Abstract

One of its competency that students must have to face the 4.0 era is the critical thinking skills. These skills can be trained using appropriate learning media, one of which is by using digital books based on problem-based learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of using problem-based books, problem-based learning materials, and analysis systems on students' critical thinking skills. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling method with a total of 108 students. Based on the results of the study, the average student learning outcomes obtained a score of 67. The results of the N-gain analysis with the medium category showed that digital-based learning problem-based books were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills. The results of the analysis with the Paired Sample t-test showed that the probability value (sig) 0.000 <0.05 means that there are differences in critical thinking skills between before and after using problem-based learning-based digital books. Thus it can be concluded that the use of digital books based on learning materials based on problems with the motion system is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Independent Learning is an educational process that guides students to develop according to their nature to achieve safety and happiness. One of the characteristics of Pancasila student profiles is critical thinking, in the hope that students can mobilize and develop physical and spiritual strength in accordance with nature, era, and society. This happens because education does not provide the widest possible space for students. There needs to be a LMS G-Site with Independent Learning Flow to improve critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the use of the LMS G-Site with the Independent Learning flow to improve the critical thinking skills of high school students on the subject of human respiration. This study is conducted using Research and Development (R&D) model. The research design was carried out using the ADDIE development research design. The characteristic of LMS-G-Site is that there is an Independent Learning flow where in each flow, materials, learning videos and tasksin differentiated learning are provided. The use of the LMS G-Site with Independent Learning Flow is reflected in the post-test score (90.08%) which is higher than the pre-test score (63.83%) and the N-gain test result is 76% in the high category. As for student learning outcomes based on assignments as much as 80.43% of students got an assignment score in the very good category and as many as 19.57% students got an assignment score in the good category. Thus the LMS-G-Site with Independent Learning Flow can be used as an alternative to improve students' critical thinking skills based on knowledge and students’ skills in differentiated learning aspects.

This research is a Research and Development (R&D) that use the ADDIE model by applying a one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects to test the teaching materials developed were two expert lecturers consisting of Biology material experts, media experts, practitioners and 125 students of class X MIPA in Kudus. The research instruments are expert validation questionnaire, readability questionnaires of teaching materials and scientific literacy test questions. The analysis of the expert validation questionnaire data showed the average score on the feasibility aspects that were considered very valid. The readability questionnaire analysis describe the teaching materials as having very good readability, which meant that the teaching materials were easy to understand and read by students. The results of the N-Gain analysis of scientific literacy for each aspect of scientific literacy are in the moderate category. The aspect of science as a body of knowledge is 0.49, science as a way of investigation is 0.52, science as a way of thinking is 0.50 and the interaction of science, technology and society is 0.56. Based on the results of the analysis of biodiversity teaching materials based on the Socio Scientific Issue, it is very suitable to be used in learning and is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Guided Inquiry Model with SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) vision on communication skills and understanding the concept of science. This research design is quasi-experimental design. The data were obtained from a test and the experimental report assessment rubric. The analysis data was used quantitative analysis technique i.e effect size test, N-gain test, average difference test, and simple linear regression test. The result of the effect size value of the experimental class is 1.30 in the high category, while the control class is 0.59 in the moderate category. The mean score of the students' experimental reports was higher classically in the experimental class, namely 71 and 60 in the control class. The guided inquiry learning model with SETS vision is effective in improving students' understanding of science concepts. This is indicated by the average N-gain experiment 57.80> 39.70 N-control control and the average difference test results show the value of Asymp Sig. (2-tailed) of 0,000. (0.000 <0.05). Learning that familiarizes students with scientific thinking, finding concepts and connecting concepts with everyday life and communicating their thoughts both orally and in writing trains reasoning skills. This reasoning ability can develop communication skills in students and build understanding of concepts. This study concludes that learning the SETS Vision Guided Inquiry Model is effective in improving communication skills and understanding of science concepts

This research is an ADDIE Research and Development. The model consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects consisted of 93 third graders of 02 Santo Antonius Primary School.. The techniques of collecting data were interview, observation, questionnaire, and documentation. The product was a module for teachers with several contents, such as the bio-conservation model's characteristics, goals, and syntaxes. The validation result obtained a percentage of 88.6%. The N-gain of the first experimental group was 0.072 with high criteria. On the other hand, the second experimental group obtained a percentage of 0.514 with moderate criteria. The understanding of environmental awareness attitude was obtained by using a questionnaire and observational sheets. The obtained criteria were categorized high, with average scores of questionnaire 87.2% and observation 85.9%. This research showed the influence of learning outcomes and environmental awareness attitude after using the bio conservation model. The model implementation's emerging characters were waste management and 3R activities (Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce).
