Abstract

Abstract

There are many factors that influence the learning process of students with disabilities in higher education. This study aims to determine the factors that support the academic success of students with disabilities in inclusive universities. Researchers in this study used a qualitative approach. Data collection in this study was conducted using questionnaires and interviews. This study involved thirty-seven students with disabilities, consisting of students with visual disabilities, physical disabilities, mental disabilities, and Deaf students. They are students with disabilities who excel in academic and non-academic fields. Their success is achieved with hard work and help or support from others. The results of this study found that there are two factors that support the academic achievement of students with disabilities in inclusive universities, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors are factors that come from within students with disabilities, such as motivation, self-confidence, locus of control, mental strength, adaptability, intellectual ability, and communication skills. External factors are factors that come from outside students with disabilities, namely support from others, facilities and infrastructure, and learning tools.

Abstract

Abstract. Victim blaming remains prevalent in sexual harassment cases on university campuses and is shaped by media framing and internalised gender roles. This study examined the extent to which gender roles and exposure to framed online news about sexual harassment influence students’ victim-blaming tendencies. Forty psychology undergraduates (aged 18–23 years) from Universitas Negeri Makassar were classified as masculine, feminine, androgynous, or undifferentiated using the Bem Sex Role Inventory. A true experimental design with a randomised pretest–posttest control group was employed. Data were analysed with Two-Way ANOVA and paired-sample t-tests. The analyses revealed no statistically significant main effects of gender role or news framing on victim-blaming scores (p > .05). However, participants exposed to negatively framed news showed a significant posttest increase in victim-blaming (p = .043; d = 0.44). These findings indicate that negative victim-focused framing can heighten the tendency to blame victims. The results highlight the need for media literacy education and gender-awareness programmes to mitigate perceptual bias toward victims. Keywords: Victim Blaming, News Framing, Gender Roles

Abstract

Abstract

behavior, with ecological responsibility acting as a mediating variable. The research was conducted among public senior high school students in Makassar City. Data were collected using a set of valid and reliable Likert-based instruments, including the Environmental-Portrait Value Questionnaire (E-PVQ), the Environmental Identity (EID) Scale, the Responsibility Scale, and the Littering Prevention Behavior Scale. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and the final model demonstrated a good overall fit. The findings reveal several important relationships. Value orientation was found to have a positive and significant effect on environmental responsibility, indicating that students with strong pro-environmental values tend to feel more responsible for their environment. Environmental identity also positively and significantly influenced environmental responsibility. Furthermore, value orientation showed a positive and significant effect on littering behavior, suggesting that values can directly encourage responsible waste disposal. In contrast, environmental identity did not directly influence littering behavior in a significant way. However, environmental responsibility emerged as a key factor: it positively and significantly predicted littering behavior and served as a mediator in the model. Environmental responsibility successfully mediated the influence of both value orientation and environmental identity on littering behavior. Keywords: value orientation, environmental identity, responsibility, littering behavior, high school students
