Abstract

The result of learning process can be seen using scores from the exam as a result for evaluating the learning quality. This study focused on comparing the learning outcomes in Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya (UMTAS) students especially one class in Information Technology Education Program between face-to-face learning and online learning. The learning process is observed in order to gain some insight about the difference number of academic performance and student’s perception between face-to-face online learning. The comparative results of this research will be described through data visualization using R programming language. Data visualization using R programming language will result in form of numbers summary data and graphics. The results of this study showed that the exam score and student’s perception after face-to-face learning is higher than online learning. This study shows around 93% students from Information Technology Education Department demanded more face-to-face in class than online learning.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the impact of social media on children's ability to think critically in different global cultures, given the increasing dominance of the social media role in everyday life. Using a qualitative approach and exploring a wide range of relevant literature, the study examines how social media affects critical thinking skills, including access to information, resource evaluation, analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving. This study was carried out from three cultures in Indonesia such as the Batak, Sunda, and Java tribes, then made a distinction with several cultures of the United States, Britain, South Korea, Australia, and Europe revealing a consistent negative impact although varying according to local cultural values. The findings of this study confirm the need to develop a digital education strategy that considers the cultural context to enhance children's critical thinking skills in the digital age.

Abstract

Inclusive Education was born as a response to increasingly exclusive educational needs. Inclusive education is an educational program that aims to provide opportunities for all students, both normal and those with physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and social and economic disabilities (ABK) to learn together in one class and school without discrimination or treatment. bullying. The aim of this research is to provide recommendations and information to stakeholders of the inclusive education program regarding the process of successful implementation of the program in the field, as well as developing social competency modules and social competency instruments to be used as teaching materials in inclusive schools. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. The case study research focuses on case studies regarding inclusive education at SDN Lebak Bulus 02 Pagi. Data collection used in this research was interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research obtained information that; The implementation of the inclusion program at SDN Lebak Bulus 02 is still experiencing obstacles, especially special educators or special assistant teachers (GPK) who are not yet available, in addition to that, supporting facilities for children with special needs are not yet available optimally, thus hampering the learning process for students with special needs.

Abstract

To realize Indonesia Emas, where digitalization is prevalent across various fields today, it is essential to cultivate computational thinking skills through mathematics learning. This study evaluates the effectiveness of interactive media in enhancing mathematical problem-solving skills among senior high school students. Utilizing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, 60 grade XII students from a high school in Jakarta participated in this research over one semester. Interactive media, including computer applications and educational games like "MathQuest" and "Puzzle Logic," were employed to make learning more engaging and challenging. Data collection methods included classroom observations, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and analysis of pre- and post-intervention test results. The findings indicated a significant improvement in problem-solving skills, with a 25% increase in the average final test scores compared to initial tests. Additionally, 85% of students reported heightened motivation to learn. The study underscores the importance of integrating interactive media into mathematics teaching strategies to improve students' problem-solving abilities. It recommends incorporating technology into the learning process to maximize the academic potential of students. More research is suggested on the use of interactive media in mathematics learning to achieve innovative and optimal results.

Abstract

Anak usia dini mengalami pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang sangat pesat terutama pada aspek perkembangan moral. Perilaku anak yang mengalami problem dalam perkembangan moral dapat dicontohkan ketika anak berani mengambil mainan temannya tanpa izin. Masalah yang perkembangan moral tersebut sangat berkaitan dengan keperibadian yang melekat pada diri anak. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui dampak dari pembentukan karakter anak yang dilakukan orang tua serta mengetahui apakah pola asuh menjadi faktor utama baik buruknya karakter anak. Penelitian ini tergolong kedalam penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode observasi alami. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode angket, studi kepustakaan dan observasi. Adapun instrument penelitian yang digunakan yakni lembar kuisioner sikap dan prilaku siswa. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak yang mengalami hambatan dalam perkembangan moral, khususnya pada karakter yang negatif adalah diakibatkan oleh pola asuh orang tua yang tidak sesuai dengan tingkat perkembangan anak. Faktor lain selain pola asuh orang tua juga diakibatkan oleh kondisi lingkungan sekolah dan kesenjangan antara pola asuh yang dilakukan guru di sekolah dengan pola asuh yang dilakukan orang tua di rumah. Realitas ini mengakibatkan anak kesulitan mengembangkan potensi, bakat dan kreativitasnya sehingga berdampak pada perilaku negatif yang tidak terkontrol baik dari pengawasan guru maupun orang tua.

Abstract

Peningkatan derajat kesehatan masyarakat sangat dipengaruhi oleh penerapan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS), terutama di lingkungan sekolah. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai PHBS melalui pendekatan Fit for School yang mengintegrasikan praktik kebersihan dengan edukasi kesehatan berbasis Islam. Kegiatan ini meliputi ceramah kesehatan, praktik cuci tangan enam langkah, diskusi interaktif, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam menerapkan kebiasaan hidup sehat. Sebelum edukasi, hanya 40% siswa yang memahami cara mencuci tangan dengan benar, sedangkan setelah edukasi, persentase ini meningkat menjadi 90%. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam mengikuti kegiatan, baik dalam sesi edukasi maupun praktik langsung. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan berbasis praktik lebih efektif dibandingkan hanya metode ceramah dalam meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap PHBS. Oleh karena itu, implementasi PHBS dengan pendekatan Fit for School dalam perspektif Islam direkomendasikan untuk terus diterapkan di lingkungan sekolah guna membentuk pola hidup sehat yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Understanding physics concepts is vital for junior high school students, yet many eighth graders struggle with measurement, heat effects, and temperature changes. This study evaluates the effectiveness of interactive media in enhancing physics understanding using the Borg and Gall model within a Research and Development (R&D) framework. Involving 50 students from a Bandung junior high school, the study employed educational software and interactive simulations over one semester. Data collection included in-depth interviews and pre- and post-intervention tests. Results indicated a 30% increase in average test scores, with 90% of students reporting heightened motivation and engagement. Tools like “Physics Explorer” and “Heat Dynamics” significantly improved active participation and conceptual grasp. The study advocates incorporating interactive media into physics curricula to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research focuses on efforts to understand the influence of digital learning media on students' learning motivation in science subjects at the elementary school (SD) level. This research is a systematic literature review that evaluates the effectiveness of using digital learning media in science teaching from 2020 to 2024. The theories bridged include visual learning theory and learning motivation theory, which are integrated into teaching practice through instructional videos, animations, and multimedia presentations. This research reviewed 11 studies involving elementary school students from various regions and countries, with a total participation of 1401 students. The research results show that using digital learning media in science teaching can significantly increase student motivation and engagement. However, this media application still faces various challenges, such as the need for teachers to understand technology, limited access to digital tools, and inadequate training. For instance, some teachers reported difficulty navigating the software, while others needed help incorporating the media into their lesson plans. These challenges can lead to inconsistent implementation and limited effectiveness of digital learning media. To address this, the research recommends increasing specific training for teachers on using digital learning media, providing more comprehensive access to these technologies, and supporting policies that encourage technology integration in science curricula. Thus, this research emphasizes the importance of integrating digital learning media in science teaching to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. This research also proposes concrete steps for implementation, such as ongoing training programs for teachers and regular evaluation of the effectiveness of using digital learning media in the classroom.

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of modern life and has a complex impact on various aspects of life, including education, health, psychology, and the economy. However, vulnerable groups that experience digital access and literacy gaps are often disproportionately affected. This research aims to explore in depth the impact of social media on vulnerable groups in the context of digital inequality. This type of research is qualitative descriptive with a literature study approach. The subjects in this study are in the form of relevant secondary data sources, such as scientific journals, institutional reports, and reliable articles. The data collection technique is carried out through literature review, while the data analysis uses thematic analysis to identify the main patterns and themes of social media impact. The results show that social media has positive potential in increasing educational participation and access to information, but it also poses risks such as exposure to negative content, mental health disorders, and strengthening the digital divide, especially in individuals from low economic groups and with limited digital literacy. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of systematic interventions in the form of strengthening digital literacy, equitable access to technology, and inclusive content regulation. The implications of the results of this study encourage the need for strategic policies to ensure safe, equitable, and empowering use of social media in supporting education and the welfare of the community at large.

Abstract

Digital transformation in health education opens up innovative opportunities to improve clean and healthy living behavior skills in the adolescent population. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of education through digital media in improving clean and healthy living behavior skills in guidance studio students in Malaysia. The research method uses a mixed-method approach with a participatory action research design that integrates cooperative learning as the main strategy. The subjects of the study involved 32 students of Sanggar Bimbingan Kampung Pandan Malaysia consisting of 18 male students and 14 female students with an age range of 12-16 years. The intervention was carried out for 12 weeks using the "PHBS Digital Learning" application platform that integrates interactive multimedia features, quizzes, virtual simulations, and group discussion forums. Data collection was carried out through validated pre-test and post-test instruments with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.847. The results showed a significant increase in the composite knowledge score of 56.0% with a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 4.22), while practical skills increased by an average of 63.2% across all indicators. The digital platform facilitated 847 discussion posts with high engagement levels, reaching an average usage duration of 47.3 minutes per session. The transformation of student attitudes experienced a substantial increase from an average score of 2.3 to 4.2 on a scale of 1-5, with behavioral sustainability maintained by up to 78.1% of students in the follow-up evaluation. This study proves that digital media has high effectiveness in improving clean and healthy living behavior skills through the integration of cooperative learning and digital technology that creates a comprehensive and sustainable learning ecosystem.
