Abstract

Local culture shapes the ecological ethics of society, but globalization and commodification often erode its symbolic and ecological meaning. The Belis tradition in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, which is rich in spiritual and ecological values, is now undergoing changes due to modernization. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of eco-pedagogy in preserving the symbolic relationship between humans and nature through the Belis tradition, identify ecological values, the impact of commodification, and formulate education strategies based on local wisdom. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Thematic analysis was conducted to examine human-nature relations, ecological values, and cultural commodification, with triangulation of sources and member checking for data validity. The results of this study show that the Belis tradition is not only a social and cultural practice, but also functions as a medium for ecological education that instills awareness of the sacred relationship between humans, livestock, and nature. However, the commodification of Belis culture, which has turned livestock into mere economic symbols, has threatened the ecological and spiritual values of this tradition. This research contributes to the development of a local wisdom-based education model for maintaining the relationship between humans and nature. Further research should explore the role of the younger generation in preserving the ecological values of the Belis tradition and formulate an applicable eco-pedagogical model in the context of Manggarai education

Abstract

This study examines how integrating digital culture values in campus habituation strengthens students’ digital communication ethics as social capital. Using a qualitative descriptive method in Mataram City, data were collected from students, lecturers, staff, and campus leaders through interviews and observations. Findings reveal that students recognize the importance of digital values such as netiquette, digital literacy, and digital citizenship. However, the implementation of these values remains inconsistent and unstructured. Ethical awareness in digital communication varies among students, especially regarding personal social media use. Despite these challenges, digital platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram support the development of bonding and bridging social capital through trust-building and collaboration. The study suggests the need for structured campus policies, regular digital ethics training, curriculum integration, and digital communities to foster ethical digital behavior in academic settings.

Abstract

Seorang guru yang profesional memerlukan kombinasi keterampilan dan keahlian tertentu di bidang pendidikan yang disebut kompetensi profesional guru. Hasil yang dicapai pada akhir proses pembelajaran disebut prestasi belajar.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara prestasi belajar siswa dengan kompetensi profesional guru pada mata pelajaran IPAS Kelas V SDK St. Yoseph 4 Naikoten-Kupang. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji test. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 81,83 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 77,67. Penelitian mengungkapkan adanya hubungan antara kuatnya prestasi belajar siswa kelas V SDK St. Yoseph 4 Naikoten-Kupang dengan kompetensi profesional gurunya.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran eksperiensial adalah gaya mengajar yang memungkinkan siswa memperoleh keterampilan dan pengetahuan melalui pengalaman langsung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana paradigma experiential learning mendorong peningkatan partisipasi siswa dalam kelas IPS di SD Inpres Oesapa Kota Kupang khususnya kelas V. Satu kelas yang terdiri dari lima siswa dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok A (kelompok eksperimen) dan kelompok B (kelompok kontrol), dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen semu. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei dan dokumen. Uji normalitas dan homogenitas digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini. Temuan penelitian dan pembahasan mengenai “pengaruh model experiential learning terhadap keaktifan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas V SD Inpres Oesapa Kupang” menunjukkan bahwa model ini berdampak terhadap keaktifan siswa. Siswa kelas V SD Inpres Oesapa Kupang sedang mempelajari mata kuliah sains. Temuan pengujian hipotesis dengan uji-t sampel independen dan tingkat signifikansi 5% (0,05) menunjukkan hal ini. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan tingkat signifikan (2-tailed) sebesar 0,019 < 0,05, menolak Ho dan menerima Ha. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol mempunyai aktivitas belajar siswa yang berbeda; Namun model experiential learning mempunyai pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap aktivitas pembelajaran IPA dan aktivitas belajar siswa di kelas V SD Inpres Oesapa Kupang.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the challenges in building a digital literacy ecosystem in the Indonesia-East Timor border area, particularly in East Amfoang Sub-district. Using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that the majority of teachers face difficulties in accessing the internet and digital technology for learning activities, with 121 teachers reporting consistent difficulties. The challenges faced by the community are limited digital infrastructure, low economic capability and lack of digital literacy training, which hinder the utilization of technology in daily life and education. The findings highlight the importance of developing satellite-based or 5G internet infrastructure that can reach remote areas, as well as digital literacy training that focuses on practical skills for teachers and students. In addition, public education programs related to information safety and news source verification are also needed to increase public awareness of digital risks. Based on the research results, it is recommended to implement more equitable digital infrastructure development policies, community-based digital skills training, and collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the private sector to create technology solutions that suit local needs. With these strategies, it is expected to reduce the digital divide and improve the quality of life and economic welfare of people in border areas.

Abstract

This research explores the integration of local culture “Halaika” into the formal education system of the Boti Dalam community amidst the challenges of education digitalization. The Boti Dalam community faces a dilemma between the importance of formal education to prepare the younger generation for the times and concerns about the negative impacts of technology. One of the main challenges faced is how to integrate Halaika cultural values that emphasize harmony with nature and avoidance of excessive use of technology into the formal education curriculum without compromising the quality of education. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs) and participatory observation involving traditional leaders, parents, students and teachers. The results show that the Halaika teachings serve as a safeguard against the negative influence of the digitalization of education but also reveal challenges in integrating these traditional values into formal education. Although there is a growing awareness among the Boti Dalam community about the importance of local wisdom-based education, the main challenges faced are the lack of training for teachers as well as the limited resources available. Therefore, collaboration between educational institutions and the government, as well as the development of specialized training for teachers, is needed to create programs that support the integration of Halaika values.

Abstract

The commodification of Belis culture in Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, is increasing, threatening the preservation of traditional values related to social honor and family relations. These values are now starting to shift into commodities that are traded for economic interests. Preservation efforts through education and cultural revitalization have not been effective in facing this challenge. Therefore, this study aims to examine the strengthening of digital literacy as a strategy to prevent the commodification of Belis culture. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, which allows in-depth exploration of the phenomenon of cultural commodification. The results show that strengthening digital literacy is an important solution to protect Belis culture, by giving the community the ability to access and disseminate cultural information through digital platforms. Some of the strategies found in this research include: first, increasing the capacity of the community in utilizing digital technology to preserve Belis culture; second, creating educational content about Belis culture through articles, videos, and podcasts; and third, forming digital communities to support cultural preservation collaboratively.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) has had a major impact on the world of education, one of which is the weakening of social interaction and the decline in students' collaboration skills due to the increasing tendency of digital individualism. This study aims to explore and analyze the integration of East Manggarai Leles cultural values through mindful learning approach as a strategy to develop collaboration skills of elementary school students. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature study. The data were analyzed thematically to find patterns of meaning in learning practices that combine local cultural values with a mindful approach. The results show that the integration of cultural values such as emi lime (selfless help), responsibility, and trust in the learning process can create an inclusive and collaborative classroom atmosphere. Learning becomes more meaningful because students not only learn cognitively, but also socially and emotionally. The mindful learning approach allows students to be fully present in the learning process and build empathy towards others, which in turn improves their collaborative skills. This research confirms that the combination of local wisdom values and awareness-oriented learning approaches can be an innovative solution in shaping student character in accordance with the needs of 21st century education.

Abstract

Permainan tradisional merupakan warisan budaya yang mengandung nilai sosial, edukatif, dan moral penting, serta berpotensi sebagai ruang belajar sosial dalam pembentukan karakter siswa. Namun, di tengah dominasi teknologi dan permainan digital, minat siswa sekolah dasar terhadap permainan tradisional menurun, sehingga berpengaruh pada berkurangnya kesempatan belajar nilai-nilai sosial secara alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana permainan tradisional yang diintegrasikan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dapat berfungsi sebagai ruang belajar sosial dan media pembentukan karakter bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologis, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis secara tematik menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan tradisional seperti gobak sodor, engklek, dan egrang tidak hanya menghadirkan kesenangan, tetapi juga menumbuhkan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kerja sama, tanggung jawab, disiplin, dan empati secara alami. Kegiatan ini berperan sebagai ruang interaksi sosial yang memperkuat komunikasi, toleransi, dan ketahanan mental siswa. Meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti pengaruh gadget dan keterbatasan fasilitator, permainan tradisional tetap berpotensi menjadi media efektif dalam pendidikan karakter yang kontekstual dan berakar pada budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya mengintegrasikan permainan tradisional dalam ekstrakurikuler sebagai ruang belajar sosial yang menyenangkan dan bermakna untuk pembentukan karakter anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan teknologi digital dalam memperkenalkan dan melestarikan budaya Belis Manggarai melalui pendekatan kognitivisme dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di tingkat sekolah dasar. Dengan perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat, pendidikan dihadapkan pada tantangan dalam mengintegrasikan budaya lokal, khususnya budaya Belis, ke dalam kurikulum sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan guru, siswa, dan tokoh masyarakat sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media digital seperti video interaktif dan aplikasi pembelajaran meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam memahami budaya Belis. Teknologi digital memungkinkan siswa untuk belajar secara lebih interaktif dan multisensori, memfasilitasi pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang nilai-nilai budaya Belis. Temuan utama penelitian ini adalah bahwa pembelajaran berbasis teknologi digital tidak hanya membuat pembelajaran lebih menarik dan relevan, tetapi juga memperkuat keterlibatan emosional siswa terhadap budaya lokal mereka. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan metode pengajaran yang inovatif untuk melestarikan budaya lokal di era digital.
