Abstract

Abstract

The development and practice of journalism are mainly determined by the availability of information and communication technology. Internet-based technology has transformed all lines of journalism. Journalism convergence is not only a trend, but also a necessity in the contemporary media industry. There are three types of journalism convergence, namely newsroom, newsgathering, and content.  In newsroom convergence, journalists from different platforms work together in one news production room and carry out their tasks in accordance with their media. Newsgathering convergence requires journalists to multitask, while content convergence or news content means that news is displayed in the form of multimedia content that combines texts, images, audio and others. This study aims to describe and analyze the practice of journalism convergence in Media Group Network and Mahaka Media. Using a qualitative approach, the researchers conduct observation, interview, and literature review as data collection techniques. This study finds that Media Group Network and Mahaka Media have already applied these three journalism convergence models (newsroom, newsgathering, and content). Media Group Network and Mahaka Media have been continuously and consistently applying those three aspects of journalism convergence. However, there are some differences in the journalism convergence process in Media Group Network and Mahaka Media, namely the code of ethics and training for journalists. Another difference is that Mahaka Media provides print on demand for its readers, while Media Group Network has broad coverage on journalism convergence through free to air television, Metro TV

Digital media literacy is “the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and communicate content from media messages. Digital media literacy also means the ability to understand, analyze, and deconstruct media imagery. The ability to do this is aimed at making viewers as consumers of mass media - including children become aware or literate about the way media is constructed / made and accessed. In short, this literacy is often called "media literacy". These community service partners are children of the recitation of the Hidayatul Mubtadiin Talim Council, located in Ciledug District, Peninggilan Utara Village, Tangerang City. The Talim Council has members consisting mostly of children from 7 years to 17 years of age. This partner has several problems including: First, many children of the talim council have received and consumed hoax news from the Whatsapp group and also social media. Second, the children of the talim assembly are less able to maintain their own privacy on social media, where there was once a case of children running away from their homes because they were friends with people they knew through their social media. The solution in this community service is by providing training on digital media literacy which can be achieved through things such as: a. how to filter good information from social media, b. how to process good information from social media, c. How to safeguard and protect personal data in a digital environment.

The Ansor Youth Movement (GP) is a social, national and religious youth organization with a populist character. The Ansor Youth Movement or abbreviated as GP Ansor is an autonomous body under Nahdatul Ulama (NU). This organization was originally called the Ansor Youth Movement as a continuation of Ansoru Nahdlatul Oelama (ANO) which changed its name to the Ansor Nahdlatul Ulama Youth Movement in the NU AD/ART. GP Ansor was founded in Banyuwangi, East Java on 10 Muharram 1353 Hijriyah or 24 April 1934. This organization certainly has problems it faces, one of which is related to how to communicate using persuasive techniques in public. Based on one of the problems faced by GP Ansor Ciledug, we lecturers from the Faculty of Language Communication, Bina Sarana Informatika University, tried to offer a solution to resolve this problem through this community service activity, namely providing public speaking training to members of GP Ansor Ciledug. Abstract

In two national surveys on tolerance, equality, and cooperation among religious communities conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs at 2019 and 2021, the DKI Jakarta harmony index was below the national average. This study aims to capture the activities and communication management patterns of the Religious Harmony Forum of DKI Jakarta, especially in overcoming intolerance and radicalism. Both intolerance and radicalism are often cited as triggers for the emergence of religious disharmony in DKI Jakarta. The results of this study show that, first, the communication management of the DKI Jakarta FKUB is not well-organized as a modern organization that always follows the developments based on communication and information technology. Second, the problem of the forum lies in the weakness of social regulations and government actions in implementing recommendations. Third, the role of this forum must be wider, and more innovative to support the country at a macro level to prevent intolerance and radicalism.Â
