Abstract

Program Makmur for rice commodities has been implemented in Karawang Regency since 2021 and there has been an increase in productivity. However, in the Program Makmur for planting season 1 in April–July 2022, rice productivity in Pedes and Tempuran Districts was the lowest compared to other districts. The average productivity of rice in Pedes District is 4.75 tons/ha and in Tempuran District is 3.96 tons/ha. The purpose of this study was to identify production risks, measure the severity of production risks, and analyze the main sources of risk faced by rice farmers who are partners with the Program Makmur. This research is a quantitative and qualitative research. The research data is in the form of primary data and secondary data. Primary data collection by interview techniques using questionnaires and observation. Secondary data was obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and PT Pupuk Kujang. There were 33 research respondents consisting of 30 farmers who were determined based on saturated sampling, 1 Agronomist Program Makmur and 1 agricultural extension agent in Pedes District and 1 agricultural extension agent in Tempuran District. Instrument test using validity test and reliability test. Data analysis methods used are Fishbone diagrams, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Pareto diagrams. The results of this study show that there are 19 sources of production risk, including 5 risks originating from the environment, 5 risks originating from materials, 3 risks originating from humans, and 6 risks originating from methods. The highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) value is found in risk sources originating from the environment, namely pest and disease attacks with an RPN of 533.61. There are 9 sources of risk with the highest RPN values to be prioritized for risk management.

Abstract

Farmer’s term of trade is a comparison between the price index paid by farmers and the price index paid by farmers, expressed as a percentage and used as an indicator to measure the level of farmer welfare. West Java has fluctuating Farmer’s term of trade of food crops, horticultural crops, and community plantations. This study aims to determine the best forecasting method and forecast Farmer’s term of trade of food crops, horticultural crops, and community plantations in West Java for the next 60 months. The research method used is descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. This study uses secondary data in the form of time series from 2013-2021 totaling 108 periods sourced from the Statistics Indonesia and the Ministry of Agriculture. Data is processed using Minitab 20 application and Microsoft Excel. The data analysis techniques used are linear trend forecasting, quadratic trend, and exponential trend. Based on the smallest MAPE, MAD, and MSD values, the best method of forecasting Farmer’s term of trade of food crop and horticultural crops is a quadratic trend, while forecasting Farmer’s term of trade of smallholder plantation farmers is a linear trend. The forecasting of Farmer’s term of trade of food crop farmers has the equation model  = 101.25 + 0.0737X - 0.000964X2, horticultural crops have the equation model   = 105.28 + 0.1042X - 0.001561X2 , and smallholder plantation crops have the equation model   = 100.156 - 0.04342X. The results of forecasting Farmer’s term of trade of food crops, horticultural crops, and community plantations each have an average value of 92.6753%; 89.3132% and 94.14342%.

Abstract

This bibliometric study examines how the field of sustainable crop management research is developing through an analysis of publications and their citations. We use VOSviewer software and sophisticated bibliometric approaches to find emergent research subjects, co-authorship networks, trends, and influential publications. Our data shows a significant increase in research publications over the course of four decades, which is indicative of the growing understanding of the significance of sustainable agriculture. Key publications by well-known writers offer fundamental information, and co-authorship networks emphasize cooperative research initiatives. Agroecology and climate-resilient agriculture are two emerging study subjects that provide insights into the field's future orientations. Through an awareness of these trends and key publications, this research helps to support well-informed decisions about food security and sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

In the context of agricultural entrepreneurship in Indonesia, this quantitative study explores the intricate relationships that exist between community engagement, knowledge transfer, technology adoption, community food security, and agricultural sustainability. To look into the connections between these crucial factors, the study included 350 agricultural entrepreneurs from various parts of Indonesia in a representative sample. Structural equation modeling using partial least squares (SEM-PLS) was used to gather and analyze data. The findings provided insights into the significance of community engagement, knowledge sharing, and technological advancement in guaranteeing food security. They also confirmed the significant positive direct effects of community participation, knowledge transfer, and technology adoption on community food security. Furthermore, the research findings indicate that the relationship between agricultural sustainability and community engagement is mediated by knowledge transfer and technological adoption, underscoring their crucial function in advancing sustainable agricultural practices. These results add to our knowledge of the dynamics of agricultural entrepreneurship in Indonesia and have important ramifications for stakeholders and policymakers who want to enhance the region's agricultural sustainability and food security.
