Abstract

Abstract South Korea still presents a patriarchal social system, mainly due to the strong influence of Confucianism since the Joseon Dynasty. The patriarchal system in society is often represented through media, including Korean dramas that feature gender stereotypes towards female characters. However, the drama The Tale of Lady Ok chosen by the authors presents a different narrative through its main character, Ok Tae Young, a woman from the slave class who challenges traditional gender norms and stereotypes. This character is not only represented as an empowered woman, but also as a figure who is able to reverse her social position in a patriarchal society structure. This research aims to find out how the drama deconstructs gender roles through the main character Ok Tae Young. The researcher used a qualitative approach with the critical discourse analysis method of Teun A. van Dijk model which includes three main dimensions, the dimensions of text, social cognition, and social context. The results of the research through the analysis of these three dimensions show that the drama actively deconstructs gender roles through the main character who has a strategic position in the public space and the realm of power. The narrative carried by the main character shows resistance to traditional gender construction and the ability to penetrate the patriarchal social system through her leadership capacity, empathy, and legal strategies. The dramas not only showcase resistance to gender inequality, but also offer an alternative discourse that women have the potential to be agents of change. Keyword: Critical discourse analysis; deconstruction; gender; korean drama; ok tae young.   Abstrak Korea Selatan hingga kini masih menunjukkan sistem sosial yang patriarkis, terutama karena pengaruh kuat paham Konfusionisme sejak Era Dinasti Joseon. Sistem patriarkis dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat tersebut kerap direpresentasikan melalui media, termasuk drama Korea yang menampilkan stereotip gender terhadap tokoh perempuan. Namun, drama The Tale of Lady Ok yang dipilih oleh peneliti menghadirkan narasi berbeda melalui tokoh utamanya, yakni Ok Tae Young, seorang perempuan dari kelas budak yang menantang norma serta stereotip gender tradisional. Tokoh ini tidak hanya direpresentasikan sebagai perempuan yang berdaya, tetapi juga sebagai figur yang mampu membalikkan posisi sosialnya dalam struktur masyarakat patriarkis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana drama tersebut mendekonstruksi peran gender melalui tokoh utama Ok Tae Young. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. van Dijk yang mencakup tiga dimensi utama, yaitu dimensi teks, kognisi sosial, dan konteks sosial. Hasil penelitian melalui analisis ketiga dimensi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa drama secara aktif mendekonstruksi peran gender melalui tokoh utama yang memiliki posisi strategis dalam ruang publik dan ranah kekuasaan. Narasi yang dibawa tokoh utama memperlihatkan perlawanan terhadap konstruksi gender tradisional serta kemampuan menembus sistem sosial patriarkis melalui kapasitas kepemimpinan, empati, dan strategi hukum yang dimilikinya. Drama ini tidak hanya menampilkan perlawanan terhadap ketimpangan gender, tetapi juga menawarkan wacana alternatif bahwa perempuan memiliki potensi untuk menjadi agen perubahan. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see what influence exposure to Spaylater adverts "Buy Now - Pay Later" on Youtube has on the purchasing habits of students in Surabaya. This is an explanatory study, and the method employed is a quantitative approach. This study employed a purposive sample strategy using the following criteria to determine the population: 1) 19-24 years old; 2) Surabaya University students; 3) Have seen advertising on Youtube for "Shopee Paylater Later - Buy Now, Pay Later"; and 4) Actively utilize Shopee Paylater services and have had difficulty managing costs. In this study, 97 persons were sampled, and primary data was gathered through the distribution of questionnaires. Furthermore, the gathered data were evaluated using the SPSS test tool, which performed data analysis in the form of multiple linear regression analysis. The findings of this study reveal that advertisement exposure characteristics, such as frequency, length, and intensity, have a positive and substantial impact on the purchasing behavior of students in Surabaya. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe era of globalization at this time causes the flow of information and the mobility of people from one area to another to move quickly. This allows human interaction between one nation with other nations is becoming increasingly intense. One of the consequences of globalization is the very strong influence of the values and the culture out of which affect people's lives, especially young people. Among the values and culture that is absorbed by the public, many of which are not in line with the values of Pancasila, so it is feared this might impact on the erosion of the values of nationalism and national identity. This study aims to see how the national identity of students Surabaya today and see the connection between globalization and national identity of students of Surabaya. This study is a qualitative research data collection methods such as focus group discussions, interviews and observation. The participants are students who study and live in the area of Surabaya. After the collected data is categorized by topics that appear to further dianalisasa using thematic analysis technique. Initial results showed that the students Surabaya positive national identity, but seen a shift in the old values are reflected in everyday life. Abstract

Purpose: Stunting is a problem that currently requires special attention in Indonesia. The stunting rate in 2022 will drop to 21.6%, and for the future, the government has set a target of up to 14% in 2024. Rapid technological developments and freedom of expression on the internet produce review text data that can be analyzed for evaluation. This study analyzes the text data of Twitter users' reviews on stunting. The method used is a text-mining approach and topic modeling based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation.Design/methodology/approach: The methodology used in this study is Latent Dirichlet Allocation. The data was collected from twitter with the keyword 'stunting'. After, the data was cleaned and then modeled using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation.Findings/results: The results show that negative sentiment dominates by 60.6%, positive sentiment by 31.5%, and neutral by 7.9%. In addition, this research shows that 'children', 'decrease', 'number', 'prevention', and 'nutrition' are among the words that often appear on stunting.Originality/value/state of the art: This study uses the keyword stunting and analyzes it. Social media analytics show that the people of Indonesia are primarily aware of stunting. Also, the Latent Dirichlet Analysis can be used to create the model.

Abstract

The Travel Bureau business is one of the businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic due to regulations that limit people's activities to gather. In an effort to deal with the pandemic, a marketing communication strategy is needed, one of which is JawaXplore. Analyzed using the SOSTAC theory (Situation, Objectives, Strategy, Tactic, Action, Control), this research aims to find out what kind of marketing communication strategy JawaXplore is doing in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative methodology. The purpose of the strategy created is a stable position and avoid losses, and also foster trust in potential clients. Marketing communication activities through the @jawaxplore Instagram account are carried out by utilizing various existing features, such as uploading photos and videos on feeds, instagram stories, instagram story highlights, reels, IG TV, IG Ads, and insight.

Abstract

This research will discuss how the gamification innovation of the Persy Perfume website in providing a consumer experience for digital personality perfume selection. The trend of using perfume products in Indonesia is increasing, marked by the emergence of many local perfume brands with globally competitive quality. However, product innovation is needed to increase consumer interest in using the product, one of the strategies that can be used is to provide a consumer experience in purchasing products. Persy Perfume is a local brand that uses the aroma of Indonesian spices as a unique selling product and elevates the local culture of wayang as a variant of each scent. Persy through its website provides a consumer experience through "Petualangan Persy Aroma" as a form of innovation in the form of personality test gamification to provide perfume scent recommendations that match the consumer's personality in digital purchases. This research is research with a qualitative descriptive method, to find out how gamification innovations in providing consumer experience to increase consumer interest in shopping for perfume digitally. The result found is that Persy Perfume has found a new innovation in providing a consumer experience through the " Petualangan Persy Aroma", this is an interesting innovation and a new way in the perfume industry to provide a digital consumer experience. By providing a new experience for consumers, this can invite interest from potential consumers to buy the product.

Abstract

Interaksi sosial memiliki hubungan erat dengan komunikasi yang dilakukan dengan individu lain, komunikasi yang dibangun dapat menciptakan suatu pola komunikasi pada hubungan tersebut. Hal ini juga berlaku pada keluarga sebagai tatanan kelompok sosial pertama setiap individu. Tetapi tak jarang adanya fenomena dari kondisi single parents atau ibu tunggal diakibatkan karena perceraian atau meninggalnya suami yang mengharuskan ibu sebagai kepala keluarga untuk memerankan kedua peran sekaligus. Menjadi single parents harus mampu mendidik dan menjaga anak, terlebih lagi dengan anak yang menginjak remaja adanya perubahan fisik dan mental yang terjadi membuat mereka belum stabil. Selain itu munculnya emosional kepada lawan jenis tak luput dari rasa ketertarikan dan penasaran yang dirasakan, terkadang anak mulai menjalin hubungan asmaranya dari menyukai hingga berpacaran. Terdapat berita yang marak terjadi dikalangan masyarakat tentang penyimpangan remaja yang diakibatkan hubungan asmara tentunya membuat orang tua khawatir.  Self-disclosure ini menjadi penting untuk dilakukan antara anak dan ibu dalam memahami satu sama lain. Untuk itu penelitian ini berfokus pada kedalaman dan keterbukaan pada self-disclosure. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dengan wawancara secara mendalam (indepth interview), observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teori penetrasi sosial digunakan untuk mengetahui lapisan keterbukaan mengenai hubungan asmara dan kedekatan yang terjalin dalam keluarga. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan terdapat faktor yang membuat anak nyaman dan membuka diri seperti ketika mereka merasa didengar dan didukung, sementara yang membuat anak tidak nyaman adalah rasa takut akan respon yang diberikan ibu.

Abstract

Era digital mendukung adanya fenomena baru mengenai cara orang tua mengasuh anaknya, di era ini menuntut orang tua untuk terkoneksi dengan orang tua lain, mendapatkan informasi dan berbagi. Hal tersebut menimbulkan fenomena sharenting yang merupakan sebuah kegiatan membagikan informasi parenting yang dilakukan oleh orang tua pada media sosialnya. Selain ahli parenting, Sharenting juga dilakukan oleh beberapa selebriti salah satunya Rachel Vennya, banyak pro-kontra terkait kegiatan sharenting yang dilakukannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah wawancara mendalam (Indepth Interview) dan juga dokumentasi. Sedangkan informan dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis resepsi Stuart Hall, yaitu menggambarkan tiga posisi khalayak dalam mengkontruksikan pesan, yakni posisi dominan-hegemoni, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Melalui penelitian ini ditemukan pemaknaan yang dilakukan orang tua yaitu sharenting dapat menjadikan anak terkenal, sharenting sebagai supporting orang tua (ibu) lain dan sharenting sebagai galeri digital. Adapun temuan lain berupa sebuah penerimaan dari orang tua dalam penelitian ini sebagian besar menerima namun menegosiasikan karena ada sebuah batasan yang timbul dari konten yang diunggah oleh Rachel Vennya atas dasar ketidaksesuaian nilai dan pengalaman yang dimiliki oleh orang tua.

Abstract

Youtube is a widely accessed new media. During its development, Youtube has enabled its viewers to become producers and consumers. This has resulted in many new profit-oriented content creators, by creating content with sensual elements. This has reaping criticism from previous content creators on Youtube, one of them is SkinnyIndonesian24. This study aims to see how SkinnyIndonesian24 packs a criticism of sensuality through the content "Youtube's Got Talent". This study used descriptive qualitative approach and analyzed using CDA by Norman Fairclough. At the text level, criticism of sensuality is found in clauses, combinations of clauses, relations, and the identity of content creator who’s trying to display. In the discourses analysis level, the text examined by observing the content creator and how the efforts to presenting reality in the content. At the sociocultural practice level, texts are examined by looking at external factors that influence the society interpret something. The conclusion is sensuality content is used as a tool to increase popularity for some content creators on Youtube. The reality in the content illustrates the real enthusiasm of netizens in consuming sensuality content. Unwise packaging of sensuality content only leads to increased popularity and decreased quality of content on Youtube. Keywords: Youtube ; Sensuality ; Content Creator ; Critical Discourses Analysis.
