Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of macroeconomic variables—namely inflation, the BI rate, and the exchange rate—on murabahah financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), both in the short and long term. Method: Employing the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), the study analyzes time-series data to assess long-run equilibrium and short-term dynamics. Results: The findings reveal that in the long term, inflation and the BI rate negatively affect murabahah financing, while the exchange rate exerts a positive influence. In contrast, none of the variables show significant short-term effects. The Granger causality test identifies bidirectional relationships between the BI rate and both financing and inflation. Variance Decomposition shows that while financing is initially self-driven, over time inflation emerges as the most influential factor, accounting for 16.74% of variation in murabahah financing. Implication: These results suggest that Bank Syariah Indonesia should develop adaptive financing strategies in response to macroeconomic fluctuations, particularly inflation. Originality: This study contributes to Islamic finance literature by applying a dynamic econometric framework (VECM) to murabahah financing, and by offering empirical evidence from the post-merger period of Indonesia's largest Islamic bank.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to measure how much electric vehicles have an impact on state budget savings on fuel subsidies in Indonesia, This study uses a quantitative method of a simple linear regression model in this study using data on electric vehicles and fuel subsidies from 2020-2022 with data sources from Katadata, from the results of this study there are results that have a positive effect on electric vehicles on state budget savings, with an influence of 93%. Because electric vehicles do not need to be subsidized because the charging cost is very cheap, and the budget from this fuel subsidy can be diverted to fundamental things, such as the progress of Infrastructure, Education and Health. Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of trust, institutional image, and service quality on donor loyalty at LAZIS Muhammadiyah Medan with donor satisfaction as a moderating variable. The population of this research is regular donors from LAZIS Muhammadiyah Medan. The total sampling in this study is regular donors who donated at LAZIS Muhammadiyah Medan City in 2022 as many as 108 respondents. The method used in this study uses a quantitative approach using data from a questionnaire measured by a Likert scale. Testing the data in this study used multiple regression analysis, as well as the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) interaction test. The results of this study indicate that trust, institutional image, and service quality partially have a significant effect on donor loyalty. Interaction test results show that donor satisfaction does not moderate the effect of trust and service quality on donor loyalty. However, it moderates the effect of institutional image on donor loyalty satisfaction.

Abstract

This land conversion phenomenon occurs due to competition in land use between the agricultural sector and the non-agricultural sector which arises as a result of three economic and social phenomena, namely limited resources, population increase, and economic growth. It is inevitable that as people's demand for houses increases, many plantation lands are being converted or reorganized into housing. For this research, a qualitative research method using a phenomenological approach tries to explain or reveal the meaning of concepts or experiential phenomena based on awareness that occurs in several individuals. The impact of land conversion that occurred in the village of Sampali on the social economy for residents who are descendants of PTPN 2 retirees, they lost their homes and as compensation they were given charity, and for the surrounding community, with the conversion of plantation land to housing, progress occurred in the area. This is because land clearing and the development that will be carried out can have an impact on the economy of the surrounding community. If viewed according to Islamic economics, the conversion of functions that occurs is permitted as long as the conversion of land is carried out fairly. The housing development is based on the high demand for housing in the community, so housing construction carried out by the private sector is felt to be very beneficial for the community.

Abstract

Financial institutions have a very important role in a country’s economy which allows millions of funds (surplus units) to be collected and transferred to various other segments of society (deficit units) which can be used as investment capital. The role of credit or financing in investment and increasing income/welfare, and based on the experience of the economic crisis and global financial crisis which were also caused by banking credit. This article aims to review the ability of conventional banking and Sharia banking to provide long-term prosperity in North Sumatra by looking at inflation, exchange rates, money supply, Sharia banking financing, and current account loans, toward North Sumatra’s Gross Regional Domestic Product and the period when it reaches balance. Mixed methods research combines quantitative methods and qualitative methods to be used together in this research. The research population is all data published in the central OJK and BPS (North Sumatra Province Central Statistics Agency), and the sample taken is data that includes all variables during the 2015-2020 period. Analysis of the VAR (Vactor Autoregression) model as an alternative model to multiple equations to minimize the theoretical approach and make economic phenomena better. The result is that there are several negative influence measurement results on the inflation variable and current account loan credit. Meanwhile, the variables of money supply, exchange rate, sharia banking financing have a positive and significant positive influence on North Sumatra’s GRDP. So, the banking VECM test has a role in increasing North Sumatra’s GRDP in both the short and long term
