Abstract

This study aims to measure the impact of the Inquiry Project-Based Learning model on the critical thinking abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Budya Wacana Kindergarten, Yogyakarta. The research methodology adopted an experimental quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 35 children selected through the Total Sampling technique. Data were collected using observation sheets and documentation, with instruments focusing on five indicators of critical thinking ability. Data analysis employed normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests using SPSS 25. The results indicated a significant increase in posttest essential scores of thinking (86.03) compared to the pretest (47.60), with a t-value of -31.352 and a significance of 0.000. These findings affirm the effectiveness of this learning model in enhancing early childhood critical thinking skills while also opening opportunities for further research in early childhood education. This study has significant implications for educational practice, suggesting integrating the Inquiry Project-Based Learning method into the curriculum and highlighting the need for teacher training to implement this method. However, limitations exist, such as focusing on a limited sample size and not evaluating long-term effects.

Abstract

Class climate plays a dual role as a dependent and independent variable. As a dependent variable, the class climate is influenced by several variables. On the other hand, as an independent variable, the class climate is correlated with other variables. This research aims to confirm the studies that have been done before and ensure that these related variables must be increased or become the impact of increasing the classroom climate. This type of research is a literature study that explores more than 40 articles about classroom climate conducted in Indonesia and other countries. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that among the variables that influence or contribute to classroom climate are simulation strategies, student attitudes, teacher behaviour, and integration between media and learning approaches. Variables that are affected by classroom climate include student behaviour, student achievement, student motivation, learning outcomes, and bullying behaviour. Therefore, teachers and principals are recommended to increase the variables that affect classroom climate and the classroom climate itself because they will also affect other variables. This study convinces the reader that classroom climate is an intermediary variable which is a key factor for improving the learning process.

Abstract

Effective learning can accommodate individual differences, is active and respects the learning of each child, and promotes deep understanding. Therefore, a method is needed to achieve the goal of active learning. The purpose of lecturers' activities outside the campus (DKL) is to provide an understanding of how teachers can achieve effective learning goals with a differentiated learning approach using the MIKiR model. This DKL activity is conducted in the Muhammadiyah Kadisoka Yogyakarta school network for 6 (six) months. The number of participants involved is 35 Muhammadiyah elementary school teachers in the Kadisoka network, in the form of training and mentoring. There are several stages in this DKL, namely three stages: needs assessment, workshops, and independent practice. At the beginning of the activity, several problems were identified related to students' difficulty in grasping material quickly, teachers' difficulty in explaining certain materials to students with specific characteristics, and communication barriers with teachers during learning. After the activity ended, it was shown that there was a change in the learning situation, where students found it easier to grasp learning materials, teachers had a easier times adapting materials to individual characteristics, and communication between teachers and students flowed smoothly and diagonally, with students actively and enjoyably learning.

Abstract

Management and communication are two vital things an educational institution needs to pay attention to to achieve organisational goals. Communication helps managerial functions to run effectively. Important communication is in every stage of the management function, from planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. In addition, communication guarantees that there is no interruption of information in every management, including educational institutions such as schools. This paper seeks to explore and obtain information about organizational communication management. The type of research used in this paper is literature research (literary study) in which theory is taken from library data and then studied and examined in obtaining contents to obtain objective results. A literature study found that a school has several organisational communication management strategies that are optimal and effective in achieving organisational goals, including those of Islamic schools. First, in order to be an effective school, all systems in an organisation must carry out their respective functions properly. Second, whatever the pattern of organisational communication in schools, the most important thing in an organisation is the direction of communication that is able to accommodate the flow of information. Third, to become an effective school, school management must be able to overcome communication barriers with various strategies. Fourth, religious values play an important role in the context of Islamic schools through prophetic communication. This will form a noble culture of Islamic educational organizations that support organizational communication management so that a school transforms into an excellent and effective school.

Abstract

This type of research is ex post facto research. The calculation of the sample size uses a table by Stephen Isaac, which is calculated by the Krecjie and Morgan formula (1970). From a sample of 330, a sample of 172 is needed (with a 5% error chance). Data analysis techniques are used using descriptive statistics and parametric statistics. The results of the analysis show that the effect of PLP 1 on microteaching, as seen in Pair 1, is 6.632 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), then H0 is rejected and Ha is tested. The effect of microteaching on PLP 2 is seen in pair 2, where the t value is 1.126 with a significance level of 0.262 (p value> 0.05), then H0 is accepted. Ha is not tested. The effect of PLP 1 on educational practice is seen in pair 3, where the t value is 8.465 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), then H0 is rejected and Ha is tested. The effect of microteaching on educational practice is seen in pair 4, where the t value is -4.287 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), and H0 is rejected. Ha is tested. The effect of PLP 2 on educational practice is seen in pair 5, and the calculated t value is 10.749 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value <0.05), so H0 is rejected. The alternative hypothesis is tested.
