analysis and the CIBEST model involving 151 respondents, this study examines the influence of business capital, mentoring, and training. The SEM-PLS results indicate that business capital does not have a significant partial effect on economic welfare, whereas mentoring and training have a significant positive impact, with mentoring being the most dominant variable. Furthermore, the CIBEST analysis confirms the program's success through a drastic reduction in absolute poverty (material and spiritual) from 61 to 6 individuals, alongside a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries in the prosperous quadrant. The study concludes that financial assistance must be bundled with intensive mentoring to ensure sustainable economic independence and spiritual strengthening for PEKKA.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between concentration and efficiency in the Indonesian Sharia general insurance industry and to identify the direction of causality between variables. A quantitative approach is employed using data from 2018–2023. Market concentration is measured using the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index (HHI), while efficiency is estimated through Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The dynamic relationship is analyzed using a Vector Autoregression (VAR) framework, including stationarity testing, optimal lag selection, and stability testing. The causal relationship is further investigated using Granger causality. The findings indicate that although market concentration demonstrates a gradual upward trend and efficiency levels vary across firms, the Granger causality analysis provides no evidence of a statistically significant causal relationship between the two variables. Specifically, neither market concentration Granger-causes efficiency nor efficiency Granger-causes concentration. The findings imply that market structure, as reflected by concentration levels, does not directly determine efficiency performance in the Indonesian Islamic general insurance industry. This suggests that firm-level factors such as managerial capability, resource allocation, and operational strategy play a more critical role in driving efficiency than external market concentration. Thus, policymakers should focus on strengthening firm competitiveness and operational performance rather than relying solely on market structure adjustments. The novelty of this research lies in integrating concentration and efficiency with VAR Granger Causality approaches to analyze the dynamic interaction between market concentration and efficiency in the Sharia general insurance industry.
