Abstract

Digital native or screenagers cannot be separated from technology in their education and entertainment (edutainment). That phenomenon gives them an opportunity to be autonomous learners. Regarding the principle of autonomous learners, this study was aimed at developing an Android Package Kit (APK) smartphone application as learning media for facilitating screenagers. A research and development design comprising need analysis, design, and development was employed during the study. Freshmen year of English Language Education who attended English Intensive Course (IEC) were involved in the study. The data were collected through students’ interview guide, document analysis, expert judgment rubrics, and a questionnaire. The result showed that the freshmen year needed innovative, challenging, and fun English learning media in the course. In addition, the application was developed based on five topics found in the document analysis, namely “Meeting at the Campus”, “What You Are Wearing”, “Directions”, “Weather”, and “Necessity and Obligation”. From the result of the expert judgment, the learning media were considered excellent. Both learners and lecturers in this digital era should consider the needs of utilizing technology in teaching and learning process specifically for facilitating autonomous learners.

Abstract

In the learning process, it is necessary to have learning resources that meet the needs of students like teaching modules. However, there are only several teaching modules can meet the learning needs, and there is no variation at all. By this phenomenom, a digital teaching module was developed on VCT-based teaching practice material for elementary Civics learning courses. It also completed with examples of teaching practices for VCT in Civics learning. This research used the ADDIE model. The subjects in this study were six experts. The data collection methods used were both interview and questionnaire methods. The results showed that the digital module on VCT teaching practice material for elementary civics learning courses obtained a material expert validity index of 95.95%, from media experts of 96% with a very good qualifications, and design experts of 92.5% with very good qualifications. The average value of the teaching module practitioners obtained 98.65% with a very good qualifications, the average value of the individual test was 95% with a very qualifications, and the average value of the small group test was 97.7% with a very good qualifications. So, it is concluded that the development of digital teaching modules on teaching practice material based on the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) for elementary civics learning courses is declared valid and practical to be applied as a guide for elementary civics learning courses.

Abstract

The close relationship between reading and writing literacy allows students to obtain information, increase knowledge, and express ideas in writing. However, the reality in the field shows that literacy literacy in reading and writing is still lacking, mainly due to the lack of specific learning guides, limited use of literacy materials, and students' low interest in reading. Therefore, there needs to be a literacy guide that is clearer and more appropriate to student needs. This development research uses a 4-D model with the aim of developing a digital-based learning guidebook to improve the reading and writing skills of second grade elementary school students. The subjects involved in this research were three experts, namely content experts, language experts and design experts. The method used in data collection is a questionnaire. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that the book developed meets the criteria for feasibility, practicality and effectiveness. Innovative digital-based learning guidebooks have been proven to be used as a potential solution to reading and writing literacy challenges. Therefore, this research has implications for increasing reading and writing literacy learning that is fun for students and can prevent boredom during learning.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop Si Ceria, an interactive Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media to enhance fifth-grade students’ understanding of science concepts and their learning engagement. The innovation responds to the low levels of student achievement and engagement, attributed to the lack of effective and interactive learning media. Data revealed that students’ science concept mastery in the IPAS subject remains low at 71.75%, and learning engagement is also weak, with 33.41% of students indicating they “never” feel engaged during lessons. Si Ceria was developed to support metacognitive learning by incorporating features that help students monitor and evaluate their learning goals. The media combines 3D illustrations, videos, and textual information to deepen conceptual understanding. The development followed the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results showed Si Ceria has a very high level of validity, with expert ratings of 0.93 (media), 0.95 (content), and 0.96 (design). It was also rated highly practical by students, with 92.8% expressing satisfaction with its usability and visual appeal. Effectiveness testing indicated significant improvements in both conceptual understanding and learning engagement. Therefore, Si Ceria demonstrates strong potential as an innovative and independent learning tool for elementary science education.
