Abstract

Banyak upaya guru untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa belum optimal. Selain itu terdapat permasalahan di Sekolah Dasar tentang sikap dan tingkah laku siswa yang sulit dikondisikan pada saat pembelajaran di kelas maupun di luar kelas.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan Model Pembelajaran Quantum Bervisi Komunikasi Positif dibandingkan model konvensional terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar IPA di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan metode Deskriptif Kuantitatif.  Desain yang digunakan adalah mengukur variabel-variabel yang ada dalam penelitian (variabel X dengan variabel Y1 dan Y2) untuk kemudian dicari hubungan antar variabel tersebut kemudian dideskripsikan apa-apa yang terjadi sebagaimana mestinya pada saat penelitian dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Quantum Bervisi Komunikasi Positif dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar IPA di Sekolah Dasar. Dalam pelaksanaan pengembangan komunikasi positif, guru harus banyak memberikan petunjuk-petunjuk terhadap kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami siswa, banyak memberi tahu bahwa mereka memiliki kemampuan untuk mengerjakan dan selalu mengoreksi pekerjaan siswa secara konstruktif.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh problem based learning (PBL) melalui demonstrasi dan diskusi terhadap kemampuan verbal dengan keaktifan sebagai variabel moderator. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest-postest. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas V SD se-Kecamatan Banyubiru tahun 2016/2017. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Keaktifan siswa digunakan sebagai variabel moderator. Metode yang digunakan adalah tes, wawancara tidak terstruktur, skala sikap, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan uji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji one sample t-test, uji two sample t-test, uji N-gain, dan uji korelasi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat perbedaan nyata antara skor rata-rata kemampuan verbal siswa dengan skor KKM sesudah pembelajaran dengan PBL melalui demonstrasi, (2) tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata antara skor rata-rata kemampuan verbal siswa dengan skor KKM sesudah pembelajaran dengan PBL melalui diskusi, (3) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan verbal siswa sesudah penggunaan PBL melalui demonstrasi dengan melalui diskusi, dan (4) terdapat hubungan positif antara tingkat keaktifan terhadap kemampuan verbal siswa. Simpulan hasil penelitian adalah pembelajaran PBL melalui demonstrasi lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan verbal. PBL melalui demonstrasi mampu membantu siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami soal cerita sehingga meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap permasalahan pada soal cerita matematika.The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of problem based learning (PBL) through demonstration and discussion towards verbal skill and students’ activity as moderating variable. This type of study is experimental research with pretest-posttest design. The population of the study were the fifth grade elementary schools in Banyubiru District in the year of 2016/2017. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. The method used were test, unstructured interview, attitude scales, and documentation. Data analysis techniques by validity test, reliability, level of difficulty level, normality test, homogeneity test, one sample t-test, two sample t-test, N-gain test, and correlate bivariate test. The results of the study shows that: (1) there is significance difference in the average score of verbal skill with Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) score after being taught by using PBL through demonstration, (2) there isn’t significance difference score in the average of verbal skills with MMC score after being taught by using PBL through discussion, (3) there is significance difference of verbal skills after being taught by using PBL through demonstration and discusion, and (4) there is positive correlation of the level of activity and verbal skill. The conclusions are PBL through demonstration is better in improving verbal skill. PBL through demonstration will enhance students' understanding towards the problems that exist in mathematics word problems.

Abstract

Educational problems require an innovative learning system and research to solve the problems. Research with learning model is line of way to improve the quality of education. The objectives of the research are to describe the way of implementing Karisma learning model, to know the difference of character improvement and learning outcomes, and to know the problems that occurred when implementing the Karisma learning model in Elementary School. Type of research which was used in the research was experiment, while the data analysis technique which was used was two way variant (two way anava) The result of research of the significance of students’ character improvement for factor of student attitude learning model is 0,026 <0,05, or Ftable = 3,027 and Fcount = 3,683. Students’ learning outcomes generally improved with the average of SD LB score 88, SD MR score 74. SD SM scores 82, and SD DD score 78. The results of study by using Karisma learning modelare better, that is 83.29, compared with conventional model which is only scored 74.76. Response data shows that students feel active and do discussion with score of 83.2%. Based on the data analys, schools that implement the Karisma learning model have more positive impact when it is implemented.

Abstract

The background that drives this research is not yet honed the skills of the process of science and creative thinking. The aims of this research is to know the effect of STEM based learning based learning model on science process skill and creative thinking. The study was conducted on the water cycle material and its use. The research method is Quasi Eksperimental Design. The sampling technique is saturated sampling. The data collection tools in the form of observation instruments of science process skill, and instrument of creative thinking. The data were analyzed using independent t-test to test the difference. In testing the increase and effect of using N-gain. The result of the research shows that there is difference of influence of creative thinking skill, this is seen from the average of N-gain pretest and posttest in the students. The findings of the research are the significant increase of creative thinking skills in the experimental class 1. Improving creative thinking skill which in the high category is 23% and the middle category is 77%. In the experiment class 2, the high category is calculated as 4% and 96% are categorized into the medium category. The conclusion of the research is the learning model of learning based project based learning STEM can improve the skills of science process and creative thinking of the students. Learning based project based learning STEM is expected to be a reference in the application of learning.

Abstract

Observation in SDN Slawi Kulon 03 shows that concept mastery of the elementary students’ science is still poor and the life skills that are the basic of the students' character have not been fully explored. Students are also still not familiar with the cultural characteristics of their region. This study aims to see the increase in concept mastery of ethnoscience-based integrated science and the development of elementary students' life skills using guided inquiry learning. This experimental study uses the design of one group pre-test - post test. The sample of the research is the fourth-grade students of SDN Slawi Kulon 03 and SDN Blubuk 06 Tegal. The data collection was using observation technique, written test, and documentation. The results show an increase in concept mastery of ethnoscience-based integrated science and the development of life skills significantly when the teacher used guided inquiry learning in both schools.

Abstract

The 21st century of learning refers to the development of students’ activeness. One of the effort to improve is the students activeness accompanied with contextual learning based ethnoscience that affect the activity of students’ learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the implementation of contextual learning based etnosains on the students' learning activity. The location of the study was SDN Kauman and SD N 5 Mulyoharjo, Jepara. The type of the study was a mixed method, with embedded experimental models design. The total sample in this study were 61 students. The data were done by using test method, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The result of this study is the profile of the contextual learning on the activeness of students. There is a significant effect of contextual learning based ethnoscience on the students' learning activeness. The students' learning activeness is categorized as high category with the percentage of 91.09% for SD N Kauman and 89% for SD N 5 Mulyoharjo. The conclusion of this study is that the contextual learning based ethnoscience has significant effect on the students' learning activeness.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the process of developing a Cirebon ethnoscience-based thematic-integrated book for primary 4 students with the theme “Selalu Berhemat Energi” along with its’ validity. This study applied development technique of ADDIE that consists of five stages: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) develop, (4) implement, and (5) evaluate (Branch, 2010). The analysis stage was carried out by taking theoretical review and field data through questionnaires and interview conducted to teachers and principals from four schools in Cirebon which have implemented 2013 curriculum. It was found from the respondents that they have not integrated Cirebon’s culture into the learning process except Art. Thus, students have comprehension on their own culture. Prototypes of the product were then created as the basis of the product development. Through the validation process and suggestions from the validators, the product then developed into an ethnoscience-based of thematic-integrated book entitled “Selalu Berhemat Energi” with batik mega mendung taken as the main learning material of the developed book.

Abstract

Building literacy education and students character in the 21st century began to be developed specifically in schools. The development of character education and the improvement of mastery literacy can be done by habituation and ethnoscience-based guided inquiry learning. The purpose of this study was to learn the implementation of ethnoscience-based guided inquiry learning on the literature and students character. The place of this research is at SDN 2 Wonosobo and SDN 5 Wonosobo, Wonosobo Regency. The type of research is a mixed method, with embedded experimental design. The sample in this study amounted to 56 students, for qualitative data samples, three samples were selected which obtained poor pretest (SP-1), moderate (SP-2), and high (SP-3) values. Data collection is done by test, observation, and documentation methods. The results of this study show a significant effect on the implementation of ethnoscience-based guided inquiry learning and the mastery of students literacy. This can be seen from the significance value of p (asymp. Sig. 2 tailed) of 0,000. The character development of students varied enough from SP-1, SP-2, and SP-3, and showed better development from each meeting. The conclusion in this study shows that ethnoscience-based guided inquiry learning gives a significant influence on the mastery of scientific literacy and the student's character.

Abstract

The implementation of character education in Indonesia show that students have not received proper and maximum character education services because the unavailabilities of integrated character mapped in a tiered and focused manner. This research conducts the integration of character values into the curriculum that is stated in the mathematics syllabus and learning devices for Junior High School grade VII, VIII, and IX that is based on ATONG (Amati Tanya Olah Nalar dan Gagas) in a tiered and focused manner. This research aims to design syllabus and learning devices based on the ATONG approach that integrated character education; produce a valid syllabus and learning devices; and test the effectiveness of the coordinate system learning based on the ATONG approach with Eliciting Activities model that integrated hard work character. This research refers to the Borg & Gall model (2003) which is modified into 5 steps. The learning devices test was conducted in sampling method in grade VIII SMP Kartika XII. The result of expert validation shows that the syllabus and learning devices are valid with a score of 3.60 which is considered as very good; the learning devices test results in an effective learning. This research is success to map characters in a focused and tiered manner on innovative mathematics learning. The mapping of specific cognitive and psychomotor abilities is indispensable because the mapping in the syllabus is still general.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop learning tool of Guided Inquiry learning model, in term of Ethnomathematics contained validity, effectiveness, and practicability of the learning model. The design of this study is Research and Development (R&D) from Thiagarajan with 4D, namely define, design, develop and dissemination, at the define step which is to find the problem of low mathematical values, at this design stage planning syllabus, lesson plans, learning devices are designed. At the development stage the author combine mathematics and Cirebon culture in a learning tools, and than final stage dissemination learning tools. Limited trial of learning device is conducted in SDN 1 Kalitengah, trial design is using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. SDN 2 Kalitengah is as experimental class and SDN 3 Kalitengah as control class. The technique of collecting data in this study is with test technique and non-test technique. Non-test technique in this study is using observation method, documentation, and questionnaire. The instrument of study is observation sheet, validity sheet of learning device of Guided Inquiry contained Ethnomathematics. The technique of analyzing data is using pre-requirement test (validity test, reliability test, different power, difficulty level, normality test, and homogeneity test), N-gain test, and independent sample t test. The result of study, learning device that is developed categorized valid to be used with score result on the average lesson plan (RPP) 3.35, Syllabus 3.46, teaching materials 3.43, student work sheet (LKS) 3.37 and study result test 3.49. The result of effectiveness of learning device shows progress of mean of study result before applying in number 61.97 and after applying in number of 89.72, N-gain score of experimental class in number of 0.73.
