Abstract

This study aims to analyze previously published studies so as to obtain a summary of the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in learning biology. This research is an experimental research with a meta-analysis technique. This meta-analysis technique is carried out in several steps, namely (1) determining the research topic, (2) determining the period of the article to be used, (3) searching for scientific articles that will support the research, (4) reading, determining, and analyzing the article to be used, (5) analyze, process, and conclude the data obtained. The research method used in this research is a survey of scientific research articles and other scientific publications. The effect of studies that have applied the problem-based learning model is analyzed using meta-analysis techniques. The findings of this study reveal that the problem-based learning model has an effect on students' critical thinking skills in learning biology. This can be seen from the results of a meta-analysis study with an average effect size of 0.52 on the moderate criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on student learning outcomes. This research method is a meta-analysis by examining data sources originating from national or international journals published in the last seven years (2014-2021). This research begins with formulating the topic to be studied, then formulating the problem and research objectives, at the next stage collecting relevant articles to collect data. The data was obtained from online journal searches through Google Scholar. The keywords used are "Teams Games Tournament learning model" and "learning outcomes". From the search results there are 20 articles. Data were obtained and reanalyzed using quantitative methods. Based on the results of the analysis of the Teams Games Tournament learning model, it is proven to be able to improve student learning outcomes with significant results after being given treatment, which is 69.93% compared to the results before being given treatment, which is 55.75% so that it increases by 14.18%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the problems of education and learning in SMA Negeri 12 Kerinci and SMA Negeri 7 Kerinci. The research used is qualitative research with library research methods. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique is done by collecting articles, analyzing, and drawing a conclusion. The results of the study concluded that SMA Negeri 12 Kerinci experienced educational and learning problems, namely the lack of science laboratory facilities and infrastructure, the lack of computers for the Computer-Based National Examination (UNBK), and the lack of student activity in the teaching and learning process. SMA Negeri 7 Kerinci is experiencing educational and learning problems, namely the lack of management of school facilities and infrastructure and the lack of learning media in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The research aims to find out the problem of Learning based on Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for high school / MA students in biological materials in the COVID-19 era. This research is qualitative research with a fenomenology approach. Data collection techniques in research are observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The technique of ensuring the validity of data is triangulation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study can be concluded that SMA Negeri 12 Kerinci students have difficulty in understanding the concepts and learning materials and teachers has difficulty in practicing and evaluating learning outcomes, SMA Negeri 4 Kerinci students lack motivation and participation in learning and teachers have difficulty in making teaching materials, and MAS Koto Rendah students often experience internet network disruptions, students are less active in learning, and students have low motivation to learn virtually and teachers have difficulty in making teaching materials and explaining materials.

Abstract

Misconception is a concept that is different from the concept that has been agreed upon by experts. Misconceptions can cause students to understand concepts incorrectly. This study aims to identify misconceptions in high school biology textbooks and their relationship to misconceptions in students. This research is a meta-analysis with a literature review method on data sources in the form of articles in electronic journals. This study examines the results of the analysis of high school biology textbook misconceptions and student misconceptions from 15 relevant articles. Based on the results of this study, it is known that 12 high school biology textbooks have misconceptions with low, medium, and high misconception categories. The misconceptions contained in the textbooks are on average classified in the low to medium category, but there are also textbook misconceptions that are included in the high category. The results of the analysis of students' misconceptions revealed that students experienced misconceptions in the medium to high category of the 14 high school biology materials tested. Three common causes of misconceptions in students are misconceptions in textbooks, misconceptions in teachers, and misconceptions in students' initial concepts. Thus, it can be concluded that misconceptions in textbooks are one of the main causes of students' misconceptions, which results in students understanding the material incorrectly. This is evidenced by the fact that students experience misconceptions, especially on material that has misconceptions in textbooks.

Abstract

Miskonsepsi adalah kesalahan pada konsep materi yang tidak relevan dengan konsep ilmiah.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengetahui berapa persentase miskonsepsi yang terdapat pada buku teks Biologi SMA yng digunakan sebagai pedoman pembelajaran disekolah. Identifikasi miskonsepsi dikategorikan menjadi 5 yaitu undergeneralization, obsolete concept and terms, oversimplification, overgeneralization, misidentification. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah meta analisis dengan melakukan review  terhadap artikel sumber. Kategori tingkat persentase miskonsepsi dibedakan menjadi 3 yaitu tingkat miskonsepsi rendah (0,00-0,30%), tingkat miskonsepsi sedang (0,31-0,60%), dan tingkat miskonsepsi tinggi (0,61-100%). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah semua buku Biologi SMA yang diteliti oleh peneliti artikel sumber memiliki persentase miskonsepsi yang berbeda-beda.

Abstract

STEM is an integrated learning approach in sciene, technology, and mathematics. In 1990 NSF (National Science Foudation) introduced the STEM approach with the aim of forming a generation that is able to fulfill 21st century abilities such as scientific thinking, reasoning, logical, systematic, and able to improve communicative, collaborative and problem solving, abilities. Students scientific thinking skills need to be developed to form students who think scientically, reason, logicaaly, systematically, and are able to solve problems by collecting information using scientific methods such as exam ination and reasoning, logically, in taking action. Students have various levels of thin king. The purpose of this study is to examine the results of liteture review research method using several data sources such as books and articles from electronic journals. The results of the research show that the application of the STEM approachin learning affects the improvement of students scientific thinking skills.

Abstract

STEM is a learning approach that integrates 4 disciplines in learning, namely science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This approach aims to form the next generation that meets the abilities of the 21st century, one of which is the ability to think creatively. It is important for students to develop creative thinking skills to make students think rationally in solving a problem. The average level of creative thinking of students has various percentages. The purpose of this study was to examine the results of implementing the STEM approach in biology learning from 10 relevant articles and their relationship to students' creative thinking abilities. The type of research used is a meta-analysis with a literature review research method using several data sources such as articles in electronic journals and books. The results showed that the application of the STEM approach in learning had an effect on increasing students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis dan mengidentifikasi kebutuhan peserta didik terhadap bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran yaitu lembar kerja peserta didik pada materi sistem pencernaan. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah satu orang guru biologi kelas XI dan 36 orang peserta didik dari kelas XI IPA di SMA Negeri 1 VII Koto Sungai Sarik. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Bahan ajar yang sering digunakan dalam pembelajaran Biologi adalah lembar kerja peserta didik, (2) Bahan ajar yang digunakan peserta didik dianggap belum meranik bagi peserta didik, (3) Materi sistem pencernaan merupakan materi yang memiliki nilai ulangan harian yang di bawah KKM, (4) Peserta didik dan guru belum menggunakan LKPD dengan pendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). (5) LKPD berbasis STEM dapat meningkatkan keterampilan 4C (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication,and Collaboration). LKPD berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) pada materi sistem pencernaan kelas XI SMA dibutuhkan untuk memaksimalkan proses pembelajaran serta mengasah keterampilan 4C peserta didik.
