Abstract

Student engagement in learning is important to improve so that students can achieve success in their studies. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of school well being on student engagement, the effect of school well being on self-regulated learning, the effect of self-regulated learning on student engagement, and the effect of school well being on student engagement on self-regulated learning as a mediating variable. This research uses quantitative methods, data was collected from 219 samples. In this study, the sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of school well being on student engagement, with a coefficient value of 0.161, t-statistic=2.868, and p-value=0.004. There is an effect of school well being on self-regulated learning with a coefficient of 0.183, t-statistic=2.198, and p-value = 0.028. There is an effect of self-regulated learning on student engagement with a coefficient of 0.423, t-statistic=7.295, and p-value=0.000. There is an effect of school well being on student engagement with self-regulated learning as mediation, with a mediation coefficient of 0.077 with a t-statistic of 1.961 and a p-value of 0.050 indicating that this mediation effect is significant at the 5% significance limit.

Abstract

Selama masa pandemi Covid-19 telah banyak menyisakan permasalahan dalam kehidupan manusia, termasuk masalah pembelajaran. Situasi learning loss dan penurunan motivasi belajar adalah salah satu masalah yang urgent untuk diselesaikan segera. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan keterampilan belajar dalam quantum learning dan situasi leanring loss terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pasca pandemic di SMP egeri 7 Tebing Tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest dan posttest. Sampel penelitian diambil secara piuposive sampling melalui hasil sebanyak 75 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket tentang leaning loss dan motivasi belajar yang diadaptasi dari beberapa teori yang ada. Teknik analisis data dilakukan menggunakan paired sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Ada pengaruh pelatihan keterampilan belajar dalam quantum learning terhadap situasi learning loss siswa dengan perbandingan rata-rata skor  posttes 85,09 < 94,09 pretest pada nilai Asyimp Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05. 3) Ada pengaruh pelatihan keterampilan belajar dalam quantum learning terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa dengan perbandingan skor rata-rata pada posttes 129,92 > 124,11 pretest pada nilai  Asyimp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan keterampilan belajar dalam quantum learning dapat menurunkan learning loss dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa

Abstract

The learning process is a crucial activity in enhancing the quality of learning outcomes, making the active role of students a significant factor. Family support influences student engagement in their learning at school. The research aims to examine the role of self-concept towards student engagement with family support as a mediating variable. This study utilizes a quantitative method involving data collection through scale completion. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, where samples are selected based on specific characteristics. The results of this research indicate that self-concept plays a significant role in student engagement with family support as a mediator, with a Sobel test statistic of 2.202 > 1.96 and a two-tailed p-value of 0.02 < 0.05. This suggests that self-concept significantly and positively influences student engagement, and family support can mediate the emergence of student engagement behavior.

Abstract

The phenomenon of aggressiveness has now developed and become a common problem in adolescents which is usually in the form of juvenile delinquency. Aggressive behavior of adolescents is certainly influenced by many factors. The research sample was 114 students of class VII and VIII of SMP Al Maksum. Data analysis technique using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) there was a negative and significant effect of father involvement in parenting on student aggressiveness (p = 0.000); (2) there is a negative and significant effect of emotion regulation on student aggressiveness p = 0.000); (3) there is a significant influence between father's involvement in parenting and emotional regulation simultaneously on the aggressiveness of SMP Al Maksum students..

Abstract

Empirically, this study aims to see the correlation between achievement motivation and family support with student involvement. Student engagement is the frequency with which students have a will in routine activities and school programs both inside and outside the classroom with behavioral, emotional and cognitive indicators during their studies at school. The population of this study were 120 students and 120 students as the research sample, with the sampling technique using the total sampling technique. The data collection technique used a scale, namely the student engagement scale, the achievement motivation scale and the family support scale. Data analysis techniques and hypothesis testing use the structural equation model-partial least squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results showed that the proposed hypothesis was accepted, namely: (1) there was a correlation between achievement motivation and student engagement, with a t-count of 2.623 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.009 <0.05, and a significant positive correlation. (2) there is a correlation between family support and student engagement, with a t-count of 2.645 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.008 <0.05, and a significant positive correlation. (3) there is a correlation between family support and student engagement, with an R2 value of 0.202 (20.2%), however, the correlation between the two independent variables is weak. 008 <0.05, and a significant positive correlation.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and learning independence for Grade VIII students of SMP Ad Duroh, Medan Marelan District. To find out the relationship between learning motivation and learning independence for class VIII students of SMP Ad Duroh, Medan Marelan District. To find out the relationship between Academic self-efficacy and learning motivation together with the learning independence of class VIII students of SMP Ad Duroh, Medan Marelan District. research approach, namely quantitative research). This research was conducted in class VIII SMP Ad Duroh, Medan Marelan District, which is located on Jl. Marelan Raya Pasar 4 Barat began on May 25 2023 with a sample of 130 students from a total population of 138 people enrolled in class VIII SMP Ad Durah Medan Marelan. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire distribution method with a Likert scale. The sampling technique used in this study was Proportional Random Sampling. The data analysis technique is multiple linear regression test, reliability test, classic assumption test, hypothesis test. Process the data using the SPSS 25 statistical program for windows. The results showed that there was a relationship between self-efficacy and student learning independence. It was found that the rxy coefficient was 0.449 with p <0.05, this means that the level of self-efficacy students have will be able to increase or decrease the learning independence of class VIII students at SMP Ad durah Medan.

Abstract

The phenomenon in this study is the deterioration in student morale due to the influence of wrong peer interactions and low self-esteem. Thus, this study aims to reveal the influence of social interaction and self-esteem on the moral intelligence of students at SMK Negeri 13 Medan. The research method uses correlational. A random sample of 121 people. Distribution of questionnaires with Likert scale. Data analysis with multiple regression techniques. The results of data processing show that there is an influence of peer interaction on moral intelligence. So, the better the interaction with peers, the more it will increase the moral intelligence of students. There is an influence of self-esteem on moral intelligence. Increasing students' self-esteem will also increase their moral intelligence. There is an influence of peer interaction and self-esteem on moral intelligence which means together peer interaction and self-esteem affect students' moral intelligence. The influence of the two variables together raises moral intelligence by 35.6%. It is recommended that students associate with peers who can lead them to the path of goodness and have a steady self-esteem so that students have high moral intelligence for the success of their lives in the future. The implications of this research for students, carrying out peer interaction and having high self-esteem can be used in efforts to increase moral intelligence.Fenomena dalam penelitian ini adalah terjadinya kemerosotan pada moral siswa dikarenakan pengaruh interaksi teman sebaya yang salah dan harga diri yang rendah. Maka, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh interaksi sosial dan harga diri terhadap kecerdasan moral siswa di SMK Negeri 13 Medan. Metode penelitian menggunakan korelasional. Sampel secara random sebanyak 121 orang. Penyebaran angket dengan skala likert. Analisis data dengan teknik regresi ganda. Hasil olah data menunjukkan ada pengaruh interaksi teman sebaya terhadap kecerdasan moral. Sehingga, semakin baik interaksi dengan teman sebaya maka akan semakin meningkatkan kecerdasan moral siswa. Ada pengaruh harga diri terhadap kecerdasan moral. Meningkatnya harga diri siswa maka akan meningkatkan pula kecerdasan moralnya. Ada pengaruh interaksi teman sebaya dan harga diri terhadap kecerdasan moral yang mengartikan secara bersama-sama interaksi teman sebaya dan harga diri berpengaruh terhadap kecerdasan moral siswa. Pengaruh kedua variabel secara bersama-sama memunculkan kecerdasan moral sebesar 35,6%. Disarankan agar siswa bergaul dengan teman sebaya yang dapat membawa mereka ke jalan kebaikan dan mempunyai harga diri yang mantap sehingga para siswa mempunyai kecerdasan moral yang tinggi untuk keberhasilan kehidupannya ke depan kelak. Implikasi penelitian ini bagi siswa, melaksanakan interaksi teman sebaya dan mempunyai harga diri yang tinggi dapat digunakan dalam upaya peningkatan kecerdasan moral.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving rewards and punishments to the resilience of the children of the TK Negeri Pembina Kabanjahe TA. 2020/2021. The research method is a quantitative descriptive correlational type by placing the research variables in two groups, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable. The research population is the children of the Kabanjahe State Kindergarten. The sampling technique used was the Saturated Sampling technique with a selected sample size of 30 children, the data collection method used an observation sheet for giving rewards, giving punishment, and child resilience. Analysis of research data shows that (1) there is a significant effect between reward giving and children's resilience as indicated by the coefficient R = 0.521 and p = 0.000, namely p < 0.05; (2) there is a significant effect of giving punishment to children's resilience, which is indicated by the coefficient R = 0.655 and p = 0.008, namely p <0.05 and (3) there is a significant effect of giving rewards and giving punishment to children's resilience which is indicated by the coefficient F = 21.596 and R (regression coefficient) = 0.657 while R2 = 0.431 with p < 0.05 and Std. Error of the Estimate 6,1055, The accuracy rate is 100% - 6,1055= 93,8945%. The analysis used is Multiple Regression Analysis and Wilcoxon.parental support; self-concept; and self-confidence of students.

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan formal yang berperan dalam membentuk karir dan mengembangkan kemampuan siswa sebagai persiapan untuk masa depan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan self-estem, minat belajar dengan kematangan karir siswa. Metode  menggunakan kuantitatif populasi 493 dan sampel 100 siswa. Alat ukur yang dipakai yaitu skala. Analisis data dengan Regresi Berganda. Berdasarkan hasil yaitu (1) Signifikan 0,712 dengan p= 0,000 < 0,050 (self-esteem dengan kematangan karir ). (2) hubungan  positif  nilai koefisien (rxy)= 0,937 dengan p= 0,000 < 0,050 (antara minat belajar dengan kematangan karir). (3) Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diketahui terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-esteem dan minat belajar dengan kematangan karir. Sehingga adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-esteem dengan kematangan karir, Adanya hubungan  positif yang signifikan antara minat belajar dengan kematangan karir. Apabila self esteem dan minat belajar tidak baik maka akan berdampak pada karir di masa depan. Kata kunci: kematangan karir, self–esteem, minat belajar

Abstract

High school students need resilience to cope with academic pressures and demands. This study aims to examine the mediating role of self-regulated learning on the effect of social support on academic resilience among high school students. For this purpose, the study population came from one of the high schools in Medan City with a total number of 615 students. This study used total sampling to obtain effective results and partial least square (PLS) SEM. SmartPLS 3.0 was used to analyse the data. The results of this study show that self-regulated learning is able to partially mediate between the influence of social support on students' academic resilience. In order to improve academic resilience, it is recommended that parents and teachers provide active support to students as a tangible manifestation of the social support provided to enhance the development of self-regulated learning in students
