Abstract

Understanding the motivations behind the use of social media in higher education is crucial for assessing its potential benefits and challenges. However, examining the contribution of social media on collaborative learning within the context of Indonesian universities holds significance due to the country’s growing digital landscape and increasing adoption of social media platforms. This research aimed to analyze proposed collaborative learning models involving social media use among Indonesian University students. The proposed models are constructed based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The quantitative method used was analyzing primary data from 143 private university students in Indonesia. Data were collected using a 5-point Likert scale self-reported questionnaire of Internet Anxiety, Habit, and Performance Expectancy and Behavior Intention as well as Social Media Engagement to mediate collaborative learning. The result of this study was that Social Media Engagement and Behavior Intention significantly influence Performance Expectancy and Habit. There was also a significant influence of Internet Anxiety on behavioral intention. Thus, Collaborative Learning is significantly influenced by Social Media Engagement. These results provided insight into developing effective strategies for integrating social media into higher education.

Abstract

Student social interaction in the school environment is an essential factor in shaping the character and morals of the younger generation. Teachers have a strategic role as educators, mentors, and role models in guiding healthy social interactions by moral and religious values. This study aims to describe and analyze the role of teachers in fostering student social interactions at SMAN 1 Lae Parira, while assessing its alignment with Islamic educational principles. The study employs a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques through interviews with five teachers and 76 students from grades 10 to 12. The study results show that teachers actively set positive examples, remind students of the importance of good manners, guide students away from promiscuity, and monitor student interactions inside and outside the classroom. Teachers also pay special attention to students who exhibit deviant behavior and involve students in activities that support healthy social interaction. Despite challenges, such as students' varying comfort levels in discussing personal issues, teachers are generally assessed as actively and positively fulfilling their roles. This study concludes that teachers at SMAN 1 Lae Parira foster student social interactions that align with Islamic educational values ??and contribute significantly to creating a socially and spiritually conducive school environment

Abstract

This research aims to develop and test the effectiveness of STEM-based E-LKPD on Commendable Morals material for grade XI students of MAN Dairi. The research uses the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of two classes: class XI Science 2 as an experimental class and class XI Science 3 as a control class. Data was collected through tests and questionnaires, then analyzed using validity, reliability, and Independent-Samples T-Test tests with the help of SPSS 26. The results showed that STEM-based E-LKPD obtained an average validity value of 94.9% with the "very feasible" category and practicality of 94% with the "very good" category. The effectiveness test showed an increase in pretest and posttest scores, namely in the medium category, in addition there was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes with a value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.010 < 0.05. The results of the effect size test also showed that 10.8% had an effect on the effectiveness of the use of E-LKPD in learning. This proves that the use of STEM-based E-LKPD is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Advanced research can integrate other 21st-century capability indicators such as creativity, collaboration, and communication to strengthen students' holistic competencies.

Abstract

One traditional method in the process of learning the Qur'an is the talaqi technique, which emphasizes the direct transmission of Qur'an recitation from the instructor to the student. This study aims to describe the application of this technique in Quran memorization activities, identify supporting and hindering factors, and assess its impact on students' memorization skills and character development. The research method is qualitative and descriptive, conducted at Al-Qudwah Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Selangor, Malaysia. The subjects involved the principal, tahfizh teachers, and students, with a focus on the application of the talaqi technique. Data were collected through field observations, question and answer sessions, and document collection, analyzed using an interactive model that included simplification, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity maintained through triangulation. The results show that the talaqi technique is applied systematically through the stages of reading, imitating, repeating memorized verses, and direct correction by the teacher, supported by teacher competence, student enthusiasm, and school rules and facilities. Obstacles include variations in students' memorization abilities, time constraints, and a lack of perseverance in practicing at home. This technique has positive effects, such as improving reading quality, memorization fluency, and Islamic character building, including discipline, patience, and responsibility. The study concluded that the talaqi technique remains very useful and efficient for learning to memorize the Qur'an in formal Islamic elementary schools.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in shaping the character of early childhood at Tadika Al-Fiqh Orchard Taman Setia, Malaysia. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation analysis. The results show that the teacher's role as a role model (uswah hasanah) and facilitator of Islamic habituation is the key factor directly influencing children's behavior. Parental support, manifested in trust in the institution, communication with teachers, and religious habituation at home, contributes significantly despite time limitations due to work commitments. The study also confirms that the quality of parental attention positively influences children's character development; children who receive adequate attention tend to exhibit more positive attitudes and behavior. Holistically, the synergy between teacher modeling at school and parental support at home albeit in different forms and intensities creates a consistent environment for instilling Islamic character. This research underscores the importance of integrated collaboration between educational institutions and families in effective character building through PAI.

Abstract

This study examines differences in students’ academic achievement based on levels of parental involvement at SDI Ash-Sholihah Gedung Johor. A quantitative comparative design was employed with a sample of 84 students selected from a population of 540 using the Slovin formula (10% error rate). Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires measuring parental involvement and academic achievement, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Tukey HSD tests. The findings revealed that mean academic achievement differed significantly across parental involvement levels: low (61.46), medium (66.86), and high (74.39). The ANOVA test indicated a statistically significant difference (F = 44.795; p less than 0.05), and post hoc analysis confirmed that students with high parental involvement achieved significantly higher scores than those in medium and low groups. These results demonstrate that parental involvement is a crucial external factor influencing academic success. The study highlights the importance of strengthening school–family collaboration to enhance learning outcomes, particularly in Islamic elementary school contexts. The findings contribute empirical evidence supporting educational policies and practices that actively engage parents as partners in students’ academic development.

Abstract

This study examines in depth the Qur'an memorization method applied to children at the Prophet's Mosque, one of the world's leading centers for Qur'an learning. The focus of the study is to analyze the approach used to facilitate the process of memorizing the Qur'an for young children, as well as the factors supporting its success. The main problem raised is how the tahfidz method at the Prophet's Mosque can maximize the memorization potential of children while maintaining the quality of reading and understanding. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results show that the tahfidz method at the Prophet's Mosque integrates three main components: (1) a classical system with group division based on ability, (2) a structured repetition technique (tikrar), and (3) individual mentoring by teachers who have passed special certification. In addition, the spiritual environment of the Prophet's Mosque and community support are key factors that strengthen children's motivation. Evaluation is carried out periodically through weekly and monthly memorization tests (simaan). The conclusion of this study confirms that the success of the tahfidz method at the Prophet's Mosque lies not only in memorization techniques, but also in creating a holistic learning ecosystem that integrates cognitive, spiritual, and social aspects. These findings can serve as a reference for other tahfidz institutions in developing effective learning systems.
