Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems on two-variable linear equation system material based on the locus of control in grade VIII students. This study used qualitative methods to obtain a sample of 72 students using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques use locus of control questionnaire instruments and problem-solving ability test questions. The results of this study showed that students with a strong external locus of control were only able to reach a step of understanding the problem. Meanwhile, students with a balanced internal and external locus of control can reach two steps namely, understanding the problems and devising a strategy. This happens because, students with a strong external locus of control, as well as students with a balanced internal and external locus of control, are less trying and less active in seeking information related to the problems at hand, and are easily influenced by others. Meanwhile, students with a strong internal locus of control can reach three steps namely, understanding the problems, devising a strategy, and carrying out the strategy. This happens because students have a strong internal locus of control easily satisfied with the results they get with the effort they make.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII MTs Putri NW Narmada ditinjau dari gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket gaya belajar siswa, soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika materi sistem persamaan linier dua variabel, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil pengisian angket gaya belajar dari 46 orang siswa yang mengisi angket dengan rincian 13 orang dengan gaya belajar visual, 18 orang dengan gaya belajar auditorial, 9 orang dengan gaya belajar kinestetik, 3 orang dengan gaya belajar visual-auditorial, dan 3 orang dengan gaya belajar auditorial-kinestetik. Kemudian seluruh siswa kelas VIII B dan kelas VIII C diberikan 2 soal tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Subjek yang diambil dari setiap gaya belajar adalah masing-masing 2 orang yang kemudian dilakukan wawancara untuk mengetahui lebih mendalam hasil tes soal yang telah dikerjakan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yaitu siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang lebih tinggi dari siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial dan kinestetik pada tiap tahap pemecahan masalah. Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memiliki kemampuan penguasaan tinggi, siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik memiliki kemampuan penguasaan sedang, dan siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial memiliki kemampuan penguasaan rendah. Siswa gaya belajar visual dan kinestetik mampu melalui semua tahap pemecahan masalah menurut Polya, sedangkan siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial hanya mampu melalui tahap memahami masalah dan melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, namun belum mampu melalui tahap membuat rencana penyelesaian dan memeriksa kembali hasil yang diperoleh.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the model problem-based learning as well as know the effect on student learning outcomes. This research is quantitative research using a true experimental type posttest-only control group design. The research population was class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Mataram with a sample of class XI RPL 2 as the experimental class and XI RPL 1 as the control class which was selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using test instruments. Data analysis techniques in the form of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the study show: 1) there is a positive and significant influence from the application of the model problem-based learning on student learning outcomes, where the influence exerted is included in the large category with a significance value of 0.6 or with an influence percentage of 38.2%; 2) application of the model problem-based learning works well according to the steps on the model problem-based learning which includes: the stages of student orientation to problems, organizing students, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting results, as well as analyzing and evaluating the process and results of problem-solving.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' thinking processes in solving mathematical problems. Data analysis was carried out based on Ilman's thinking process theory in terms of the students' adversity quotient. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. The selection of research subjects was based on the recommendation of the mathematics teacher and obtained class VIII A MTs Negeri 1 West Lombok for the 2022/2023 academic year as research subjects. To deepen the research results, 2 students were selected from each type of AQ students. Data collection techniques using adversity response profile questionnaires, students' thinking process tests and interviews. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. From the research results it can be seen that climber type students tend to use conceptual thinking processes in solving mathematical problems. Where climber students are able to express what is known and asked in questions with their own sentences, answer with concepts that have been learned and are able to explain the steps taken. Meanwhile, camper students tend to use semi-conceptual thinking processes in solving mathematical problems. Where camper students are able to express what is known and asked in questions, in answering they tend to use concepts that have been learned even though they are incomplete and are less able to explain the steps taken.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of reasoning ability with problem solving ability, to determine the relationship of concept understanding ability with problem solving ability, and to determine the relationship of reasoning ability and concept understanding ability together to the ability to solve math problems of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram academic year 2023/2024. This type of research is ex post facto. The population of this study all students of Class IX as many as 394 students. The sample in this study is Class IX-A with the determination of sampling using Purposive random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study using tests. This research instrument in the form of Reasoning Ability Test, concept comprehension ability test and math problem solving ability test of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram. The results of data analysis of simple correlation and multiple correlations were obtained, there is a relationship of reasoning ability with problem solving ability of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram with a coefficient of determination of 84.7%. Then for the ability to understand the concept with the ability to solve problems of students in Class IX SMPN 1 Mataram with a coefficient of determination of 83.5%. The results of data analysis also showed that there is a significant relationship between the relationship of reasoning ability and the ability to understand concepts together against the ability to solve math problems of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram with a coefficient of determination of 92.6%.

Abstract

Preservice mathematics teachers will eventually become mathematics teachers and teach mathematics in schools to students. Therefore, it is important to assess the numeracy skills of preservice mathematics teachers to develop their numeracy skills, which will positively impact students once they start teaching in schools. This study aims to describe the numeracy skills of preservice mathematics teachers about numeracy, including how well they can explore mathematical concepts in problems related to numeracy. This study is a qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study are 28 mathematics education students from the University of Mataram. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires and tasks containing numeracy problems using the Sasak cultural context. Data analysis employs descriptive qualitative analysis, which includes data transcription, categorization, data presentation, description of the numeracy skills of teacher candidates, and conclusion. The results show that, in general, students have not been able to distinguish between numeracy and mathematics. Additionally, students still face difficulties in designing numeracy-oriented learning, especially using the socio-cultural context

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is a form of implementation of the independent curriculum that aims to provide students with a more meaningful learning experience and process. P5 activities also apply the concept of differentiated learning, which emphasizes adapting to students' learning interests and readiness to obtain good learning results. Data in the field shows the lack of availability of the P5 module developed at SMPN 1 Pujut which is used as a guide for teachers and students in carrying out P5 activities. This research aims to create an E-Module based on the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) Project as a Differentiated Learning Resource for Middle School Mathematics that is suitable for use. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using Plomp design research, including (1) preliminary research, (2) development or prototyping phase, and (3) assessment phase. The results of this research indicate that the P5 e-module is classified in the very valid category with content validity criteria of 90.28%, and construct validity of 90.97%. Therefore, the availability of interactive P5 modules helps teachers provide innovative ideas and references for creating similar or even better modules.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan pemecahan masalah terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Mataram Tahun Pelajaran 2024/2025 baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian ex-post facto. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Mataram tahun pelajaran 2024/2025 sebanyak 264 orang. Adapun sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 27 orang yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa uraian, yaitu tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan tes hasil belajar matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama kelas VIII di Mataram tahun pelajaran 2024/2025 memiliki kontribusi sebesar 43,2. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa berada pada kategori rendah dengan nilai rata rata 59,72. Siswa dengan kategori pemecahan masalah tinggi memiliki kemampuan rendah pada tahap memeriksa kembali dan memiliki kemampuan yang tinggi di tahapan lainnya. Sıswa dengan kategorı sedang memiliki kemampuan tinggi pada tahapan menyelesaikan rencana penyelesaian saja, dan siswa dengan kategorı rendah tidak memiliki kemampuan yang tinggi untuk semua tahapan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu produk berupa media interaktif berbasis Google sites yang layak, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP. Media interaktif berbasis Google sites dikembangkan melalui empat tahap sesuai dengan prosedur model 4D yaitu define, design, develop dan disseminate. Penelitian ini dibatasi hanya sampai pada tahap devlopment. Kevalidan atau kelayakan media interaktif dapat diketahui melalui lembar validasi ahli media dan ahli materi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji aiken v untuk mengukur validitas produk, uji keparktisan dan uji N-Gain untuk mengukur efektivitas media. Validator ahli media memberikan skor rata-rata 0,90 dengan kategori sangat valid dan ahli materi memberikan skor 0,94 dengan kategori sangat valid atau sangat layak. Efektivitas media interaktif diukur dengan instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji coba kepada 27 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 11 Mataram. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test diperoleh nilai 16,78 dan hasil post-test sebesar 37,48 dengan nilai rata-rata standart n-gain sebesar 0,73 dengan interpretasi tinggi atau efektif. Hasil angket respon siswa memperoleh presentase sebesar 74,1% dengan kategori baik dan angket respon guru memperoleh presentase sebesar 93,3% dengan kategori sangat baik. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media interaktif berbasis situs Google dinyatakan layak, efektif dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning dengan pendekatan Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) pada pembelajaran matematika di kelas VII F SMPN 6 Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VII F dengan jumlah 40 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan observasi aktivitas belajar peserta didik dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada setiap siklusnya. Secara klasikal hasil belajar pada siklus I sebesar  dengan rata-rata , siklus II sebesar  dengan rata-rata 80,0, dan siklus III sebesar  dengan rata-rata . Persentase aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada siklus I sebesar  dengan kategori baik, siklus II sebesar  dengan kategori baik, dan siklus III sebesar  dengan kategori sangat baik. Penelitian tindakan kelas penerapan model Problem Based Learning dengan pendekatan Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) dapat dikatakan berhasil meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik karena telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang ditetapkan yaitu aktivitas belajar peserta didik berkategori minimal baik dan jumlah peserta didik yang tuntas minimal 75%.
