Abstract

This research is motivated by statistical physics learning in deriving the Fermi-Dirac equation conceptually from lecturers to students or by rote and low creativity of students. This study aims to explore student learning creativity in deriving the Fermi-Dirac equation through the STEAM approach. This study uses a didactic design that includes the stages of prospective analysis, didactic metapedia analysis, and prospective re-analysis, which is applied to the sixth-semester physics tadris student of UIN Sulthan Thahah Saifuddin Jambi. The research instrument used is a description test and a non-test through observation sheets and interviews. The results showed that the implementation of STEAM could increase the creativity of statistical physics with an achievement level of 87% asking questions, 78% learning outcomes, 75% reflection, and 75% analysis on the material of the Fermi-Dirac equation by adhering to student activities starting with phenomena that are easy to digest with the realistic situation during online lectures, which shows that the STEAM approach is quite well used in deriving the Fermi-Dirac equation in the online statistical physics course.

Abstract

Eivironmental literacy is an important aspect of individual abilities in maintaining environmental conditions. This study aimed to determine the understanding of environmental literacy of Biology Tadris students with Islamic religious college backgrounds based on Gender and Parents’ Occupation. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The research population is Biology Education students from Islamic Religious College in Jambi Province. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling, which consisted of 118 people. The study results are; students’ environmental literacy in general is quite good which female students are in good criteria with slightly better than boys. Then in terms of the work of parents, the criteria of good enough which the highest average score was obtained by farmers. Environmental knowledge and student cognitive skills obtained from learning and information obtained from the environment. The ability of environmental literacy based on gender has become a must to be observed as a form of consistency and seriousness in understanding the differences and the need to increase the understanding of environmental literacy that students own.

Abstract

The research aims to see students' conceptual understanding of Newton's second law material through the Rasch model. This research was conducted on physics education students at the Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi State Islamic University, totalling 29 active students in August 2023. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive research method regarding the procedures for organizing and carrying out observations, where the researcher did not carry out special treatment. to make changes to students, but looking at the real conditions that students have in modern conditions. The instrument consists of 45 items related to force and motion. Selection of questions to obtain appropriate questions using the Winsteps 3.65.0 program. The results of the analysis using the Rasch Model showed 23 fit items. The results of the analysis show that concept ability is very low, students' concept mastery is low where in percentage terms 97% have low concept mastery, and only 3% have moderate concept mastery ability, especially in Law II material.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the critical preparations necessary for fresh graduates to effectively engage in a professional teacher program, focusing on identifying specific challenges and enablers within this process. Employing a case study design, this research leverages qualitative interviews to capture in-depth perspectives from participants, enabling a nuanced exploration of the complexities involved in preparing for professional teacher programs. The research involved interviewing six professional teachers, including three who have participated in the in-service Professional Teacher Program (PPG) and three who have undergone the pre-service PPG. These teachers represent five different districts, which enhances the validity and generalizability of the findings. The selected participants are educators who have completed their professional teaching certification within the past three years, ensuring that the insights gained are current and relevant. The research identified six major themes: infrastructure challenges, health considerations, family support, technology mastery, financial constraints, and teacher qualifications. These themes emerged from the interviews and reflect the diverse experiences and obstacles faced by teachers in preparing for and undergoing professional development. This study provides actionable insights and can also inform the refinement of strategies for both preparation and development of targeted support systems for prospective teachers, which ultimately enhance the effectiveness of professional teacher programs for the present and the future. This study provides information that education with a well-planned and effective system can encourage better student quality and ability.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Hybrid Learning Model on concept mastery and self-regulation. The research method uses a 2x3 factorial design. After that, data collection used multiple-choice tests for concept mastery and questionnaires for self-regulation. Data analysis using two-way ANOVA with SPSS software. The study results indicate that there is an effect of mastery of concepts using Hybrid Learning and without Hybrid Learning, where the Hybrid Learning model is better than non-Hybrid learning. With students' concept mastery in Newton's Law II material, self-regulation ability is in line and mutually reinforcing. The high concept mastery ability is better than students in the medium and low self-regulation categories. The concept mastery ability in the medium concept mastery category is better than low self-regulation students in the medium concept mastery category. The results also show an influence between the Hybrid learning model and students' self-regulation abilities in the high, medium, and low categories on the ability to understand concepts.

Abstract

This research aims to see the ability of the FMCE-PHQ-9 test instrument amid the Covid-19 pandemic to measure conceptual understanding, cheating, and depression in students. The research was conducted on 64 physics education students at Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin State Islamic University Jambi. The instrument consists of 47 force and motion material items to fit the Winsteps 3.65.0 program. The analysis results using the Rasch Model showed that the MNSQ Outfit was 1.00 in the person column and 0.1 in the item column. Judging from the ZSTD value of 0.57 for the person and 0.1 for the item, the Points Measure value correlated with 0.4 to 0.85 while the item reliability value was 0.73 and the Cronbach's Alpha value was 0.56. therefore, the test instrument using the Rasch proclamation model found 31 fit items. The analysis results show that the concept ability was poor since, on average, the students could only answer questions with a low index of difficulty category. The research results on the level of cheating obtained data that 100 percent of students were not indicated to have the same pattern. Lastly, for the level of depression, only 16 percent of students did not experience depression, while 84 percent of students experienced it.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the resources activated by students in solving Newton’s laws in terms of gender. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with two open test instruments. This research was conducted on 10th-grade students at SMK N 1 Muaro Jambi with 11 female students and 11 male students. The facts obtained in this study indicate that students’ thinking about Newton’s law is still lacking during the learning process. Based on the analysis results of the level of understanding of student concepts, female students understand better than male students. Overall, students fail to summon relevant knowledge when facing problems in the form of phenomena. In addition, they failed to use the knowledge they gained to answer questions. Students’ abilities are activated when they understand a phenomenon influenced by students’ original ideas from their personal experiences.

Abstract

This study uses a STEAM approach to learning outcomes of biological innovation, using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only design with a nonequivalent group design. The population in this study are fourth-semester students of Biology Tadris UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, class IVA, IVB, IVC, and VI D, totaling 36 people. Samples were taken using class IVA and IV D with the purposive sampling technique. The instrument in this study was in the form of five essay test questions. Data analysis used t-test and correlation test (phi (Φ)). Analysis of t-test data from the calculation results shows that the use of the STEAM approach is proven to be better than online lectures without using the STEAM approach. The results of the study were continued with a correlation test (phi test (Φ)), from the results of the calculations, it was concluded that the STEAM approach had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of students’ cognitive domains in the biology learning innovation course.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan STEAM terhadap hasil belajar inovasi biologi, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest only dengan nonequivalent group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester IV Biologi Tadris UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi kelas IVA, IVB, IVC, dan VI D yang berjumlah 36 orang. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIA dan IV D diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa 5 soal tes essay. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t dan uji korelasi (phi (Φ)). Analisis data uji t Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan STEAM terbukti lebih baik daripada perkuliahahan online tanpa menggunakan pendekatan STEAM. Hasil penelitian dilanjutkan dengan uji korelasi (uji phi (Φ)), dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pendekatan STEAM berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar ranah kognitif mahasiswa pada mata kuliah inovasi pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of the Cooperative Learning learning model on understanding concepts in business and energy material. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of class The sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling technique because the data previously obtained from the three classes was normal and homogeneous. The design in this research is post-test only because the samples used have initial abilities that can be said to be the same. Based on data analysis, the average score for the experimental class was 52.3 and the average score for the control class was 47.6. Apart from obtaining the average value, in this study it was also found from the results of the t test that Cooperative Learning learning did not have a significant influence on classes that did not use the Cooperative Learning learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on students' understanding of concepts. This research is quasi-experimental research or quasi-experimental research. This research only uses posttests or final tests after being given treatment. The design used was Posttest Only Control Group Design. The research results showed that the average score of experimental class students who used the discovery learning model was 55.44, a maximum of 100, a minimum of 0, and a standard deviation value of 30.072. For the control class using the conventional model, the average score of experimental class students is 40.09, the maximum is 79, the minimum is 0, and the standard deviation value is 25.693. This also shows a positive impact if learning is implemented using the Discovery Learning learning model.
