Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of physical education learning modifications based on badminton games on improving students' motor skills at SMA Negeri 2 Makassar. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 60 grade X students who were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group (n = 30) and the control group (n = 30). The research instruments included motor skill tests such as coordination, agility, balance, and muscle strength. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed an increase in the average motor skill score in the experimental group from 65.4 (pretest) to 78.6 (posttest), while the control group increased from 64.9 to 69.3. The independent t-test on the posttest produced a significance value of p <0.01, indicating a significant difference between groups. In addition, the paired t-test showed a significant increase in the experimental group (p <0.001), while the increase in the control group was not statistically significant (p = 0.067). These findings prove that badminton game-based learning modification is more effective than conventional methods in improving students' motor skills. The practical implications of these results indicate the need for the implementation of innovative and enjoyable learning strategies in the school environment.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of physical conditioning coaching strategies in reducing the risk of injury in volleyball players at BKMF Bolavoli FIKK UNM. The method used was a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design. The sample consisted of 30 athletes with an average age of 20 years. The training program included increasing endurance, muscle strength, agility, and explosive power for 8 weeks. The results showed a significant increase in physical condition: 12-minute running endurance increased from 2200 m to 2500 m, push-ups from 25 to 35 repetitions, sit-ups from 30 to 42 repetitions, shuttle run from 15.2 seconds to 13.8 seconds, and vertical jump from 35 cm to 42 cm (p <0.05). The risk of injury decreased by 40%, from 15 to 9 incidents. These findings confirm that structured physical conditioning coaching is effective in improving performance and reducing injuries in volleyball athletes. Periodic injury monitoring and evaluation are recommended for program sustainability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan sirkuit training terhadap peningkatan VO2Max mahasiswa peminatan bola voli jurusan pendidikan kepelatihan olahraga. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Eksperimen yang menggunakan “One Groups Pretest-Posttest Design”, yaitu desain penelitian yang terdapat pretest sebelum diberi perlakuan dan posttest setelah diberi perlakuan. Adapun populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 30 atlet dan sampel sebanyak 30 atlet. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode total sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan pengukuran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil data dan pembahasan dari penelitian ini maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan latihan sirkuit training terhadap peningkatan VO2Max Mahasiswa peminatan bola voli jurusan Pendidikan kepelatihan olahraga.

Abstract

Physical training periodization is a scientific approach aimed at systematically regulating training load, volume, and intensity to achieve peak performance in elite athletes while minimizing the risk of injury. This study reviews 45 scientific articles published within the last ten years, covering periodization models, physiological responses to training, and the integration of technology in athlete development processes. The findings indicate that block periodization and non-linear periodization are the two most effective approaches, shown to enhance aerobic capacity by up to 10% and muscle strength by approximately 8% in high-level athletes. Additionally, the use of monitoring technologies such as Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and Global Positioning System (GPS) contributes significantly to real-time adjustments in training programs, enabling coaches to respond more accurately to athletes’ physiological conditions and prevent overtraining. However, challenges remain in implementing these technologies in sports with limited resources and due to a lack of long-term studies on the effectiveness of technology-based periodization. These findings emphasize the importance of individualized, data-driven approaches in designing training programs that not only improve performance but also sustain athletes’ careers. By integrating classical periodization principles with modern technology, training programs can be developed to be more adaptive, precise, and contextually tailored to individual needs. In conclusion, modern, responsive periodization supported by advanced technology is a crucial element in creating elite athlete development systems that are not only globally competitive but also focused on long-term health and performance.

Abstract

One of the areas directly adjacent to the Makassar Strait is the city of Mamuju, which is a potential area for tuna (Euthynnus affinis) fishing. This study aimed to analyze the spatial and temporal mapping of tuna ZPPI based on remote sensing GIS technology for fisheries in the Makassar Strait waters, West Sulawesi. The research method used in-situ data: fishing position, catch results, and oceanographic dynamics. Ex-situ data used monthly image data of sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a (aqua modis). The data was processed using multiple regression analysis between catch results and several oceanographic parameters. The results were then visualized as a map with a Geographic Information System (GIS) using ArcView 10.2 software to obtain potential tuna fishing areas in the Makassar Strait. The results showed a strong correlation between SST and chlorophyll-a with catch results, which was 83.5%. In addition, temporal time data for fishing was obtained in March, April, May, and June. The coordinates of the fishing area points for March are 118o50'12” and 2O 45'5”; in April, they are at 118O 23'15” and 2O30'4”; in May, they are at 118o 23'0” and 2 o30’4”; and in June they are at 118 o23’0” and 2 o28’0”. The Fishing Potential Zone (ZPPI) for tuna is at 118 o27’ and 2 o29’ 32” to 118 o16’ 48” and 2 o16’ 48”.

Abstract

Paparan bising di lingkungan kerja merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan kerja yang sering diabaikan, terutama pada industri manufaktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat paparan bising di tempat kerja dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan jumlah sampel 120 pekerja dari tiga bagian produksi yang memiliki tingkat kebisingan berbeda. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengukuran intensitas bising menggunakan sound level meter dan pemeriksaan audiometri pada pekerja. Analisis menggunakan uji chi-square dan regresi logistik untuk melihat hubungan dan risiko relatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 52,5% pekerja mengalami gangguan pendengaran ringan hingga sedang, dengan mayoritas bekerja pada area dengan tingkat kebisingan >85 dB. Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara paparan bising dengan gangguan pendengaran (p=0,001). Pekerja yang terpapar bising tinggi memiliki risiko 3,4 kali lebih besar mengalami gangguan pendengaran dibandingkan yang terpapar bising rendah. Studi ini menegaskan perlunya pengendalian kebisingan dan penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD) seperti earplug atau earmuff untuk mencegah kerusakan pendengaran lebih lanjut.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of volleyball game–based tactical learning in improving the fundamental movement skills of students at SMP Negeri 2 Makassar. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design, involving 40 seventh-grade students divided into an experimental group (n=20) and a control group (n=20). The experimental group received tactical game–based learning focused on understanding game situations, decision-making, and applying tactical concepts within the context of play. In contrast, the control group followed conventional technique-based instruction emphasizing repetition of basic movements. Measurement of fundamental movement skills, particularly manipulative skills in volleyball, was conducted using the Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) test during the pretest and posttest stages. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially using paired-sample t-tests to identify changes within each group, as well as independent-sample t-tests to examine differences in improvement between groups at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that both groups experienced significant improvement in fundamental movement skills. However, the improvement in the experimental group was statistically more pronounced than in the control group, accompanied by a large effect size indicating a strong impact of the treatment. These findings confirm that volleyball game–based tactical learning provides a more effective contribution to developing students’ fundamental movement skills compared to conventional instruction. Theoretically and practically, this study recommends the implementation of tactic-based approaches as more relevant, authentic, and competency-oriented learning strategies in physical education.

Abstract

This study presents the results of a systematic literature review highlighting the effectiveness of game-based badminton learning approaches as a relevant instructional strategy in physical education. A review of eight selected articles indicates that the integration of game-oriented activities can enhance students’ fundamental technical skills, tactical understanding, and enthusiasm throughout the learning process. An in-depth analysis of the findings reveals that learning models that position students at the center of activity are able to facilitate more meaningful learning experiences through game situations that closely resemble real on-court conditions. Furthermore, the interaction patterns created through game activities contribute to the development of psychomotor skills and increase students’ readiness to engage confidently in competitive scenarios. Evaluation of various forms of implementation suggests that game-based learning innovations, whether through structured models or application-based media, hold significant potential to improve the quality of badminton instruction. Nevertheless, this review also identifies several challenges, including limited long-term studies, research concentration at specific educational levels, and insufficient exploration of affective and cognitive variables. These findings emphasize the need for further research with broader coverage to gain a deeper understanding of how game-based approaches can be implemented sustainably and deliver optimal benefits for students’ competency development across diverse physical education contexts in Indonesia.
