Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low mathematical problem-solving skills, the lack of innovative learning models, and the limited use of technology in learning media. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of a problem-based learning model assisted by digital student worksheets on students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. This quasi-experimental research involved all eighth-grade students at one of the junior high schools in mataram city. The sample consisted of class VIII A as the experimental class, which received PBL with digital worksheets, and class VIII B as the control class, which received PBL with printed worksheets. Data were collected using a mathematical problem-solving test and analyzed using a t-test and effect size. The results showed that the use of digital worksheets had a significant effect on students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. The average score of the experimental class increased from 47.75 (pretest) to 70.12 (posttest), while the control class increased from 49.46 to 62.05. The t-test showed that   at a 0.05 significance level. The effect size was 0.71, categorized as large, indicating that the applied model and media were effective. This study shows that digital worksheets in problem-based learning can enhance students’ problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the impact of implementing the discovery learning model on the critical thinking skills in class VIII at MTs NW Pringgabaya during the 2024/2025 school year. This research is a type of quasi-experiment. The study population consisted of VIII grade students at MTs NW Pringgabaya, divided into three classes. Cluster random sampling was used to select the sample, after conducting a homogeneity test on each population class. The experimental class, which applied the discovery learning model, was class VIII A, and the control class, which applied the direct learning model, was class VIII B. Data were collected using a critical thinking test and analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results of the analysis showed that the , and the results of the calculation of effect size using Cohen's formula amounted to 0.51, therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning model has an effect on the critical thinking skills of Class VIII students at MTs NW Pringgabaya.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas media pembelajaran matematika interaktif berbasis classpoint untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa Pendidikan matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan 2 kelas sampel, dimana pada kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran dengan media PPT interaktif berbasis classpoint, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diberikan perlakukan pembelajaran dengan media PPT biasa (PPT informatif). Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah semua mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan matematika semester 2 yang mengambil matakuliah Kalkulus. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas 2A dan kelas 2B, Dimana kelas 2B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas 2A sebagai kelas kontrol. Hipotesis yang diajukan pada penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yang ditunjukkan dari hasil uji t, Dimana , yaitu , yang menunjukkan hipotesis diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan penggunaan ClassPoint efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa pendidikan matematika karena dalam penggunaannya dapat meningkatkan interaksi, visualisasi, kolaborasi, dan memberikan umpan balik instan, ClassPoint menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung pengembangan keterampilan komunikasi matematis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sebuah alat etching PCB otomatis berbasis mikrokontroler Arduino, yang berfungsi untuk mempercepat dan menyederhanakan proses pembuatan papan sirkuit cetak secara presisi. Alat ini dilengkapi dengan Motor DC sebagai penggerak utama, yang kecepatannya diatur melalui sinyal PWM untuk memastikan pergerakan wadah berisi cairan ferric chloride berlangsung merata. Sistem juga dilengkapi dengan sensor load cell yang berfungsi untuk membaca berat ferric chloride, sehingga ketika berat tercapai, pompa akan secara otomatis mengalirkan air ke dalam wadah etching sesuai takaran. Pengguna cukup mengatur parameter di awal dan memantau proses dari jarak aman tanpa perlu kontak langsung dengan bahan kimia. Pengujian alat menunjukkan bahwa motor dapat bergerak stabil dengan variasi kecepatan yang sesuai, serta sistem load cell dan pompa bekerja secara otomatis saat berat ferric chloride mencapai nilai yang ditentukan. Alat ini berhasil menyederhanakan proses pencelupan PCB ke dalam cairan etching dengan hasil yang lebih konsisten dan aman, serta mengurangi paparan langsung terhadap bahan kimia berbahaya. Sistem bekerja secara efektif dan efisien untuk keperluan pembuatan PCB skala kecil maupun eksperimen laboratorium.

Abstract

The low quality of education and the achievement of school accreditation, where one of the assessed aspects is the learning process that should be technology-based, demand teachers to develop instructional media.This research aims to develop reference books and obtain mathematical learning media criteria for junior high school. The research method used is Design Research. Research steps are identification and analysis of problems, drafting prototypes, testing prototypes, and improvements. Research is carried out by reviewing the theories, research results, then developing a learning media reference book that will be used as a teacher's guide in developing mathematics learning media for junior high school. The book that has been developed is further validated by three experts in the field of mathematical learning media. validator consists of lecturers and mathematics teachers for junior high school. The conclusion of this study is that interactive learning is the right learning medium in mathematics learning. Some interactive media that affect math learning outcomes are interactive powerpoints, learning videos, and geogebra media. for the development of learning media, a mathematics learning media reference book was developed for junior high school. References have valid criteria on aspects of the material, language, presentation of materials, and infographics.This research aims to develop reference books and establish criteria for mathematical learning media for junior high school. The research method used is Design Research, which involves the following steps: problem identification and analysis, prototype drafting, prototype testing, and improvement. The research is conducted by reviewing theories and research findings, followed by the development of a learning media reference book that will serve as a teacher's guide for creating mathematics learning media for junior high school. The developed book is then validated by three experts in the field of mathematical learning media, including lecturers and mathematics teachers for junior high school. The conclusion of this study is that interactive learning is an effective medium for mathematics education. Some interactive media that have an impact on math learning outcomes include interactive PowerPoints, instructional videos, and Geogebra. To further enhance the development of learning media, a mathematics learning media reference book has been created specifically for junior high school. This reference book meets valid criteria in terms of material aspects, language usage, presentation of content, and infographics.

Abstract

Keberhasilan seorang siswa sangat bergantung pada kesiapan guru dalam merancang suatu desain pembelajaran. Ketersediaan media pembelajaran dapat memudahkan guru dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dengan baik sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai. Berdasarkan observasi di lapangan, lebih tepatnya di SMPN 22 Mataram menunjukan bahwa belum tersedianya media pembelajaran interaktif yang dikembangkan. Sumber belajar yang biasanya digunakan adalah lembar kerja siswa (LKS) yang masih belum menggabungkan konsep matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan demikian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis matematika realistik yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (research & development) dengan model pengembangan 4D dengan tahapan pendefinisian (define), Perancangan (design), pengembangan (development), dan penyebaran (dissemination). Akan tetapi, pada tahap penyebaran (dissemination) tidak dilaksanakan karena keterbatasan waktu. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan angket kepraktisan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan bersifat kuantitatif, yaitu analisis berdasarkan data yang diperoleh. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari tiga alur kegiatan: reduksi data, penyajian data, penarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis matematika realistik yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid dengan skor 0.86 dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis dengan skor 98%. Setelah menggunakan media dalam proses pembelajaran dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis matematika realistik dinyatakan sangat valid dan sangat praktis. Media pembelajaran interaktif ini diharapkan menjadi salah satu alternatif alat bantu guru dalam pembelajaran sehingga siswa dapat membangun pemahaman siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika realistik.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of cooperative learning model type think talk write (TTW) on mathematical communication skills in students of SMPN 13 Mataram class VIII on statistics material. Quantitative approach with quasi experimental method was used in this research. The population in this study was all VIII grade students of SMPN 13 Mataram consisting of five classes, with a sample consisting of two classes, namely class VIII E as an experimental class using the cooperative learning model of think talk write (TTW) type and class VIII A as a control class using direct learning model. Data collection techniques used observation sheets, documentation, and tests. The results of data analysis showed that there was an average difference between the experimental and control classes. The t-test results obtained a t-count value of 2,939, and the t-table value obtained a value of 1,669, indicating that the t-count value was greater than the t-table. Thus, the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model has a positive effect on students' mathematical communication skills. This research suggests the application of TTW model as an effective learning strategy to improve students' mathematical communication skills at junior high school level

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP IT YARSI Mataram on relationship and function material. The method used is a quasi-experimental method, with a posttest-only group design research design. The sample use in this research is saturated because all members of the population were sampled. The sample used in this research was all 39 students in class VIII of SMP IT YARSI Mataram. The instruments in this research are test question, learning implementation plans, and learning activity observation sheets. Data collection was carried out using test instruments. The research results werw tested for normality with the Liliefors test and homogeneity test with Fisher’s test, then analyzed using the t-test. The result of the t-test analysis show   with a significance level of   This show that the problem-based learning model affects the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP IT YARSI Mataram. Therefore, the problem-based learning model should be used in learning to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Mataram in the 2023/2024 school year with the aim of seeing the effect of self-confidence and math anxiety on student’s mathematical communication skills. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with ex post facto method. The population of this study was class IX MTsN 1 Mataram. In determining the sample, probability sampling technique with cluster random sampling type was used. The sample in this study were students of class IX-4 MTsN 1 Mataram, totaling 32 students. The instruments used in this study were self-confidence questionnaire, math anxiety questionnaire, and mathematical communication ability test. The data analysis technique used was descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) The average self-confidence of class IX students of MTsN 1 Mataram in the 2023/2024 school year is in the medium category, where the largest frequency is in the low category with a percentage of 37.50%. The average student math anxiety is in the low category with the largest frequency in the low category at 53.13%. And the average mathematical communication ability of students is in the high category with the largest frequency in the medium category at 40.63%. (2) There is a positive and significant influence between self-confidence on student’s mathematical communication skills by 24.9%. (3) There is a negative and significant influence between math anxiety on student’s mathematical communication skills by 25.6%. (4) There is a significant influence between self-confidence and math anxiety together on student’s mathematical communication skills by 36.4%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems on two-variable linear equation system material based on the locus of control in grade VIII students. This study used qualitative methods to obtain a sample of 72 students using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques use locus of control questionnaire instruments and problem-solving ability test questions. The results of this study showed that students with a strong external locus of control were only able to reach a step of understanding the problem. Meanwhile, students with a balanced internal and external locus of control can reach two steps namely, understanding the problems and devising a strategy. This happens because, students with a strong external locus of control, as well as students with a balanced internal and external locus of control, are less trying and less active in seeking information related to the problems at hand, and are easily influenced by others. Meanwhile, students with a strong internal locus of control can reach three steps namely, understanding the problems, devising a strategy, and carrying out the strategy. This happens because students have a strong internal locus of control easily satisfied with the results they get with the effort they make.
