Abstract

Artificial intelligence has rapidly become a routine part of students’ academic workflows, reshaping how they learn, create, and complete tasks. This study examines the extent to which AI literacy and AI readiness influence AI adoption among university students, and whether an AI-supportive learning climate strengthens these relationships. Using data from 187 students in Jakarta, the research employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate both direct and moderating effects. The findings show that AI readiness is the strongest predictor of AI adoption, highlighting the importance of psychological preparedness, confidence, and openness toward AI tools. AI literacy also demonstrates a significant positive effect, suggesting that conceptual understanding, functional skills, and critical evaluation abilities are essential to meaningful AI integration. Furthermore, an AI-supportive learning climate positively moderates both relationships, indicating that institutional and instructional encouragement amplify the translation of literacy and readiness into actual adoption behavior. To enrich interpretation, the study also presents descriptive evidence of students’ primary purposes for using AI, which are largely tied to core academic activities such as completing assignments and understanding difficult concepts. Despite its contributions, the study is limited by its cross-sectional design, reliance on self-reported data, and focus on an urban sample. These limitations restrict causal inference and may not fully capture the diverse conditions across Indonesian higher education. Future research should incorporate longitudinal designs, broader regional samples, and mixed-method approaches to capture evolving patterns of AI engagement. Overall, the study contributes to a deeper understanding of how individual capabilities and supportive environments jointly shape AI adoption in higher education

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia faces a gap in digital content production literacy among the younger generation, yet most lack the basic skills to produce high-quality, impactful digital content. This gap has the potential to limit the role of the younger generation in the digital economy ecosystem, leaving them more dominant as consumers than creative actors. This community service program (PKM) aimed to bridge this gap through interactive content writing training for Budi Agung High School students. The implementation employed a participatory approach combining material presentation, Q&A sessions, and digital-based educational games using the Blooket platform. Conducted on December 9, 2025, the activity involved 19 students. Evaluation through feedback questionnaires with four assessment components Educational, Objective, Accountable, and Transparent showed average ratings above 3.5 on a 4-point scale, with the highest score of 3.63 on Educational, Objective, and Accountable aspects. These findings indicate that the training was well received by participants and perceived as beneficial in enhancing their understanding of content writing, as well as increasing their awareness of opportunities in the digital creative economy. This activity is expected to be one of the efforts of the Bunda Mulia University Digital Business Study Program in supporting the development of content writing at the secondary education level.

Abstract

. In Indonesia’s collectivistic yet mobile first marketplace, virtual influencers have evolved from eye catching avatars into algorithmic peers whose persuasive power rests on a blend of social conformity and personal enjoyment. Leveraging the Artificial Intelligence Device Use Acceptance (AIDUA) model, this study isolates primary (cognitive) and secondary (affective) appraisals to explain why users embrace—or recoil from—synthetic personae. A cross sectional online survey of 286 Indonesian social media users (aged 18 35) tested a structural model linking social influence and hedonic motivation to performance expectancy, anthropomorphism to effort expectancy, and both cognitions to discrete positive and negative emotions. Variance based SEM (SmartPLS 4) produced robust psychometrics and significant pathways: social influence (β = .34) and hedonic motivation (β = .46) jointly explained 45 % of performance expectancy, while anthropomorphism sharply reduced perceived effort (β = .61; R² = .38). Performance expectancy amplified positive emotion (β = .48) and effort expectancy mitigated negative emotion (β = −.41), with the model accounting for 42 % of positive and 29 % of negative affect. These results uncover “utilitarian collectivism”—a dual cognitive–affective engine wherein peer validation and hedonic thrill sustain utilitarian value—and position anthropomorphism as a usability heuristic rather than a mere novelty cue.

Abstract

TikTok increasingly serves as an experiential search environment for Indonesian Gen-Z, shaping how food and beverage (F&B) venues are discovered, evaluated, and chosen. This study investigates how perceived affordances and perceived search value influence perceived credibility in TikTok-based F&B search, how credibility and search satisfaction subsequently shape visit intention, and under what conditions perceived misinformation risk weakens this process. A cross-sectional survey of Gen-Z TikTok users in Greater Jakarta (N = 234) was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results indicate that both perceived affordances and perceived search value enhance perceived credibility, with search value emerging as the relatively stronger route. Credibility increases search satisfaction, and together credibility and satisfaction are associated with higher intention to visit F&B venues found via TikTok. The findings also show that when users perceive higher misinformation risk on the platform, the positive relationship between credibility and visit intention becomes weaker, indicating that trust in content does not automatically translate into action under conditions of platform-level skepticism. The study contributes an integrated mechanism that links platform design and experiential value to credibility, satisfaction, and behavioral intention, while identifying perceived misinformation risk as a boundary condition for conversion. For managers, the findings highlight the importance of designing high-fit, low-friction discovery experiences and strengthening transparent integrity signals so that short-video search more reliably leads to offline visits.

Abstract

TikTok increasingly functions as an experiential search environment for Indonesian Gen-Z, shaping how food and beverage information is evaluated and acted upon. This study examines how perceived affordances and perceived search value shape perceived credibility, and how credibility and search satisfaction, in turn, drive visit intention. It also tests whether perceived misinformation risk weakens the credibility–intention pathway. A cross-sectional survey of Gen-Z TikTok users in Greater Jakarta (N = 234) was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Results show that search value (β = 0.35, p < .001) and affordances (β = 0.28, p < .001) increase credibility; credibility raises search satisfaction (β = 0.41, p < .001), and both credibility (β = 0.32, p < .001) and satisfaction (β = 0.37, p < .001) heighten visit intention. The model explains a substantial share of variance in visit intention (R² = 0.56) and exhibits predictive relevance. Moderation tests indicate that misinformation risk reduces the behavioral impact of credibility (β = −0.17, p = .008). The study contributes a coherent mechanism linking platform design and experiential value to credibility, satisfaction, and behavior, and identifies platform-level skepticism as a boundary condition for conversion. For managers, the findings imply that designing high-fit, low-friction discovery episodes and embedding transparent verification cues are essential to translate short video search into offline visits.

Abstract

In mobile-first collectivistic markets such as Indonesia, research has not yet clarified how consumers respond to virtual influencers (VIs), AI-driven characters that sell, entertain, and chat in parasocial spaces. Filling this gap is important because Indonesia is projected to become Asia’s fastest-growing e-commerce arena, valued at roughly ninety-five billion US dollars. We adapted the Artificial Intelligence Device Use Acceptance (AIDUA) model and surveyed 235 Instagram users aged 18 to 35 years who follow at least one VI. After pretesting, the final PLS-SEM model satisfied all reliability (CR ≥ 0.89) and convergent validity (AVE ≥ 0.73) thresholds and explained 37 percent of the variance in willingness to accept VIs. Positive emotion emerged as the strongest driver (β = 0.51, p < 0.001). Performance expectancy showed both a direct effect (β = 0.12, p < 0.05) and an indirect effect through emotion, whereas effort expectancy influenced acceptance solely through emotion. Perceived risk and social influence were not significant, confirming that feeling rather than function guides VI persuasion among young Indonesians. Brands should therefore pair clear decision support cues with local humor, everyday Bahasa, and low-friction interfaces to spark joy and reduce novelty skepticism, a strategy likely to accelerate VI adoption in other collectivistic mobile-centric economies.
