Abstract

The presence of sharia financial technology (fintech) as a credible financial institution is expected to be able to help the problems that are often faced by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the behavior of MSME actors in the use of sharia fintech lending and conventional fintech lending. The research method used in this research is normative legal research by analyzing the laws and regulations as well as relevant studies through the issues in the study. This study uses a statutory and conceptual approach, both of which function to analyze the applicable legal rules so that differences can be found between conventional and sharia peer to peer lending fintechs and the extent to which sharia rules are applied in these fintechs. This study concludes that Islamic fintech plays a role as a driving factor in increasing the inclusiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. The presence of the sharia fintech industry can overcome the problems of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, especially related to financing needs, ease of transaction processing, expansion of market access, and ease of preparation of financial reports.

Abstract

The rapid shift from conventional insurance services to digital platforms poses significant challenges for Sharia-based insurance companies in maintaining customer loyalty. This study aims to examine the effect of digital transformation on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable, in the context of PT Prudential Syariah, Medan Polonia CBD. Using a quantitative explanatory research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires from 376 purposively selected customers. Variables measured include digital transformation (independent), customer satisfaction (mediator), and customer loyalty (dependent). Data analysis employed linear regression and Sobel test using SPSS 25. Results indicate that digital transformation has a positive and significant impact on both customer satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, customer satisfaction positively and significantly influences customer loyalty, and it mediates the relationship between digital transformation and loyalty. These findings suggest that enhancing digital service features such as user-friendly applications, efficient claims processes, and real-time policy management can foster higher satisfaction levels, which in turn strengthen long-term customer commitment. Practically, insurance companies, particularly in the Sharia sector, should prioritize digital innovation to remain competitive and build sustainable customer relationships in the digital era.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) policy on Indonesia’s export growth to ASEAN markets, with a specific focus on the agricultural sector as a key driver of the national economy. The main problem addressed is that, despite the elimination of tariffs under AFTA, Indonesian exporters still face significant non-tariff barriers, including stringent product quality standards, complex customs procedures, and regulatory disparities among ASEAN member states. The purpose of this research is to provide a comprehensive evaluation of both the quantitative benefits and the persistent technical and structural challenges of AFTA implementation. Using a literature review approach, the study analyzes secondary data from 2015 to 2024 obtained from credible sources, including government institutions, ASEAN reports, and international trade organizations. The results reveal that AFTA has significantly increased Indonesia’s export value in various subsectors such as palm oil, fisheries, horticulture, and processed food products. The removal of trade tariffs has enhanced market access, improved competitiveness, and encouraged investment in the agricultural sector. However, the study also finds that non-tariff barriers remain a major obstacle to maximizing AFTA’s benefits. As its novelty, this research not only assesses the quantitative growth of exports but also examines in depth the nature of non-tariff barriers and evaluates government policy responses, such as the harmonization of standards and the implementation of the National Single Window system. The study recommends strengthening inter-agency coordination and regional cooperation to fully optimize the benefits of ASEAN free trade.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the halal industry as a solution to increase economic growth in West Nusa Tenggara. The research approach uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview methods. The findings in this research are that economic growth in a province can be increased, one of which is through optimizing the halal industry. By optimizing sharia-based industry, it will become an attractive brand for investors, tourists and creative economy players to improve the economy in NTB. This labeling of the halal industry must of course be supported by binding and sustainable provincial government regulations. So the existence of a halal park industry roadmap designed by the provincial government really helps accelerate the halal industry so that economic growth in NTB can grow and be strong. The halal industry not only pays attention to halal tourism, halal food, halal cosmetics and medicines but also pays attention to the facilities and infrastructure of the sharia financial industry, where the growth of sharia industrial assets in NTB is currently still relatively slow. The role of the OJK as well as financial and non-bank institutions is very much needed so that this halal industry can develop well.

Abstract

The presence of fiqh rules is a solution in responding to problems related to the determination of Islamic law in facing the realities of today. Especially, in the context of transactions in Islamic financial institutions, fiqh rules play an important role in determining the law in accordance with the teachings of the Qur'an, Hadith, and Ijma. The rules of fiqh are present with the main purpose of determining Islamic law in the face of new challenges that continue to develop along with the changing times, especially in the context of economic transactions or muamalah maliyah which continues to grow in Islamic financial institutions. The rules of fiqh are the result of ijtihad and are a generalization of various fiqh themes that have spread among the scholars of the madhhab. The presence of these rules is very important to provide a framework that makes it easy to determine contemporary laws, especially related to economic issues that often do not have nash sharîh (definite evidence) in the Qur'an or Hadith. Thus, the rules of fiqh become a much-needed instrument in providing understanding and resolution of legal issues that arise in the context of modern economics, especially in Islamic financial institutions
