Abstract

An increase in population can lead to an increase in the number of space requirements while an increase in the number of space requirements can trigger the growth and development of an area. The growth is also experienced by Dalung Village with the potential that characterizes the embryo of an urban area, one of which has very high accessibility. Thus, future developments in Dalung Village will experience settlement compaction which will trigger the growth of slum areas and traffic congestion in the future. For this reason, this study aims to analyze the growth pattern of residential areas in Dulung Village. The research method used is descriptive qualitative to describe the spatial pattern of the growth of residential areas in Dulung Village. The analysis used is morphological analysis, which is used to identify the physical space in Dalung Village. The types of data that will be used in this study are the types of primary data and secondary data. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that the growth pattern of residential areas in Dalung Village is seen from the spatial shape of the city's morphology which tends to be in the form of an octopus because it is influenced by the development of existing transportation routes, while the development of the morphology of the settlement area in Dalung Village tends to be more elongated / ribbon because the development of settlements in Dalung Village occurs because of the transportation route.

Abstract

Corridor P.B Sudirman in Denpasar City has not been fully good in terms of facilities and infrastructure such as the arrangement of street furniture which is one of the supporting elements of public space that reinforces the character and image of city street corridors. Street furniture must be integrated and harmonious with other urban design elements to give a neat and orderly impression on the street corridors. The research method used in this research is qualitative - a case study by presenting primary data and where later the data to be used is obtained from surveys, observations in the field and will be compared with existing theories. There are approximately 6 out of 10 types of street furniture or street furniture analyzed, whereof all these types there are several street furniture that still needs to be fixed and corrected as well as its existence because the existence of street furniture in a road corridor area can later lead to the face or image of the corridor The city, especially in this discussion, is the image of Denpasar City on the PB Sudirman corridor thus creating the image of Denpasar City which is cultured and humane.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana Bale Banjar berfungsi sebagai ruang publik yang mendukung interaksi sosial dan pelestarian budaya di tengah arus modernisasi. Latar belakang penelitian ini mencakup tantangan yang dihadapi masyarakat Kuta dalam menjaga warisan budaya mereka di tengah pesatnya perkembangan pariwisata. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi untuk memahami dinamika sosial yang terjadi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya peran ganda Bale Banjar dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai tradisional dengan tuntutan modernitas, serta bagaimana hal ini berkontribusi pada keberlanjutan budaya di Kuta. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting mengenai bagaimana bale banjar dapat beradaptasi dengan dinamika perubahan zaman tanpa kehilangan nilai-nilai budaya yang melekat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modernisasi telah mengubah bale banjar dari ruang tradisional menjadi ruang multifungsi yang juga melayani kegiatan ekonomi dan komersial. Meskipun demikian, bale banjar tetap bertahan dengan elemen-elemen budaya tradisionalnya, meski dalam bentuk yang telah disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat modern. Selain itu juga menunjukkan bahwa Bale Banjar tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat berkumpul, tetapi juga sebagai pusat kreativitas dan inovasi budaya. Bale Banjar memainkan peran penting dalam menjaga identitas lokal dengan mengadakan berbagai kegiatan budaya yang melibatkan masyarakat.

Abstract

Karang bengang, a traditional green space in Tegallalang, Gianyar, represents a significant element of Bali's cultural heritage and environmental sustainability. This study explores integrating karang bengang's cultural and ecological values with modern urban planning strategies to create sustainable urban designs that honor traditional practices. A lot of karang bengang has been lost due to development, thereby changing the heritage site. The research employs a qualitative approach, including grounded theory and hermeneutic analysis, to understand the historical significance, current transformation, and future potential of karang bengang. Findings reveal that karang bengang serves not only as a green belt and community space but also as a vital component of Bali's cultural identity, offering ecological benefits and promoting social cohesion. However, rapid urbanization and tourism development threaten its existence and functionality. This study proposes a model that balances development needs with preserving traditional landscapes. This model emphasizes community engagement, digital mapping technologies, and policy recommendations that reinforce the importance of cultural landscapes in urban environments. The proposed framework aims to guide policymakers, urban planners, and local communities in preserving karang bengang while accommodating growth and modernization. Ultimately, this research contributes to the broader discourse on sustainable urban development, highlighting the need to respect and incorporate cultural heritage in the planning process to achieve resilient and culturally enriched urban spaces.

Abstract

Balinese traditional architecture constitutes a significant cultural legacy enriched with philosophical, societal, and ecological meanings; however, its continuity is increasingly challenged by the pressures of modernization, rapid urban expansion, and the declining transmission of indigenous knowledge across generations. This study investigates the function of integrating digital technologies as a conservation strategy aimed at reinforcing long-term cultural sustainability. A qualitative-descriptive approach is adopted through comprehensive literature review, on-site observation, and case-study examination of the digitalization processes applied to traditional architectural structures. The findings indicate that digital recording techniques (3D scanning, photogrammetry) together with immersive educational visualization (augmented reality/AR, virtual reality/VR) significantly improve the precision of heritage documentation, generate opportunities within the creative economy, support cultural learning initiatives, and enhance the involvement of local communities. Nevertheless, several major constraints remain, including limited digital literacy among stakeholders, inadequate technological infrastructure, cultural hesitation toward technological intervention, and the absence of coherent and integrative policy frameworks. Based on these findings, a strategic framework identified as the “Digital-Integrated Cultural Sustainability (DICS)” model is formulated, combining advanced digital applications with indigenous cultural principles to achieve sustainable preservation. This research ultimately demonstrates that digital technology should not be regarded merely as a technical instrument, but rather as an innovative and strategic mechanism for safeguarding the tangible and intangible cultural values of Bali. It is expected that these outcomes may provide practical guidance for the formulation of digital-oriented conservation policies and implementation strategies within other regions possessing rich cultural heritage. properly, and there are gaps in the connection between units.
