Abstract

The purpose of this study is to formulate a conceptual model of religious moderation-based conversion education transformation that can be used as a reference for non-formal Islamic educational institutions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research data consists of the process of religious moderation-based conversion education transformation, with the case study location at the Cheng Ho Mosque in Palembang. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with mosque administrators, convert mentors, and students, as well as documentation of programs and learning materials. The analysis technique used was thematic analysis with data reduction, categorization, and conceptualization of field findings. The results showed that the model of convert education transformation took the form of a spiral transformation that adapted Bruner's spiral learning principle. This model is considered relevant to the characteristics of the convert guidance process, which is gradual, repetitive, and in-depth. This spiral of transformation includes four main stages: (1) an orientation stage that introduces the basics of Islam and the values of religious moderation; (2) a foundation stage that emphasizes strengthening faith, worship practices, and understanding the value of diversity; (3) the social integration stage, which focuses on social adaptation, collaboration, and strengthening community networks; and (4) the economic independence stage, which guides converts toward developing productive economic skills and self-empowerment. These four stages form a continuous spiral pattern, so that the learning and guidance process can be progressive and adaptive according to individual needs. In conclusion, this spiral transformation model not only strengthens the dimension of faith but also encourages social integration and economic empowerment of converts. In addition, this model contributes to the development of non-formal Islamic education studies that are more responsive to the diversity of society.

Research Objectives: To provide information to the reading public about the management strategy of developing access to Islamic religious education at the Half-Time Andalus Madrasah in Singapore.Method: This research uses descriptive qualitative method to examine the phenomenon in depth through field data analysis and documentation. Results: The research shows that quality-oriented management that is responsive to the needs of the community can be used as a model in encouraging innovation in Islamic education institutions, both formal and non-formal. This approach has proven effective in designing programmes that are relevant to the needs of learners. Conclusion: Although this study has limitations such as the lack of interviewees, data that only focuses on educational programmes, and the lack of information outside the official Andalus website, the findings still make an important contribution. The Andalus management model can be adapted by Islamic education institutions in similar contexts, especially in improving access, relevance and quality of religious education programmes by tailoring curricula and education services to the needs of learners and the surrounding community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the principle of comparability in Islamic Religious Education and its implications for improving students' understanding and shaping their Islamic character at MAN 1 Pangkalpinang City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted in a leading madrasah with heterogeneous student characteristics. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, involving 12 informants consisting of teachers, the principal, the vice principal for curriculum, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana through reduction, presentation, and simultaneous data conclusion drawing. The results showed that the principle of comparability was applied through differentiated learning strategies, proportional fairness-based assessment, and Islamic values-based curriculum collaboration. The application of this principle was proven to improve religious understanding and shape students' character to be fair, moderate, and have good morals, although there were still obstacles in the form of teachers' narrow perceptions of the meaning of substantive equality. This study emphasizes the importance of the principle of comparability as a principle of justice in contextual and humanistic Islamic education.

Abstract

Comparative education studies examine the similarities, differences, and factors influencing the education systems of various countries. This study is crucial for understanding the dynamics of global education and supporting national policy development. The primary focus is on identifying similarities and differences in education systems and understanding the historical and contextual factors that shape these policies. This research analyzes relevant national and international literature and journals, including the history of education in Indonesia. The results demonstrate that comparative education is not only analytical but also helps adapt best practices to Indonesia's social, cultural, and political context. Aspects examined include educational philosophy, curriculum, learning methods, policies, educational structures, and external factors such as economics and culture. From pre-colonial times to the reform era, education plays a role in strengthening cultural values, developing human resources, and shaping national identity. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating lessons from other countries while maintaining Indonesia's distinctive characteristics for effective and sustainable policy.

Abstract

This paper discusses a comparative study of educational systems between developing and developed countries, focusing on differences in system design, quality, and management strategies. Education serves as a key indicator of national progress because it plays a crucial role in developing qualified human resources. Developing countries often face challenges such as limited educational facilities, low teacher quality, and unequal access to education. In contrast, developed countries possess well-planned, technology-based education systems that balance theory and practice. Singapore is presented as an example of a developed country that has successfully built an effective education system through curriculum alignment with labor market needs, an emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and teacher development through institutions like the National Institute of Education (NIE). The study reveals that education quality depends on management effectiveness, teacher professionalism, and strong government policy support. Thus, education plays a vital role as a determinant of a nation's advancement and societal welfare.
