Abstract

This research discusses the role of Management Information Systems (SIM) in managing student organization funds, with a research focus on the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (BEM FEB), Tadulako University (UNTAD). The main problem raised is the suboptimal financial system of student organizations that are still managed manually, as well as the lack of transparency and accountability in fund management. The purpose of this research is to explore how SIM is used in practice, to deal with the challenges faced, and its contribution to the efficiency and transparency of the organization's financial governance. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method, and data collection techniques of semi-structured interviews and documentation. The results show that although the use of SIM is still limited to simple applications such as Excel and Google Drive, the system has helped the management in recording finances, preparing reports, and monitoring expenses. SIM also encourages a more accountable and collaborative organizational culture. However, limited human resources, infrastructure, and digital literacy are significant challenges in optimizing the system. This research contributes to understanding the role of information technology implementation at the student organization level and recommends the need for institutional support and continuous training to strengthen digital-based managerial capacity in the campus environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Management Information Systems (SIM) based on the Smartlink application in supporting business decision making in e-commerce-based MSMEs, with a research focus on Giga Laundry. In the digital era that demands accuracy and speed of information, SIM functions not only as a means of recording transactions, but also as a strategic instrument in providing real-time data for operational planning and control. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies of Giga Laundry's business activities. The results showed that the implementation of the Smartlink application is able to improve operational efficiency, speed up the service process, and support more accurate and measurable decision making. The app provides financial reports, customer data, and service demand trends that are used as the basis for business evaluation and strategy development. In addition, integration with digital payment systems such as QRIS and bank transfers also strengthens customer trust. This study concludes that SIM plays an important role in encouraging the competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital era and provides recommendations for system development towards a Decision Support System (DSS) in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how micro-business actors utilize digitalization as a strategy to navigate the dynamics of the modern market, as well as to identify the opportunities and challenges they encounter. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through a case study of Bucket Bunga, a creative florist business that has been operating for seven years and is managed by a young entrepreneur in City X. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the business owner. The results show that digitalization has had a positive impact on market reach, service efficiency, and increased customer interest through social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp. However, several challenges persist, including limited understanding of social media algorithms, fluctuating content visibility, and the rising competition in the online business landscape. The main strategy adopted by the business owner involves improving product quality and customer service, although no external support has been received from communities or educational institutions. This study highlights the importance of digital literacy and institutional support to help micro-businesses adapt effectively to the digital economy ecosystem.
