Abstract

Hasil studi pendahuluan yang telah dilakukan di SD IT Umar Bin Khattab diketahui bahwa bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran selama ini adalah buku dari pemerintah dan beberapa buku dari penerbit lain yang beredar di pasaran. Materi pembelajaran yang disajikan dalam buku tersebut belum mampu menggambarkan kondisi nyata di lingkungan sekitar khususnya daerah Kudus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepraktisan modul ethno-edutainment pada siswa sekolah dasar berbasis islam di Kudus. Modul ethno-edutainment dikembangkan dengan model Borg and Gall yang dimodifikasi.Tahap pengembangan modul ethno-edutainment meliputi tahap studi pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan dan validasi produk, dan tahap uji coba produk. Pada tahap uji coba produk dilakukan kegiatan uji coba skala terbatas, dan uji coba skala luas. Uji kepraktisan dilakukan pada tahap uji skala luas dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV di SD IT Umar Bin Khattab. Kepraktisan modul ethno-edutainment dinilai dengan menggunakan angket respon siswa dan wawancara terhadap guru.  Hasil respon siswa terhadap modul ethno-edutainment menunjukkan adalah 87,5% artinya siswa memberikan respon positif. Guru juga memberikan respon positif terhadap modul ethno-edutainment. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa modul ethno-edutainment yang dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the problems of education in Indonesia that needs attention to be resolved immediately. The ability of science literacy in Indonesia is still low, which is evidenced by the International agency Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) through the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) to Children aged 15 years. This study aimed to (1) determine the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) aided by Performance Assessment of students 'scientific literacy abilities and , (2) to describe the students' scientific literacy abilities reviewed by Adversity Quotient (AQ). This research used a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study ware students IV A (experimental group) and class IV B (control group) in SDN 1 Purwawinangun Cirebon. In this study data were taken using test instruments and questionners. Data analysis used were the normality test, the homogeneity test, and the average similarity test. Obtained data indicate that the class taken as samples in this study were normally distributed and have homogeneous variances. It means that the sample comes from the same condition that was having the same knowledge. N-gain test showed that the experimental group was 0.31 score as the medium category and the control group was 0.29 score as the low category. The finding showed that PBL model aided by performance assessment was effective for increasing students' scientific literacy ability were which indicated by student’s with PBL learning aided by performance assessment was by achieving complete scientific literacy on PBL aided by performance assessment better than students on PBL. The pattern of science literacy ability reviewed by AQ; a) climber students type were able to master both of the aspects applying and designing problem strategies. b) camper type students were mastered both of the aspect reasoning and able analyzed that given problems. c) quitter type students have ably mastered only the knowing aspect.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop the assessment instrument of performance integrated 4C to measure the science process skills in the experimental activities at elementary schools. This research applied the Research and Development method. The development design was adjusted with the ADDIE model. The subjects of the research were grade V teachers and students in the second semester of 2018/2019 academic year at SDN Karangmlati 1 Demak. Based on the results of this research, it was obtained that the assessment instrument of performance integrated 4C has a validity of 93.12%, meanwhile, the validity of the process skills test instrument reached to 91.87%. The reliability of the assessment instrument of performance reached to 0.95, whereas, the reliability of the science process skills test instrument reached to 0.88. The practicality of the instrument reached to 86.4%. The highest percentage of science process skills of the students grade V in the aspect of planning the experiment skills reached a percentage of 93% (very high). This research is expected to help teachers carry out assessments of performance objectively and fairly that have a positive impact on the quality of learning at schools.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking (HOT) ability and environmental attitudes was needed in facing challenges, demands, and the rapid development in the 21st century. Conditioning students in learning requires good teaching materials in accordance with students? need and global demans, current or future. One of the teaching materials needed was content-based on scientific literacy and conservation. The purpose of this study was (1) to analyze the improvement of HOT ability and environmental attitude of students through the implementation of teaching materials based on scientific and conservation literacy. (2) to analyze the differences of improving students? Higher Order Thinking Ability and environmental attitudes using scientific-based literacy and conservation as the teaching materials and not using it. This research was an experimental study conducted by pretest-posttest and group control design. The reseach subject was 30 students in grade VIIC (experimental group) and 30 students in VIIA grade (control group) in SMP N 1 Kaliwiro. We used written test to gather students? HOT ability improvement, and Likert scales for students? environmental attitude data.  The data analysis technique used was using the N-gain test and t-test. The results of the study obtained that N-gain value of the experimental group on the aspect of Higher Order Thinking ability 0.70, the control group 0.40 which has the results of the t-test -7.83. The results of the environmental attitudes obtained the N-gain value of the experimental group 0.50 and the control group 0.18 which has the results of the t-test -7.19. The results showed that teaching materials based on scientific literacy and conservation can be used to improve Students? higher order thinking ability and environmental attitude.

Abstract

In this 21st century educational, students are required to be able to have collaborative competence and critical thinking. So that, the school should be able to prepare students with such competences. This is an increasingly competitive challenge in the world of education. The research aims to analyse the effectiveness of PjBL learning models on the collaborative ability and critical thinking of senior high school students on subject of Structure, Way of Life and Role of Bacteria in Life. The method in this research was experimental research with Pre-Experimental design. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 13 Semarang and MA Nurussalam Semarang with a total of 45 students. We used observation sheets and tests as the instrument. The observation sheet was used to measure collaborative ability while test was used to measure critical thinking skills. The data analysis techniques used standard of criteria and N-gain. Standard of criteria to measure collaborative ability while N-gain to measure increased critical thinking ability. The results of the research obtained (1) The average percentage of the collaborative ability score of class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang is 71.6% while the class X IPA MA Nurussalam is 71.0%; (2) in the first test, the average percentage of critical thinking ability of class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang is 62.9% while the class X IPA MA Nurussalam is 78.3%. In the second test, the average percentage of the critical thinking ability score of class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang is 75.1% while the class X IPA MA Nurussalam is 80.0%. Both classes experienced an increase in the average percentage score of critical thinking abilities. The class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang has increased by 12.2% while X IPA MA Nurussalam has an increase of 1.7%. Based on the research results it can be concluded that the implementation of PjBL learning model is effective on improving collaborative ability and critical thinking of students in SMA Negeri 13 Semarang and MA Nurussalam Semarang

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning models for increasing critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students, analyze the Implementation of Outdoor Guided Inquiry learning models in increasing critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students, comparing the effectiveness of POE learning model and Outdoor Guided Inquiry in the critical thinking ability of fifth grade elementary school students. This research used a quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control group design. The population and sample taken in this study were all fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Sambong (eksperimen group) and SD Negeri 3 Sambong (control group), totaling 42 students. The experimental group was intervened by Outdoor Guided Inquiry while the control group by Predict Observe Explain.  In this study data were taken using test instrument and questionners. Data analysis techniques used in this study were independent samples t-test, and classical completeness test and N-gain test. N-gain calculation results show that the average in the OGI class is 0.61, and the POE class is 0.38, which means that the Outdoor Guided Inquiry model is better in improving students' critical thinking abilitis compared to the Predict Observe Explain model. Based on the t-test calculation of OGY and POE classes, ttable = 2.021 and tvalue = 4.265, so tvalue > ttable shows that the OGI learning model is significantly better than the POE model.

Abstract

The challenge of education entering the 21st century in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is expected to get graduates who are competent in utilizing ICT but also competent in developing critical thinking skills. This research aims to develop digital book based on local wisdom to improve critical thinking skills. This research includes Research and Development (R&D) research using ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) models. Data analysis techniques used in this study include descriptive data analysis related to the validity and response of users, while to determine the effectiveness of the product used the N-gain test. The results show (1) the developed digital book has valid criteria regarding aspects of the material, presentation, and language (2) students and teachers provide responses to the local wisdom digital book used in learning with response criteria strongly agree (3) assessment results Students' critical thinking skills show improvement with high N-Gain grades. The developed local wisdom digital book is suitable to be used as an alternative source of learning additive material in natural science learning in the face of the 21st century and the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Higher order thinking skills sangat dibutuhkan untuk memahami permasalahan dan esensi materi perkuliahan Biologi Sel. Studi dengan desain Research and Development ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran dan berpikir analitik mahasiswa calon guru biologi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Integrasi Atribut Asesmen Formatif (IAAF). Sejumlah 61 mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Negeri Semarang semester tiga yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah Biologi Sel menjadi subjek penelitian. Kemampuan penalaran dan berpikir analitik mahasiswa diukur melalui tugas individu, tugas kelompok pembuatan peta konsep dan penyusunan laporan reviu artikel, dan 30 item soal berbentuk selected response questions dan constructed response questions tervalidasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran dan berpikir analitik mahasiswa dapat berkembang secara signifikan, meskipun perkembangan kemampuan argumentasi, salah satu kategori kemampuan berpikir analitik, masih perlu perhatian yang cukup serius. Study design Research and Development aims to develop reasoning skills and analytic thinking biology student teachers through the application of learning models Integration Attributes Formative Assessment (IAAF). Some 61 students of Biology Education Semarang State University who is doing his third semester courses Cell Biology is the subject of research. Analytical reasoning and thinking ability of students is measured through individual assignments, group assignments concept map creation and preparation of the Review articles, and 30 items about the shape of the selected response and constructed response questions, validated questions. The result showed that the ability of reasoning and analytical thinking of students can be expanded significantly, although the development of the ability of argumentation, one category of analytic thinking skills, they need serious attention.

Abstract

Land shortage becomes the main environmental problem for many schools in urban areas. Hygienic and eco-friendly behavior, along with waste management are not optimally conducted in the schools. This problem is also encountered in SD Pleburan 03 and SD Pleburan 04, Semarang, Indonesia. This program aims to raise environmental awareness of people in the school to take part in embodying the green school program. The responsibility also belongs to UNNES as one of the conservation-centered universities. Therefore, UNNES community empowerment team carried out a community empowerment program to actualize the environmentally-centered green school idea in SD Pleburan 03-04. Methods applied were arranged in various stages of activities, which are socialization, integration, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Results show that the principal and the teachers of the school are able to develop environmentally based learning infrastructures. Teachers are also able to practice environmentally based learning process. Students are capable to practice hydroponic techniques. Moreover, the school now also possesses an eco –friendly supporting system. In conclusion, this program encourages people of SD Pleburan 03-04 to move forward as an environmentally based green school.

Abstract

The challenge of improving the 21st-century education quality in the industrial revolution 4.0 erais that graduates are expected to have theknowledge skills, abilities in the field of technology, information media, and learning innovation skills for life and career skills. This research was aimed to develop a digital fungi pocketbook in Mount Merbabu National Park to improve student learning outcomes. This research was a Research and Development (R&D) study, which used the Gall, Gall, and Borg model. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive data analysis related to the validity of responses from users, while the N-gain test was used to determine the product's effectiveness. The results showed (1) the digital pocketbook developed had very valid criteria regarding aspects of media, language, and material (2) students and teachers gave responses to the digital pocketbook used in learning with very valid response criteria (3) the value of learning outcomes students showed improvement with moderate N-Gain scores. Thus, the digital pocketbook that was developed can be used as an additional learning source in learning Natural Sciences (Biology) in the face of the 21st century and the industrial revolution 4.0.
